Can't decide whether to stay in southeast or northeast? Get easy access to the best of both with this centrally located spot just two blocks off Burnside. You're just blocks away from Voodoo Donut, East Burn, Rontoms, Sizzle Pie, Burnside Brewing and more. A bus will take you across the river to downtown in 5 minutes, and the Hawthorne neighborhood is about 10 minutes away by bike, or a leisurely 30-minute walk.
The apartment is compact but includes everything you'll need including a 42-inch LCD TV with 2.1-channel stereo sound system, kitchen with dishwasher, and queen-size log bed.
Guests have access to everything on premises, except the closet and chest of drawers, which will be occupied with my stuff. Let me know ahead of time if you would like me to clear a few drawers and I can accommodate! The TV, home theater PC, books, magazines, kitchen appliances, dishes and refrigerator are all fair game.
Interaction with Guests
I'll always be out of town when my apartment is up for rent, so the key will be available from a hiding spot where you can pick it up whenever you arrive. The instructions for finding it are extremely simple and include photos so there is no confusion!
On-street parking is plentiful, totally free, and you don't need to move your car at a certain time of day or anything like that.
The bus stop two blocks away will whisk you to downtown in 5 minutes, and has frequent service from several lines. If you're up for a walk, you can get to the MAX light rail at Lloyd Center in 15 minutes, which is an excellent option for reaching the airport without using a taxi.
Make yourself at home and use anything in the kitchen and living room! The stereo has more than enough power to wake the neighbors, so please be respectful with the listening volume. (Never had a problem, but best to keep them happy!) My towels, wash clothes, shampoo and conditioner are all fair game, help yourself. Use of the kitchen cabinets, refrigerator and freezer are encouraged, but please don't eat the food I've left behind or drink my beer :)
I stayed at Nick's place with a friend for a business trip. Nick wasn't in town so we had to get in on our own. No problem there. The place was clean.
We spent 3 nights at Nick's apartment and it was just perfect! We could walk easily downtown and there is a nice coffee place right in front of the apartment! It was very cosy, a big bedroom and a big bathroom. What we enjoyed the most was that Nick was very helpful, even if we didn't see him, we sent emails to each other and he left beers for us in the fridge. Thanks again Nick:)!
Nick made us feel very welcome and even had some delicious beers left in the fridge for us. The place was is in a great area of Portland and everything was within walking distance for us. Nick's place had everything as it was described and we very comfortable during our stay there. We would definitely stay here again!
Perfect location. Perfect apartment. Perfect host. Found the motorcycle coffee shop to be a real treat. Not only did it have perfect coffee within stumbling distance, it offered a great slice of real live Portland.
Nick was an amazing and easily accessible host. Although we did not meet in person, he provided extremely thorough directions and instructions for everything imaginable, provided excellent recommendations for restaurants and even left some local beer for us to try. Overall, our experience with Nick as our host was perfect!
Convenient location and Nick was super detailed and easy. A bit noisy in bedroom because it's facing the street so one night was crazy but another was really quiet.
Nick was super friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. He left us a little welcome note which was a nice touch. His apartment was great! Very clean, in a great neighborhood, and exactly what we needed. It was within walking distance to downtown and close to major bus lines. I would definitely stay there again.
