This cute and contemporized three bedroom bungalow is found in the heart of revitalized Bay View. Comfortably fitting 4-6, this quiet neighborhood is seven blocks from beautiful Lake Michigan and three blocks from attractive Kinnikinnick Ave. downtown, city festivals, boutiques, cafes and restaurants!
Milwaukee has a rich history. I have tried to restore the historical features of my home while updating the bathroom and kitchen. Bay View has an expanding art scene which is mirrored in my home. The layout of the home has large community spaces and smaller bedrooms. That's how they build them back in the day. My husband, Carlos, and I stay in the private, finished basement with our two friendly dogs. Guests are able to enjoy the entire main level which includes its own entrance. It comfortably fits 4 adults but could potentially hold up to 8 depending on guest needs. Responsible adults and families are welcome! The best part of this home is it's comfortable, peaceful and original interior paired with beautiful Lake Michigan AND bustling, revitalized Bay View atmosphere. Also, we offer the usage of a one car garage, grill, fire pit (with wood), bikes, golf clubs and even a
hammock. Washer and dryer are available upon request :)
Anything that is visible can be used. There are three bikes which you can (and should!) use to explore. We are also located close to golf courses, two golf sets (one right and left) are available for your use. Netflix and wireless internet are here for your use as well. For breakfast, there is a Keurig with a variety of coffee's, as well as sweetener and cream. Yogurt and fruit can be found in the refrigerator as well as breakfast bars. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware so feel free to look around to find what you need. Feel free to use basic ingredients (cooking oil, spices, etc). If you wish to have a beer or two, they can usually be found in the refrigerator. If you plan on having more than two, please bring your own. A variety of ethnic restaurants located blocks away from the home, anything from Asian, Hispanic, Servian, you name it, Bay View has it.
Before you arrive, e-mail or phone would be the best way to contact me. When you arrive, please let me know right away so that I can assist you in getting orientated and headed in the right direction. When you are here and need to contact me, texting is the best way as I may be at work and not able to answer a phone call (I teach small children). I will do my best during working hours to get back to you ASAP. During non-buisness hours, there should be no problem.
I, or my husband, will do my best to be at the home when you arrive, but this may depend on your arrival time/date. If not, I will leave specific instruction on how to access the home.
My home is located in the charming neighborhood of Bay View, which was Milwaukee's first suburb. Bay View is one of the Milwaukee neighborhoods experiencing a revival of sorts. Just south of downtown, the "other East Side" boasts historical homes and new shopping, as well as a mix of old and new restaurants and bars. Some Bay View taverns have been around forever, it seems, while others are just hitting the hipster scene. The best part of the neighborhood that it is minutes from Lake Michigan. It is the cities most important feature and a great escape. I am fascinated with Milwaukee history and study it in my classroom with my students. If you enjoy 'living' like a local and need any help with navigating through the city, general questions or finding something to do, let me know! Please check out the photographs of Bay View and Milwaukee landmarks.
Enjoy Milwaukee, it is truly a great city once you experience it, also check out the guidebooks for some more great places.
A one car garage is available for your use. Over night parking is available with a permit so if you have an extra car, let me know so I can help you with that.
The home is 4.2 miles or a 12 minute drive north of Mitchell Airport.
There is easy access to the Milwaukee County Transit's "Green Line" which is the express line to downtown, running about every 15 minuets it's a great way to get around to all of Milwaukee's star attractions. The house is located about 7 minutes from Howell and Homer "Green Line" bus stop. Feel free to use the city bus map found along with the guidebooks on the dinning room table.
Do note that dogs usually stay at the home (sorry if you are allergic) The dogs will be with us in the finished basement, note that the basement and the main floor have independent services and entrances, you will still have privacy and will rarely see us during your stay.

Yuliana and Carlos are the most delightful hosts! On the first night it snowed, and I awoke to find my rental car already cleaned off by Carlos. The house is adorable and cozy, and the bed is so soft and dreamy! I actually went BACK to bed late morning just to lie in it because it was so comfy. Being from San Antonio I loved seeing the little Mexican touches (luchador mask and sombrero) reflecting their culture. Overall a wonderful stay, with lots of restaurants and coffee shops right around the corner. I would highly recommend this terrific listing!
Martin(my dog) and I stayed at Carlos and Yuliana's cozy home for 5 weeks. They were great hosts and were very accommodating to my unique situation. With my stay being during the cold Wisconsin winter, they graciously allowed me to me to park in the garage and always made sure the sidewalks were safe to walk on. In addition, all of the recommendations they gave for the local cuisine were amazing. I'm already looking forward to the chance to stay with them again this summer.. Thank You!
We had a lovely weekend at Carlos and Yuliana's house. We were late arriving (almost 11 pm) but Carlos was gracious and patient and there to meet us when we finally did arrive! The house was great - clean and comfortable! We enjoyed cooking in their fully stocked kitchen, as well as snacking on some of the tasty things they had available. The house was quiet and within walking distance to several restaurants and bars that we like to visit. Overall, a great place with great hosts!
The Bay View neighborhood is an ideal base for daytripping in and out of Milwaukee. Carlos and Yuliana's home is warm, comfortable and very welcoming. Armed with recommendations from Carlos we walked to fun bars and tasty restaurants. A great place to return to each evening. Thank you for another wonderful airbnb experience.
Susan and Ron
This was my first AirBNB experience and Carlos and Yuliana made it so very comfortable and pleasant.
Lovely home. Clean and homey. Easy navigation. Love the neighborhood --walk to Farmers Market and KK for great food!
Would definitely stay again!!
This was our first time using Air BnB and the whole experience from start to finish was excellent. Yuliana and Carlos' bungalow was exactly as described, and really exceeded our expectations. The house is in a wonderful neighborhood in Milwaukee with no shortage of bars, restaurants, and interesting shops all within a short walk from their house.
The bungalow is immaculate, and has everything you would need for a weekend or an extended stay. The kitchen is modern, and spacious - great for cooking at home and saving some time & money, but don't eat all your meals in or you'll miss out on some of great food in Milwaukee! It also has a nice well kept backyard perfect for grilling, or napping in the hammock.
We had a fantastic weekend in Milwaukee, and staying here played a big part in that. I would highly recommend renting this space from Yuliana and Carlos, and would happliy do so again in the future.
Just as adorable as it looks in the photos: a brilliant 1920s bungalow. We went to Milwaukee for a family wedding. Carlos kept in great contact with us, and we found the house easily from the airport using the bus system. The neighborhood was residential and safe. The house was immaculate.
We had a bunch of wedding events, but there was a welcome book with lots of city info, maps and activities. There is both a little grocery store and a Target a short walk away, and the well-equipped kitchen allowed us to cook meals.
Carlos and Yuliana were very nice about the late addition of my oldest daughter and her boyfriend, and though the house is a small one, all six of us were very comfortable. Not only would I recommend the house to others, I already did—to other family at the wedding, for the next time they come into Milwaukee.
The reservation was canceled 43 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We booked Carlos & Yuliana's adorable bungalow for our beer and cheese weekend in Milwaukee. It was perfect in every sense of the word.
Their house is so charming and such a bargain for the price. We didn't spend much time in the house, but wanted for nothing. It was also conveniently located, we were walking distance to several cute bars and restaurants and right off the bus line that took as to key parts of the city.
Carlos and Yuliana are wonderful hosts and could not have been more helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to re-book or refer a friend here.
This was an absolutely wonderful house for 3 women and one man. It was darling and the hosts even provided drinks in the refrigerator and their garden herbs and had bicycles. We were close to the lake, where we had a race (10 min) next to the Art Museum. We plan to stay there next year too!
