Especially beautifull home on the ground floor with a spacious garden. There are three bedrooms and a large bathroom. In the bathroom there is a bath and a shower separately. The living is connected with the kitchen wich gives it a nice sphere. If you wich to go to the citycenter it is only ten minutes bij tram or bicycle. And if you wich to explore the country it is very easy to go to the trainstation RAI or Amstelstation from which you can travel the whole country.
The neighbourhood is very beautifull to explore as well. Most of the buildings are design by the famous architect Berlage. All the regular groceries are with in walking distance in the rijnstraat. There is a very large swimmingcenter in walking distance and there are enough nice restaurants to eat from all continents. For the kids there is enough space to play just across the street. There are tenniscourts and childrens playgrounds. Or they can just play in the yard.
The home is unique because of the three bedrooms all the facility's and the way it is decorated which gives you a feel like home as soon as you enter the home.
You are free to use our home and we only which you would respect our neighbours with not too much noise and respect the property as you do at home :-)
And last but not least we kindly request to smoke in our yard and not in our home.
I stayed at Pieter's place with three friends (so we were four girls in our mid-late twenties) for three nights over the Easter weekend. It was a nice and comfortable apartment with a good sized living area and a garden courtyard. It is decorated in the shabby chic style shown in photos. The rooms are not big and as we were four adults one of us had to sleep on a mattress on the floor as the fourth bed is for a child but it was perfectly fine for a holiday, especially as we were happy spending our time in the living area and out and about. Speaking of which, we found the apartment to be really well located. It is not in the very centre but it's just a minute or two walk to the tram which takes you there in about 15 minutes (or less to de pijp, which was our favourite area with all its boutiques, bars and cafes) and is lovely and quiet with more room than you could expect if you stay right in the centre. All in all we had a really good stay and although we didn't get to meet Pieter as he and his family were also on holiday we found him to be very responsive and helpful - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend others to stay here.
Pieter is very sympatique and we are happy to have spent 3 days at his home. He is very available and answers very quickly all our questions. All the necessary information was present in the notebook of welcome in the kitchen. We adored his house and the interior design. A few steps away from the tramway and in about ten minutes of the center. His house is very well placed in Amsterdam, in the quiet. Any negative point for us :). We keep a magnificent memory and we hope to return very soon! Thank you very much Pieter!
I really enjoyed Amsterdam and Pieter's lovely house.
His house is clean entirly, and bright. Of course in kitchen there are fully cooking ware, so it didn't matter to cook for oneself.
But hair dryer wasn't in his house, so the person who need hair dryer have to prepare it from home.
I really miss his cozy house, and if I visit Amsterdam again, I will ask him to stay his wonderful house.
Piet´s place is really comfortable and beautyfully designed! We were two people, so we had a lot of space. The Backyard is a perfect spot to relax or have a sunny breakfast. The neighborhood is really quiet and friendly. It´s a bit out of the centre, but that only means 10 min by bike or tram (which is a one minute walk form the house). The beautyfull district "De Pijp", which has a lot to offer, there are many Bars, Restaurants and a nice Streetmarket, is just a short walk away. We really enjoyed our stay at Piet´s place!
Pieter and his family has a lovely flat. Pieter is available for any questions. The accommodation is well located, 15min from the city center by tram, 10min by bike. Perfect for a stay in the beautiful city of Amsterdam.
We really enjoyed this cozy and comfortable place. It was a good base for exploring Amsterdam. We wholeheartly recommend it!
Pieter was very accommodating enabling us to check in early, pack up am and collect bags mid-afternoon. This enabled us to make the most of 2 travelling days as well as 3 nights during May half term.
The first floor accommodation is in a peaceful family residential area, with tennis courts nearby. 5 minutes away are access to well equipped supermarkets and individual food shops selling handmade chocolates, tutti frutti etc. Chance to observe Dutch life - men in suits commuting by bike and school run with small children transported in bakfietsen.
The accommodation has a beautiful rustic feel with wooden floors, reclaimed furniture, interesting lighting like a clip out of vtwonen -( interior design magazine.) The urban feel improved by lovely views through the French windows to colourful miniature trees.
Although we had a lot of rain during the stay having access to tram 4 at end of the street helped sightseeing. Within 10 minutes on the tram you can reach the albert cupymarkt and a further 10 minutes walk along the canal at stadhouderskade takes you to museum quarter.
We would recommend visiting the Van Gogh museum and if travelling with children purchase the audio so you can learn together about the life and works of this great artist. Lovely souvenirs of umbrellas and oil paintings at the outdoor stalls by the museum.
Rijksmuseum is an impressive piece of architecture both externally and internally, with its huge piece of art -night watch by Rembrandt.
Tram 4 also takes you to the Dam within about 15-20 minutes and then from there you can wander around the 'De 9 Straatjes'. These streets cross over canals, so very picturesque but also a nice place to find individual shops both commercial retail like Carhartt and Cos, to individual shops selling lovely colourful brogues. A café selling good quality lunches overlooking the canal at Singel is broodje bert.
Back near the apartment veronica broodje is a lovely café decorated with everything related to the world cup from grain sacks from brasil to orange flags, with tasty fries and hot dog baguettes. Owners were happy for us to bring our luggage into the café whilst we enjoyed our last hour in Amsterdam.
Our daughter enjoyed having her own room and sleeping in the bunk bed built by Pieter. If you are travelling with more adults then the other room has a mattress, as well as the main bedroom at the front of the house.
It was cosy to return after a wet day back to the apartment, which soon warmed up with radiator warmth.
Thank you Pieter for sharing your home with us.
