The Space

Looking for a bright, airy place to crash for the night? Share the house with a number of international guests.

This couch is located in the living room on the first floor of my home. This is a public space that is connected to the kitchen which we all use during the day. This couch is rented to one person at a time and is not shared with other travelers.

Special accommodations can be made for 2 people traveling together who are interested in sharing the futon (extra charges apply).

Getting around

Near the A train (Utica Stop), J/Z train (Gates) and B52 and B15 buses. I am 40 min to Manhattan.

  • This was an awesome stay. The house is beautiful and the hosts are beyond helpful. I stayed on the futon in the living room, but everything was super quiet.

  • Gloria was very nice and welcomed me into her home. I would recommend her to anyone. Her place was clean and organized. Although I requested to sleep on the futon in her living room, the atmosphere was pretty private and quiet throughout the evening hours.

I enjoyed that other guests were residing in the house too. It gives the notion of community living, of course with everyone's own space.

  • Gloria is an extremely kind, nice, and helpful person, and we really did get lucky finding this place and meeting her and her adorable dog Rascal. We occupied the futon, but really, there is a lot of privacy and space. Her home is really beautiful, and it really is in a nice and safe Brooklyn neighbourhood. We had no trouble getting there because its well connected to many trains and buses. We even came home once at 2:30 AM using the buses and trains, and it was totally fine. She even offered bagels, bread, and cereal for breakfast. This listing is totally worth a lot more than the money you actually pay. But the best thing about this place is really Gloria herself - she is just a truly lovely person.

  • She was the best, accommodating and communicative. I ended up having a loaded schedule that made me a bit frantic- she was always easy to reach and helpful. High recommend.

  • Gloria's house was beautiful and homie. I could tell she was an airbnb pro. Very interesting to talk to and very helpful. I can see how "Bed-stuy" may be an intimidating area for some, as it gets a bad rap, but Gloria's immediate neighborhood was warm and friendly.

  • I really enjoyed staying at Gloria's. The futon was more private than one would expect, as the other people staying are quiet and respectful. The bed was comfy and the subway was only a few blocks away. An absolute bargain, too! Thanks Gloria (:

  • Gloria was extremely helpful in guiding me to her home late at night, as well as patient with my later than expected arrival. Her home is a lovely, old brownstone, but the best part is Gloria herself. She shared her experiences during 9-11, which I'd never heard first-hand before, and gave me suggestions as to what to do during my one day in NYC, as well as instructions as to how to get there, all of which was relatively easy. She also offered bagels and cereal for breakfast. All in all, the best place to stay if you want to be as close to possible as JFK without spending a fortune on a hotel room!

About
I'm an avid traveler and have been to all but 5 states in the US. My favorite international destinations so far have been South America, West Africa and Cuba. I've been a host to international students for many years and enjoy opening my home to guests. I currently have a space available and I'm looking forward to hosting you! I have a open and peaceful, gay friendly place, a good resting spot for your busy NYC travels. I also have a dog who is young and very playful. The house sleeps 4 and I typically have a full home - I like it that way! Looking forward to meeting you, Gloria
