Interaction with Guests
We leave this entirely up to the guests themselves. After the initial introduction and orientation tour of the unit, we encourage our guests to seek out our help/guidance should they need it, but we are aware that sometimes guests like to have time to relax and "catch their breath" particularly if they have been travelling constantly - so we like to respect their privacy.

We spent our Easter break here (4 adults) having not visited Omokoroa before. We appreciated Anne's hospitality, leaving us hot cross buns, cookies and chocolate. There were plenty of extra towels in the unit and it was one of the cleanest places we have every stayed in! She also gave us details of what was on in Tauranga, Mt Maunganui and Omokoroa over the long weekend. We particularly enjoyed the walk around the peninsula which Anne left us a map of. Beautiful views and signs showing historical points. All in all a quiet, relaxing place to stay but only 15 minutes' drive from Tauranga.
I am so glad that I found Anne and Kevin's place. Omokoroa is such a peaceful and beautiful village that is only minutes away from Tauranga. It is surrounded by water and the house sits atop a hill giving it a nice view of the water and the Kaimais range. The unit is light, airy, spacious and clean. Anne is such a gracious host. She made sure I was taken care of even before arrival. I arrived with cookies and peaches in the kitchen, milk in the fridge and all other essentials for cooking. Kevin is very friendly and hospitable. I highly recommend Anne and Kevin's place.
We were welcomed by Anne when we arrived at her place. She was made us feel welcome and made sure we had everything we needed before she left us to unpack our car and settle in. She left her door open for a while after we had unpacked, to make sure we didn't need anything else from her - very accommodating considering it was after 11pm by then. In the morning, she gave us some tips and ideas for things to do and answered our questions when we were browsing through brochures and pamphlets left in the information folder in the unit. The unit was spacious and comfortable for the 3 of us, well appointed with plenty of spare linen. Our son (11yrs) happily tucked into the plate of biscuits left for us, and my husband and I certainly appreciated the jug of milk in the fridge which was promptly put to good use in a good hot cuppa. We managed to use the kayaks for a few hours down at the local beachfront. A fantastic location - I love being able to park right by the beachfront and walk straight into the water, no need to carry the kayaks any further than a few feet from the car before you get into the water at high tide. A lovely quiet suburban area, very relaxing. Anne was also very thoughtful leaving us an assortment of DVDs for our 2nd night which we managed to watch a couple of before heading off to bed.
This apartment was by far the Best Airbnb rental that we have stayed in. It was very spacious, extremely clean and well provisioned, lacking for nothing. The view was spectacular, it was very quiet and having use of the kayaks was a real treat. What it made really special were the hosts. Anne was extremely kind and helpful, going out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. We would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to stay in the Bay of Plenty and hope to return someday ourselves.

A great place, Ann was welcoming while also considerate of our space. On a very quiet street, we didn't hear any road noise at night and very little during the day. Lovely views from the flat, I just wish we'd been there to enjoy it more!
About the Host, Anne
Kevin and I (no, the dog isn't Kevin) live at Omokoroa Beach Nr. Tauranga, New Zealand. We have a one bedroom self contained flat beneath our own accommodation. The property has amazing views to the north over the Tauranga Harbour and west to the Kaimai Ranges. We get to see some amazing, ever changing sun sets. We have family in Queensland, Wellington, Auckland and Te Awamutu and love hosting guests, family and friends. I love the theatre, walking, dancing and reading. Kevin is a wonderful 'Mr Fixit' being a retired farmer, agricultural contractor, builder - he can put his hands to fixing almost anything. He is well read (he's often got his nose in a book). Both Kevin and I are active members of the Bethlehem/Te Puna Lions Club and enjoy the fellowship of Lions.
