Galway city is a vibrant place, said to be Ireland's city of culture, it has many lovely restaurants providing both locally sourced produce and also ethnic foods and of course many pubs with traditional music.
There is a festival in Galway most of the year! Easter has the food festival which is very popular, Cuirt the literary festival follows on and then into the summer for the Galway Arts festival and the famous Galway races, Through the year there is always a great buzz in the city and to be part of it you only have to stroll through town, watch the buskers and street performers and have a drink sitting outside one of the many pubs and do a spot of people watching!
While here it is a great opportunity to visit Connemara, the Cliffs of Moher in county Clare and the Arran islands, all can be done as day trips from the city with one of the coach tour (email hidden) is possible to hire bicycles to explore the city.
Before you leave you should walk the famous Salthill prom,
and of course you kick the wall at Blackrock.
I would be pleased to help you enjoy your trip to galway and to provide any more information for you.

Sarah was the sweetest host! The room is so quiet and the bed was quite comfortable. She had great recommendations for day trips and restaurants in town. I loved my time at her adorable home.
Thank you Sarah for a fantastic time in Galway. Perfect host, lovely home, great location within easy walking distance of everything to explore & enjoy.
Could highly recommend Sarah's place to anyone looking to stay in Galway. Hopefully be back there soon!
Me and my husband stayed at Sarah and Clovis' (the lovely girly cat) house through 9 confortable and good days. Everything was as shown in the room's ad.
She helped us on everything we need and gave us all the tips we asked for.
We highly recommend it!!
Sarah was such a lovely host. Thoughtful, considerate, and caring. She was very welcoming and kindly offered me lifts to my local destinations. She made lovely breakfast , home made granola and compote with Greek yogurt and other lovely treats with easy access to a steady flow of tea at all times :-) She was very helpful with tourist tips and advice. The room was very nice and a private separate bathroom - both impeccably clean and tidy, as was the rest of the house. The location was great, beside the sea and a walk from town. I'd definitely recommend it and would go back there for my next stay in Galway.
Sarah made me feel very welcome - I really appreciated that she picked me up at the train station, as I had not been to Galway before, and the drive to her house gave me a sense of how to get around in Galway. Coffee was always ready when I got up, followed by a lovely breakfast. Sarah was always clear in her expectations and easy to talk to. She made great suggestions as to what to see while in Galway.
