An original loft created from the renovation of an old tool shed, furnished with a curious selection of salvaged furniture, travel souvenirs, mixed with pieces of contemporary art, design and craftsmanship. It is surrounded by a spectacular 2-hectare garden with an infinity pool and a lush vegetable garden, both available to guests. It is located 15 minutes from Faenza and Brisighella, in the heart of Romagna, and can accommodate 2 to 4 people.

The space
The loft is an open space with a mezzanine, bathed in light and surrounded by greenery. Originally the farm barn, it's preserving its structure and concrete truss-beams. The natural wood flooring, the huge tile stove, the curated selection of recovered objects mixed with design elements, all give the space an industrial but cozy atmosphere.
Also perfect as a creative studio, it often hosts artists in residence.
The dwell is solar powered and heated by the wood burning tile stove. It features a fully equipped kitchen complete with all accessories and tableware, a disabled accessible full bathroom with shower, a half-service bathroom and a queen size bedroom in the mezzanine level. In the private garden there are sun loungers, sink, table with chairs and barbecue.

Ospedaletto 57 is located in the hills of Romagna, in a secluded and absolutely quiet position. It is just a few minutes drive from Faenza, a lively city known worldwide for its ceramics, from Brisighella, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, halfway between Venice and Florence. Located in the heart of beauty, it is a privileged starting point to explore the most interesting places in Romagna, but not only.

Guest access
Complete informations on how to reach us will be provided at reservation confirmation, while upon arrival you will be personally welcomed by me or one of my family members.
You will share with us the garden and the surrounding estate, including the swimming pool, open from May to October, while you will have exclusive use of a green area adjacent to the loft.
The pool area is furnished with seats and sun loungers, external shower and umbrella. The swimming pool (14x7 m) and the garden (2 ha) are shared with the hosts, friends, family and guests of the main house.

In the lush garden, among flowers, ornamental plants and aromatic herbs, fruits and vegetables from different seasons are at your disposal, with dozens of varieties of trees and a rich vegetable garden. All around, woods, olive trees and the river enrich the 12-hectare estate, to be explored with hill walks.

Other things to note
There are plenty of reasons to choose Ospedaletto 57 besides the charme, the beauty and the quieteness of the property. You will also be enchanted by this extremely lively and genuine region, celebrated for its hospitality, its traditions and the unique variety of food, strategically located near magnificent art heritage cities and the Riviera.

NB! Please note that the nearest way to reach us passes through a ford on the Marzeno river. If, due to heavy rainfall, it should not be practicable, the house can easily be reached by a very nice alternative route that is about 15 minutes longer and has some unpaved sections. An experienced guide or a high-steering car is recommended.

Neighborhood highlights

The property is surrounded by the gentle hills of Romagna just a few kilometers from Faenza, a city with a population of about 60,000 with a glorious political and cultural past that thrived thanks to the legacy of the local Manfredi family with the Medici in Florence. Founded by the Romans, Faenza reached its peak splendor in the Renaissance period with the booming of the ceramic art, a strong tradition still recognizable today in the number of artisanal ceramic shops and in the two Museums dedicated to this fine art - the International Museum of Ceramics (MIC) and the Carlo Zauli Museum. The first is the biggest museum on ceramic in the world, with an extensive collection ranging from rare ancient ceramic manufacts to art pieces by Picasso. The second one was created in the original workshop of the famous sculptor Carlo Zauli. Apart from celebrating his artistic career, the museum is extremely active internationally in contemporary art and hosts one of the most important Fab Labs in the region.
Many historical buildings and monuments are still there to testify the much splendid past of Faenza, like Palazzo Ferniani and Palazzo Milzetti. The city is very lively in all seasons, with a calendar of creative and innovative events that has no match in the region, if not in the country. To name a few, Cena Itinerante, Cinema Divino, MEI, Argillà, plus the countless cultural and entertainment activities of museums, theatres, public venues.
The city is also still strongly bonded to its traditions and ancient rituals, like the evocative Nott de Bisò in January and the spectacular and exciting Palio del Niballo at the end of June, which many weeks ahead engages the population in events, duels and contests rooting back to the Middle-age.
Faenza is in a most privileged position, centrally located in a territory that at a less-than-two-hours drive boasts Ravenna, Bologna, Ferrara, Firenze, Venezia, Rimini.
Not to mention the innumerable villages on the hills, with the gracious Brisighella and the unknown but extremely lively Modigliana.
