The space

Totally self-contained, self-catering unit with amazing views north over Tauranga Harbour and the local outdoor bowling club and west to the Kaimai Ranges. Our charge per night is for 2 people. There is an extra charge of $20 each extra person per night.
Omokoroa is a small, friendly, beach community with lots of lovely walkways. Twenty minutes north of Tauranga Airport. For $20 per person we would pick you up from Tauranga Airport. Twenty Five minutes south of Katikati.
There is a fish and chip/Chinese takeaway, hairdresser, café, grocery store and library just 2 minutes walk. We now have a Fresh Choice Supermarket closeby which you drive past on your way to our property. Another store, café/restaurant and licenced boat club with restaurant facilities, medical centre, pharmacy etc. all within 15 minutes walk.
A very good, free boat ramp is 5 minutes drive. A golf course is 7 minutes drive. We are just 200m across the road the best swimming spot on the Omokoroa peninsula - being the inner harbour it is very safe bathing. We have 2 kayaks (life jackets supplied) available for your use. Thermal hot pools are a 5 minute drive.
There is a comfortable queen sized bed in the bedroom and a good double bed at one end of the lounge area. Plenty of wardrobe space. Linen and towels all provided. The unit has it's own hot water supply, separate shower and toilet. In the kitchen there is a full size, 3 burner electric stove with full size oven; a microwave oven - it is very well equipped but should you need the use of something not there I am sure I will have it in my own kitchen upstairs. We supply coffee, tea, sugar, milk. We have good electric convector heaters should we have some inclement weather, but generally the unit is a very warm, sunny spot. There is an electric blanket for each bed.
There is a comfortable leather, corner lounge suite and a couple of wicker chairs. A TV, DVD player, radio. A library of DVD's which we are happy to share. There are outside tables and chairs for your use. Please feel free to use our private, all weather BBQ area upstairs. It doesn't have the great sea view but it is a great place to eat breakfast as this area gets the sun first.
We share the laundry area and there are 2 clothes lines, an iron and ironing board.
We have wireless broadband which is available, free of charge - upon check in we will give you the pin number.
There are 2 morning commuter buses Mon-Fri returning from Tauranga at 5 and 5.30pm. Tues, Thurs and Sat a shopper's bus leaves from across the road at 10.20am returning at 2.20pm for NZ Superannuitants this service is free.
Tauranga is a wealth of NZ history; situated next door to one of the most popular holiday places - Mount Maunganui - it is a 1hr.10 min drive to thermal Rotorua. Sea fishing around the Bay of Plenty is available to all, as is big game fishing. Trout fishing at Rotorua or Taupo is also a very popular past time. Check out the web site for these places to see what is available.
Kevin and I have lived in Omokoroa for the last 12 years and have enjoyed sharing our accommodation with many different visitors. If you have any special requests; or require any further information please ask we are only too happy to assist and make your stay happy and memorable.
We have a guest information folder with brochures etc. for many different activities available.

Guest access

Please feel free to use the BBQ and all weather dining area at the rear of the property.

Interaction with guests

We leave this entirely up to the guests themselves. After the initial introduction and orientation tour of the unit, we encourage our guests to seek out our help/guidance should they need it, but we are aware that sometimes guests like to have time to relax and "catch their breath" particularly if they have been travelling constantly - so we like to respect their privacy.

Anne was very welcoming & made us feel right at home. Use of washing machine was great as were the home-baked goodies that greeted us. Lovely clean place in a very quiet neighbourhood with great views.

My sister and I thought we'd hit the jackpot driving into Omokoroa and seeing the water views as we drove up Anne's street! Anne came down to greet us upon arrival and was so lovely. We got chatting right away. We had a quick little look through the flat before heading out. Anne left a folder on the coffee table which was full of info about the flat and things to do locally which was really helpful. The flat was clean and spacious with more than enough room for the two of us. The kitchen is full functioning and the bed was comfortable as is the lounge! And mostly importantly plenty of tea and coffee and lovely biscuits which Anne topped up for us as we ate them all in the first day! We would highly recommend and definitely be looking Anne up should we visit again.

The host (Kevin) was there to welcome us. The neighbourhood was safe and the environment was very relaxed. Anne (Kevin's partner) was the most relaxed and friendly host that we have so far met. Despite the hot weather, the unit was equipped with good quality curtains that effectively screen off heat and sunlight. As such, the unit was nice and comfortable. At night, we slept well despite having the windows opened.

Anne and Kevin made us feel very welcome. The flat is very clean and in a beautiful neighbourhood with a fantastic sea view. A small cafe with great coffee and a good fish and chips take away is just around the corner and a large supermarket is about to be opened in Feb16. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

We had the most fantastic 10 days here, on arrival Anne had made some lovely sweet treats for us which were great after our long journey from UK. I honestly couldn't fault the place. the sleeping arrangements were great, for myself and partner and 5 year old. there is a divide shelving unit in the bedroom which gives you the feel of two separate rooms. the place had everything we could need. I loved the garden and sitting area out the front, which gets the evening sun. Anne and Kevin were friendly, welcoming and the perfect hosts. it is lovely and quiet, the neighbourhood is so so nice, we love Omokoroa. I would recommend this place to anyone, it is great value and will give lasting happy holiday memories.

Kevin and I live at Omokoroa Beach Nr. Tauranga, New Zealand. We have a one bedroom self contained flat beneath our own accommodation. The property has amazing views to the north over the Tauranga Harbour and west to the Kaimai Ranges. We get to see some amazing, ever changing sun sets. We have family in Queensland, Wellington, Auckland and Te Awamutu and love hosting guests, family and friends. I love the theatre, walking, dancing and reading. Kevin is a wonderful 'Mr Fixit' being a retired farmer, agricultural contractor, builder - he can put his hands to fixing almost anything. He is well read (he's often got his nose in a book). Both Kevin and I are active members of the Bethlehem/Te Puna Lions Club and enjoy the fellowship of Lions.
