Goreme Valley Cave House (previously named Omer’s Place) is one of Goreme’s oldest pensions dating back to the late 80’s, when Turkish tourism had its early beginnings.
We have recently re-established, renamed and restored Omer’s Place into a modern, comfortable, welcoming family- run guest house.
The Goreme Valley Cave House is an exclusive and quaint establishment personally accommodating only 26 people at one time. Our accommodation includes 6 standard rooms (with en-suites), 3 underground cave rooms (with en-suites) and a 6 bed cave dorm room. All the rooms contain wi-fi.
Each room is decorated in the traditional style with carpets, kilims and unique Turkish furniture.
You can enjoy your breakfast every morning looking out at the magnificent views of the Goreme Valley with hot air balloons soaring over you from our beautiful terrace.
Our hotel is located in the heart of Cappadocia, Goreme National Park. It is only a 2 minute walk into the town center and 1 km from the famous Goreme Open air Musesum.
Goreme Valley Cave House is your home away from home during your memorable stay in Capppadocia. Our family are delighted and pleased to welcome you with our Traditional Turkish hospitality.
Ahmet and this location were great! Ahmet was extremely helpful in arranging airport transfers (25 TL each way per person). In the off season, Ahmet and his family remodeled the bathrooms and did an excellent job. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here.
Very good hospitality, very good advises about visits of the area. We take pleasure to meet Ahmet and his family. We recommanded this beautiful place !
We had a vey nice stay at Ahmet place. HE was extremely nice, helped us with everything we needed.,arrange the tour, buy bus ticket, etc.
Breakfasts is good and service from Hassan is also excellent.
We totally recommend this place, besides he is doing renovations and next customers will use totally new rooms.
Also location is very good
Our stay here was great, thanks to Ahmet and his great connections that he made for us. We had a wonderful time.
Ahmet is a kind person he was a great host during our six days accommodation. Place have quite cute cave rooms as you see photos. He knows all around like his pocket as a native person. He would be reliable guide for your trip. I wish great holiday who is looking to stay here.
Ahmet and everyone else at the hotel did a wonderful job making my stay fun and convenient. Ahmet arranged everything for my Cappadocia trip—airport transfers, tours, show, restaurant. Staying in a cave suite was comfortable and warm. Good breakfast. I'll be back with some friends or family.
Ahmet and the staff at Goreme Valley Cave house were wonderful. They helped us make the most of our trip to Cappadocia, and made us feel at home in their wonderful space.
We had a pleasant stay in Goreme Valley Cave House. Ahmet is a great host who made sure everything went smoothly for us. One of my friend fell ill during our trip and Ahmet kindly offered to push back our check-out time to the evening, so that she can rest in our room during the day! We were really grateful for that. There is also complimentary breakfast provided which is always a plus. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Cappadocia. Thank you for hosting us, Ahmet!
we booked a trip to cappadocia ( goreme ) for 4 days and we were set to book another hotel for the entire 4 days and then came across reviews from different sites for goreme valley cave house and their highly rated home type atmosphere. So we changed our plans and compromised and booked the 1st 2 nights with them. ( we just checked out an hour ago and are in our new hotel ).
The hospitality you get here from Ahmet and his family who all live here is fantastic. His mom is a superb cook and last night we ate dinner with them and some of the other guests ( a total bargain at 20 lira per person ). I wish we did the dinner with them both nights now. Aside from being a great cook his mom and dad are the best and probably the friendliest people you will ever meet in your travel stays.
Down stairs at ground level we had 1 of the cave rooms and in the middle between the cave rooms there is a kind of home feel type of family room with several couches in it. We loved just lounging around there and we made some great new friends just sitting around there for hours talking into the night.
Between the family room and sitting with the Ahmet's family and others in the dining room upstairs and enjoying breakfast with them and eating dinner with them ( and drinking apple tea and watching some tv with his dad the first night upstairs ) it was exactly the reason why we wanted to book part of our stay there.
Also Ahmet can be your goto person for anything you need to do in Cappadocia. He booked us our airport pickup, booked the absolutely amazing balloon experience for us got us a discount on an atv tour and got my fiancee a discount and her hamam thing.
We went in not sure what to expect and we left with some new friends. But we are really going to miss his mom's food and drinking tea with them.
Out hotel the next 2 days is close. Maybe we will stop by to drink some tea with them in the evening. We like them that much
Ahmet's place was lovely for a budget stay. He and his family made us feel very welcome. They had a great breakfast spread each morning and we joined them for a very resonable and tasty dinner. Due to flight scheduling issues we were left with only one day to see everything - so Ahmet suggested hiring a driver and we did a combo of green tour and red tour. Ali (not sure of spelling) was a very good driver with good english and could answer most of our questions. He was willing to stop when we wanted etc. Looking back we should have either did the audio tour for the underground churches or just did the red tour only. We did not find them so interesting but maybe that is because we are used to different type of caves where we are from. But would stay with them again.
