About This Listing
Pure Joy Boutique Town House is an eclectic renovated structure, in a charming cul-de-sac in the Venetian Harbor of Chania. In this pedestrian street, the liveliness of the historic quarters pauses, unfolding moments of contemplation and privacy.
In keeping with the tight scale in these historic grounds what is unique about this property is its chimerical use of space, surprising young and old with features such as staircase drawers. This architectural gem is the perfect accommodation both as a romantic hide-out as well as a home away from home for a small family.
This unique accommodation has two bedrooms, one bathroom and a WC. There is one bathroom with a rain shower on the first floor, and a WC on the ground floor. The living room and fully-equipped kitchen are also on the ground floor.
Joyously located in one of the best parts of the old harbor, Pure Joy is close to some of the finest restaurants of Chania, whimsical shops and lazy cafes, while the sea is just a 2 minute walk away. The closest major attractions are the Byzantine Museum, the Fortress of San Salvadore, and the Naval Museum. Not much further away you may find the Etz Hayim Synagogue, the archaeological museum and the Egyptian Light House, the town’s land mark. The closest organized beach is 500 m away and reached by a picturesque seaside walk. Organize your path or just do yourself the favor and get lost in the colorful alleys and through time.
We appreciated the thoughtful generosity and suggestions. Local knowledge particularly in Crete is very useful. The house is lovely and in a perfect location. Thank you.
The space was absolutely beautiful! Irene was wonderful, stocking our kitchen with the food we had requested and giving many great recommendations of activities and restaurants with the limited time we had in Hania. :) Irene was very responsive to our needs, easily available by phone and text message. Thank you!
We actually stayed at Pure Joy, Aglaia's beautiful and comfortable 3 story home in the Old Town of ancient Venetian Chania. This home has been renovated to a high standard, cool and comfortable in its vibe, an authentic, historic neighborhood with a modern renovated interior, yet still retaining character. The roof terrace was a lovely place to relax. We could walk everywhere, just minutes from the harbor and beach. All basics plus some lovely extras were provided. Aglaia could not have been a better or more gracious host. She met us, helped us park, provided detailed information and insider tips on restaurants and must do activities. We fell in love with Chania and Aglaia and feel we have made a true friend for life. A 10 +, highly recommended.
A super beautiful and charming house, that offered everything we needed for our comfort. The location of the house is just in the old city of Chania, which is very nice, but still close to the beach. Our superhost, Aglaia, gave us the best recommendations for greek restaurants and bars. The food was lovely and not expensive. Aglaia welcomed us on eastersunday with a lot of lokal food and even brought us breakfast on the last day. There was a cleaning-lady coming, every second day. All in all we totally recommend the house and its host. It was a pleasure to stay in. Luisa, Janika, Natalie, Carolin, Marie
Aglaia kindly arranged our taxi from the airport and her mum Irene and the cleaner Eva were waiting to greet us which was lovely. The house is beautiful. It sits up at the end of a little cul de sac right beside the old town. The street is quiet but there are restaurants and shops right at the end. We were not blessed by good weather but the roof terrace is lovely and you can also sit outside both the back and front doors. Eva cleaned the apartment after two days and changed all the bedding and towels. ( we only stayed for 4 days in total) . Aglaia was very helpful and welcoming. The gifts of fruit , veg, wine bread etc were also so thoughtful and much appreciated. Very well equipped kitchen. Microwave, kettle, nice dishes etc, great shower. Second toilet very useful too, as there were four of us.
We would love to return to Pure Joy and recommend it as a lovely place to stay in Chania.
