Galway city is a vibrant place, said to be Ireland's city of culture, it has many lovely restaurants providing both locally sourced produce and also ethnic foods and of course many pubs with traditional music.
There is a festival in Galway most of the year! Easter has the food festival which is very popular, Cuirt the literary festival follows on and then into the summer for the Galway Arts festival and the famous Galway races, Through the year there is always a great buzz in the city and to be part of it you only have to stroll through town, watch the buskers and street performers and have a drink sitting outside one of the many pubs and do a spot of people watching!
While here it is a great opportunity to visit Connemara, the Cliffs of Moher in county Clare and the Arran islands, all can be done as day trips from the city with one of the coach tour (email hidden) is possible to hire bicycles to explore the city.
Before you leave you should walk the famous Salthill prom,
and of course you kick the wall at Blackrock.
I would be pleased to help you enjoy your trip to galway and to provide any more information for you.

NB. sometimes my daughters cat is in my house for holidays!!

  • Sarah was a lovely host, and she really made us feel welcome. Her house is stylish and very comfortable, and it's only a short walk to the center of town. I am glad we stayed with her.

  • Sarah is the perfect host. You have your own space, but she’s always ready to help you. She was so nice picking me up at the coach station! Her house is very close to the sea and not far from the city centre, and the room is really cosy and very clean. Don’t even hesitate, if you want to visit Galway and its marvellous surroundings, Sarah’s home is your place to stay!

  • Thank you for the short time at your house! Sarah picked me up in the city and drove me to her lovely home just a few minutes away from Galway City Centre.
The room was very clean, the breakfast like she told before.
Great bathroom for my own (well, great after I found the lightswitch, haha).

I even left some smaller stuff, she sends me to Germany. So thank you for that service.

  • Sarah was a great host and provided us not only with a wonderful room, but also with lots of information about the region and a tasty breakfast. If you plan visiting Galway, make sure you stay with her.

  • Sarah's accommodation was perfect. It was near the sea and close to Galway's vibrant city centre. The room was cosy and included everything we needed for our short stay. Sarah was kind enough to collect us at the train station and to prepare a lovely breakfast. We definitely recommend breakfast at Ard Bia near the Spanish Arch, the street market, Il Folletto Ristorante, and a day trip to Aran Islands-rent bikes!

  • Sarah picked us up at the train station and gave us a quick, helpful orientation to Galway. She has a really cute cat and her house is cozy and neat. The continental breakfast is a very nice touch. We didn't see much of Sarah because we were out most of the time, but she was friendly and communication was easy. The rooms are cozy and private.

  • This was the perfect place to stay in a perfect location. Sarah was very welcoming and relaxed, making me feel at ease in her home. It is a lovely house in a really nice part of Galway. I had a great room with a very comfortable double bed and a small table to do some work on. Having my own bathroom was a real bonus. I would definitely be hoping to stay there again.
