This cute and contemporized three bedroom bungalow is found in the heart of revitalized Bay View. Comfortably fitting up to 6 people, this quiet neighborhood is seven blocks from beautiful Lake Michigan and three blocks from attractive Kinnickinnik Ave lined with cafés, restaurants, bars, and a straight shot to downtown.

Milwaukee has a rich history. We have tried to restore the historical features of my home while updating the bathroom and kitchen. Bay View has an expanding art scene which is mirrored in our home. The layout of the home has larger community spaces and smaller bedrooms. That's how they build them back in the day. Guests are able to enjoy the entire main level which includes its own entrance. It comfortably fits 4 adults but could potentially hold up to 8 depending on guest needs. Responsible adults and families are welcome! The best part of this home is its comfortable, peaceful and mostly original interior paired with beautiful Lake Michigan just blocks away.
This space is considered an 'Entire Home' because it has completely different entrances (with different locks) than the downstairs studio, where my husband, Carlos, and I usually stay in the private, finished basement with our two friendly dogs. At times, we also rent our downstair's level to other AirBNB guests. Depending when your stay is, we OR other AirBNB guests may be staying in the downstairs studio. Other than the washer/dryer being available in the downstairs space (usually available upon request), the downstairs and upstairs space can and do function as completely independent spaces.
Before you arrive, e-mail or phone would be the best way to contact us. When you arrive, please let us know right away so that we can assist you in getting orientated and headed in the right direction. I, or my husband, will do our best to be at the home when you arrive, but this may depend on your arrival time/date. If not, we will leave specific instruction on how to access the home.
Do note that dogs usually stay at the home (sorry if you are allergic) The dogs will be with us in the finished basement. Note that the basement and the main floor have independent services and entrances, you will still have privacy and will rarely see us during your stay.
Street parking is available for free for the first three nights. Over night parking after three nights is available. Guests will need to purchase a $20 overnight permit so if you have a car, let us know so we can help you with specific instructions. The parking permit should be good for however long you are here. If you really need a garage we can arrange that for an extra fee as we do have a one car garage.
The home is 4.2 miles or a 12 minute drive north of Mitchell Airport.
There is easy access to the Milwaukee County Transit's "Green Line" which is the express line to downtown, running about every 15 minuets it's a great way to get around to all of Milwaukee's star attractions. The house is located about 7 minutes from Howell and Homer "Green Line" bus stop. Feel free to use the city bus map found along with the guidebooks on the dinning room table.

Washer and dryer are usually available in the downstairs space upon request :) We offer a grill, fire pit (with wood), bikes, and even a hammock in our communal but private back yard. If guests are planning to use the yard for a gathering, please let us know and we will do our best to ensure the yard is 'free'.
Anything that is visible can be used. There are three bikes which you can (and should!) use to explore. We are also located close to a golf course, the lake, bike trails, bowling alley, movie theater, all within walking distance. Netflix and wireless internet are here for your use as well. To start your day, there is a Keurig with a variety of coffee's and creamer. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware so feel free to look around to find what you need. Feel free to use basic ingredients (cooking oil, spices, etc). If you wish to have a beer or two, they can usually be found in the refrigerator. A variety of ethnic restaurants located blocks away from the home, anything from Asian, Hispanic, Servian, you name it, Bay View most likely has it. You will find some of our recommendations in our 'Welcome Home' binder.
Interaction with Guests
When you are here and need to contact us, texting is the best way as we may be at work and not able to answer a phone call. We will do our best during working hours to get back to you ASAP. During non-buisness hours, there should be no problem.
Our neighborhood is family oriented, artsy and safe. Bay view offers a great variety of quality beer and food, as well as public transportation to the major points of interest in the city.
There are major bus lines that run 1 block away form our home, there is a line that takes you directly to downtown.
Other Things to Note
Our home is located in the charming neighborhood of Bay View, which was Milwaukee's first suburb. Bay View is one of the Milwaukee neighborhoods experiencing a revival of sorts. Just south of downtown, the "other East Side" boasts historical homes and new shopping, as well as a mix of old and new restaurants and bars. Some Bay View taverns have been around forever, it seems, while others are just hitting the hipster scene. The best part of the neighborhood that it is minutes from Lake Michigan. It is the cities most important feature and a great escape. I am fascinated with Milwaukee history and have studied it in my classroom with my students. If you enjoy 'living' like a local and need any help with navigating through the city, general questions or finding something to do, please ask away!
My home is yours during your stay with the common understanding that you are guests and I would appreciate that my space and belongings would be treated as you would treat your own. Guests are to refrain from using or accessing areas not designated for their use as agreed upon in my listing as well as my verbal and written communications. Guests should feel free to use the kitchen, some snacks will be provided, grocery stores are on walking distance, please kindly clean up after yourselfs. For your own safety and security as well as mine I also ask guests to carefully follow all instructions regarding access to our home, making sure doors are closed and locked when they are out. I would ask that guests conduct themselves accordingly and behave in a manner that is mutually respectful to our neighbors. Lastly for your own sake we ask that you follow our parking guide lines to avoid ticketing during your stay.
I am flexible on check-in/check-out times IF they do not conflict with another guest's reservation.
Our guests will not smoke in the house.
No unauthorized overnight guests in the house.
Pets are welcome as we have two dogs that usually staying here. For those who are traveling with pets, please dispose of all pet waste into garbage containers in the alley behind the house.
