About this listing
Can't decide whether to stay in southeast or northeast? Get easy access to the best of both with this centrally located spot just two blocks off Burnside. You're just blocks away from Voodoo Donut, East Burn, Rontoms, Sizzle Pie, Burnside Brewing and more. A bus will take you across the river to downtown in 5 minutes, and the Hawthorne neighborhood is about 10 minutes away by bike, or a leisurely 30-minute walk.
The apartment is compact but includes everything you'll need including a 42-inch LCD TV with 2.1-channel stereo sound system, kitchen with dishwasher, and queen-size log bed.
Guests have access to everything on premises, except the closet and chest of drawers, which will be occupied with my stuff. Let me know ahead of time if you would like me to clear a few drawers and I can accommodate! The TV, home theater PC, books, magazines, kitchen appliances, dishes and refrigerator are all fair game.
Interaction with Guests
I'll always be out of town when my apartment is up for rent, so the key will be available from a hiding spot where you can pick it up whenever you arrive. The instructions for finding it are extremely simple and include photos so there is no confusion!
On-street parking is plentiful, totally free, and you don't need to move your car at a certain time of day or anything like that.
The bus stop two blocks away will whisk you to downtown in 5 minutes, and has frequent service from several lines. If you're up for a walk, you can get to the MAX light rail at Lloyd Center in 15 minutes, which is an excellent option for reaching the airport without using a taxi.
Make yourself at home and use anything in the kitchen and living room! The stereo has more than enough power to wake the neighbors, so please be respectful with the listening volume. (Never had a problem, but best to keep them happy!) My towels, wash clothes, shampoo and conditioner are all fair game, help yourself. Use of the kitchen cabinets, refrigerator and freezer are encouraged, but please don't eat the food I've left behind or drink my beer :)
Nick was a great host! He gave very clear, specific instructions about arriving and the apartment itself. I misunderstood one of the directions, but the issue was remedied immediately, Nick was extremely fast to respond as was his local contact. She helped me with my understanding and everything was taken care of. The was my first time renting an Airbnb and I found it to be a great experience. I appreciated Nick's help when I had some questions as we settled in, but once we figured everything out we managed perfectly. The location had easy access to Portland's public transit which made getting around the city simple, as we didn't have a car. We also really enjoyed our last night's dinner at the East Burn just a couple blocks from the apartment. It was a great way to end the trip with an easy stroll and excellent food. Nick also left us a 6-pack of beer in the fridge which was a great treat when we arrived in 90 degree heat! The apartment does not have A/C and if you end up there in abnormally hot conditions it was a bit stuffy, but with big windows and a cool breeze that came late at night it was not awful, just something to consider. Nick's apt makes a great and simple home base. We ended up spending very little time at the apt, but always felt safe in the neighborhood.
Really enjoyed my stay in Portland. Was in town for work and Nick's place was perfect. Easy entry and exit. Clean. I enjoyed the location - some nice bars and restaurants nearby. Great experience - highly recommended.
Loved staying at nicks place- he is an excellent airbnb (website hidden) great directions. Communicates quickly and has detailed answers. The apartment is in a great location. We walked downtown and back every day and it was easy. There's tons of great bars and restaurants in his neighborhood. Would recommend this place to anyone and rebook myself for a long weekend getaway!
Nick's apartment was clean, comfortable and centrally located. There's a coffee shop across the street and lots of places to walk to nearby. Coordination was easy, efficient, friendly and prompt. Nick went above and beyond by letting me stay a few days longer than I had originally planned and was totally flexible about it. I had a great time in Portland and would stay at Nick's again!
I stayed at Nick's place with a friend for a business trip. Nick wasn't in town so we had to get in on our own. No problem there. The place was clean.
We spent 3 nights at Nick's apartment and it was just perfect! We could walk easily downtown and there is a nice coffee place right in front of the apartment! It was very cosy, a big bedroom and a big bathroom. What we enjoyed the most was that Nick was very helpful, even if we didn't see him, we sent emails to each other and he left beers for us in the fridge. Thanks again Nick:)!
Nick made us feel very welcome and even had some delicious beers left in the fridge for us. The place was is in a great area of Portland and everything was within walking distance for us. Nick's place had everything as it was described and we very comfortable during our stay there. We would definitely stay here again!
