About this listing
THIS IS A SHARE and you will be staying with my wife and I, unless other arrangements have been made. We stay in the back sleeping loft, which you can barely see in the first photo. If you want the entire loft for yourself, please let me know and be clear on the dates. The roomrate will be higher if you want the entire loft.
Trendy, clean and modern loft with second floor bedroom with a full-height queen sized air bed for those travelers wishing to live like a local and be steps away from Broadway. Take advantage of the Broadway lotteries where you pay $20 for the best seats in the house. Only those staying nearby can take full advantage of these deals. This apartment is close to the center of the universe - Times Square, and is two blocks away from the 1/2/3/7/9/A/C/E/N/Q/R/S/W subway lines but is a quiet oasis away from the hustle and bustle. I frequently work from home and have lived in NYC for over 20 years, so if you have a need for a NYC guide, this is your best bet!
The room you will get on the second floor to the right in the second photo. Heavy curtains section off your room from the rest of the apartment. So while you will get your own room, there will be sound leaks. While you will be sharing the loft with us, we only rent to one party at a time. When in the apartment, you will get free access to wifi and free calls to anywhere in the domestic U.S. and Canada.
The eating is great on Ninth Avenue (dubbed International Food Avenue) but if you would like to have breakfast or dinner with us, you are welcome to. The apartment has three queen sized beds and a single bed (perfect for three couples and a single). Although three night stays or longer are preferred, if you want to stay less nights, a $75 per night cleaning surcharge will be added.
The cost is per night for the first couple and then $100 for each additional person per night. If you want the apartment cleaned while you are staying in it, there will be an additional $75 per cleaning charge. Dogs are welcome (we raised a seeing eye dog) and we were bonded pet sitters, so if you've got a pup, this is your best bet to be able to bring your dog and yet feel like s/he's well cared for while you experience NYC.
Everything in the loft.
Interaction with Guests
As much or as little as they like.
Great restaurants - steps from International Food Avenue, Broadway, Times Square.
Other Things to Note
We recently got a new puppy - those that do not like dogs or are allergic should find something else.
1) Treat the house like it is your own;
2) Absolutely no curfew! This is the City that never sleeps after all!

What a great time we had. Alastair was a extraordinary great host. Staying in his place esp. was awesome. We had delicious breakfast, best advices, local infos and nice chats with him. Would always come back to his place. Very central and close to a metro station.
Alastair and Iris we can not thank you enough for your hospitality and making us feel so at home in your wonderful loft..Victoria misses Bella....with greatest fondness. Julie and Victoria
Alastair was certainly "the host that keeps on giving". We had a wonderful 10 day stay and would certainly return to the Trendy Loft next time we visit NYC. It was womderful to receive a "proposed itinerary" upon arrival and we are pleased to say that we covered most of it. The breakfasts were amazing and every day we were treated to something different from waffles and bacon to frutatta and vegemite on toast - no day was the same. It was a great way to start the day!! Thank you Alastair for going above and beyond especially by assiting us with our booking for Christmas Brunch at Sylvia's. We can't wait to return!!
It was a really nice place to stay. Alistair was very friendly host and we felt us home. The apartment has a good location. A lot places are in walking distance.
The breakfast was good and every morning he made something different.
If you want see how real New Yorker lives than you have to stay in Alistairs Loft.
We absolutely loved our stay with Al and Iris in the gorgeous loft. It was located in a fantastic spot, easily accessible to all the touristy areas of NY and WOW! Can Alastair cook a mean breakfast! Fantastic hosts, awesome cooking, lovely genuine people. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would MOST certainly recommend the loft for anyone looking for a comfy bed for the night, awesome intro and information about NY from Al and value for money. We would welcome Al and Iris into our home in Australia anytime. Thanks for the great memories. Celeste x
Alastair and Iris are wonderful hosts and make you feel at home right away. Alastair's legendary breakfasts, useful insider tips and enjoyable talks have made our NY trip a very successful one which we will never forget. A real home from home on a prime location in Manhattan.
