The Space

Totally self-contained, self-catering unit with amazing views north over Tauranga Harbour and the local outdoor bowling club and west to the Kaimai Ranges. Our charge of $95 per night is for 2 people. There is an extra charge of $20 each extra person per night.
Omokoroa is a small, friendly, beach community with lots of lovely walkways. Thirty minutes north of Tauranga Airport. For $20 per person we would pick you up from Tauranga Airport. Twenty Five minutes south of Katikati.
There is a fish and chip/Chinese takeaway, hairdresser, café, grocery store and library just 2 minutes walk. Another store, Italian restaurant and licenced boat club with restaurant facilities, medical centre, pharmacy etc. all within 15 minutes walk.
A very good, free boat ramp is 5 minutes drive. A golf course is 7 minutes drive - we have a couple of sets of golf clubs should you wish to try your 'swing' out. We are just 200m to the best swimming spot on the Omokoroa peninsula - being the inner harbour it is very safe bathing. We have a kayak and a 2 man dingy (life jackets supplied) available for your use. Thermal hot pools are a 5 minute drive.
There is a comfortable queen sized bed in the bedroom and a good double bed at one end of the lounge area. Plenty of wardrobe space. Linen and towels all provided. The unit has it's own hot water supply, separate shower and toilet. In the kitchen there is a full size, 3 burner electric stove with full size oven; a microwave oven - it is very well equipped but should you need the use of something not there I am sure I will have it in my own kitchen upstairs. We supply coffee, tea, sugar, milk. We have good electric convector heaters should we have some inclement weather, but generally the unit is a very warm, sunny spot. There is an electric blanket for each bed.
There is a comfortable leather, corner lounge suite and a couple of wicker chairs. A TV, DVD player, radio. A library of DVD's which we are happy to share. There are outside tables and chairs for your use. Please feel free to use our private, all weather BBQ area upstairs. It doesn't have the great sea view but it (email hidden) to eat breakfast as this area gets the sun first.
We share the laundry area and there are 2 clothes lines, an iron and ironing board.
We have wireless broadband which is available, free of charge - upon check in we will give you the pin number.
There are 2 morning commuter buses Mon-Fri returning from Tauranga at 5 and 5.30pm. Tues, Thurs and Sat a shopper's bus leaves from across the road at 9.30am returning at 2.30pm for NZ Superannuitants this service is free.
Tauranga is a wealth of NZ history; situated next door to one of the most popular holiday places - Mount Maunganui - it is a 1hr.10 min drive to thermal Rotorua. Sea fishing around the Bay of Plenty is available to all, as is big game fishing. Trout fishing at Rotorua or Taupo is also a very popular past time. Check out the web site for these places to see what is available.
Kevin and I have lived in Omokoroa for the last 8 years and have enjoyed sharing our accommodation with many different visitors. If you have any special requests; or require any further information please ask we are only too happy to assist and make your stay happy and memorable.
We have a guest information folder with brochures etc. for many different activities available.

Guest Access

Please feel free to use the BBQ and all weather dining area at the rear of the property.

Interaction with Guests

We leave this entirely up to the guests themselves. After the initial introduction and orientation tour of the unit, we encourage our guests to seek out our help/guidance should they need it, but we are aware that sometimes guests like to have time to relax and "catch their breath" particularly if they have been travelling constantly - so we like to respect their privacy.

The Neighborhood

Omokoroa is a friendly, beach area with reserves which allow easy access around the peninsular. There is some wonderful native birdlife to be spotted while walking the peninsular.

  • One of our favorite Airbnb spots so far! We'd been traveling for 4+ months and wanted a week of not feeling like tourists. Anne's holiday flat was perfect: comfortable, spacious, well-equipped, and private. The view is also amazing and Omokoroa has lovely walks. We couldn't have (email hidden) for a week of pretending to have a home. :-)

  • We had a great time at Anne's home in Omokoroa!!! It was perfect. We arrived late on a Friday night, but that wasn't a problem because we got detailed directions in advance and the house was easy to find. We had a very warm welcome with cheese and crackers and some sweets. The accommodation is great - spacious for 4 or more people, very clean, warm and comfy. You have an amazing view to the sea and Tauranga and Mount Maunganui is only a 20 minutes drive. We really enjoyed our stay!!! Thank you Anne!

I went to school in England but Kevin is a born and bred New Zealander
Kevin is a retired Dairy Farmer,Builder,Agrigultural contractor. I was a nurse, for 17 years I had my own cafe/takeaway business but am now almost retired doing volunteer work and a little bit of casual work in a local laboratory
Kevin and I (no, the dog isn't Kevin) live at Omokoroa Beach Nr. Tauranga, New Zealand. We have a one bedroom self contained flat beneath our own accommodation. The property has amazing views to the north over the Tauranga Harbour and west to the Kaimai Ranges. We get to see some amazing, ever changing sun sets. We have family in Queensland, Wellington, Auckland and Te Awamutu and love hosting guests, family and friends. I love the theatre, walking, dancing and reading. Kevin is a wonderful 'Mr Fixit' being a retired farmer, agricultural contractor, builder - he can put his hands to fixing almost anything. He is well read (he's often got his nose in a book). Both Kevin and I are active members of the Bethlehem/Te Puna Lions Club and enjoy the fellowship of Lions.
