We are in a great location blocks away from the heart of the Lower East Side. Our apartment has easy access to the subway, great food, and night life. Interesting art covers the walls in a comfortable apartment!
You will be staying with a visual artist -me (Benjamin)- and musician -Greg- (he's quiet though) We have an entire room available. You'll be staying in the largest room in the house.
Our apartment is close to the F train stop at East broadway. Not a long walk to the JMZ train stop as well. We have a cool coffee place around the corner. The funky, infamous, historic 169 bar is a few blocks away (the bloody mary's there are amazing)
Your room has a double/full size bed, shelving and a mini hangar 'closet', so you can unpack and be comfortable, two sunny windows, and always new artwork on the walls. There is an air conditioning unit in your room as well for the hot summer months.
We have a great apartment! We are clean and friendly guys. We both work and are out and about most of the time. We try to always keep some extra room in our refrigerator specifically for your use. I appreciate good fresh ground coffee and like to share that with you. We have good quality coffee, a grinder and a french press which you are welcome to use. yummy.
We are right next door to chinatown. It's an amazing place! I'm a dumpling fan, and we are next to the best in NYC (There are several places I can recommend!). Seward park is a nice place to hang out and people watch, and the food and bar life in the lower east side is awesome. We are only a few minutes away from the walkway along the East River, it's has a great view of the Brooklyn bridge and Manhattan Bridge.
It's so close to so many major famous New York places of interest! I've lived here two years and still am finding new interesting things even in my local neighborhood.
We encourage our guests to make themselves totally comfortable. Feel free to use anything in our kitchen! Hang out in our living room. Keep some food in the fridge and save some money by having a meal at our place. We have towels and sheets for you ready and clean.
Greg and I will both typically be in the general area. We both have jobs and like to be out and about ourselves. Usually we like to keep our relationships with our guests non formal and easy going. We're usually open to joining our guests for a drink in the evenings if we are available.
Our neighborhood is great because it is right next to everything you could possibly want to do in NYC, and still it isn't really busy right where we are so it gets quiet in the evenings. We're right next to Chinatown so there is some overflow and influence from there. There is a lot of new interest in our neighborhood and new places are popping up all the time. There are several great restaurants and bars close to our place, along with lots of art galleries and coffee shops. All of this is within a 15 minute walk from our apartment.
There is a subway stop 3 blocks away from us which can take you anywhere in the city. It is the F train, and that will take you directly to Midtown (where most of the NY stuff you see on TV and movies takes place) A little further along and you are at the base of Central Park.
There are also all sorts of busses close to us. The bus is a great way to get around and is often overlooked. I like the bus because you get to see the city while you get around, and not a tunnel!
If you have a car or decide to rent one there is off street parking all around, though beware the street sweeping schedules! And finding a parking spot is sort of an art in Manhattan.
Ben and Greg are really kind and respectful. It's a shame that we didn't have time to talk to much.
I had a wonderful time in NYC. The apartment was very warm and cozy to rest after a long day walking around: the shower and the bed are great. (The guys also have a hair dryer to borrow and that was very helpful with the cold weather). The apartment is only 5 minutes walking from the subway station and it was save to walk in the neighborhood even late at night.
It was a very nice staying at Ben and Greg's. My and my boyfriend decided to come to the city for a weekend and it was actually kinda a late notice for Ben. But he responded me back very fast and even lowered the price for us. It was very nice of him. The room is exactly same as the description, clean and artistic, oh so is the bar 169 which is a lot of fun (just a few blocks away). The apartment is right next to Chinatown. Subway station is a little bit far, but still within an acceptable walking distance. Overall we had a very pleasant experience! Many thanks for Ben and Greg!
Warm and thoughtful hosts, a good location, clean room and comfortable bed. We were working hard during our stay and did not see much of the guys, but both Benjamin and Greg were checking in on us to make sure we had all we needed. Even though the area is Chinatown more than LES, it suited us well. Williamsburg a bridge crossing away - perfect for a pre-brunch/drink walk! :)
Great house, and very good neighborhood. Transportation is really easy and close to the apartment. The bedroom was cozy and had good space for your clothes. Super nice hosts, and very respectful. Would recommend it to anyone.
This room and the apartment was everything they said it would be-- comfortable and laid back. I really enjoyed the neighborhood and Benjamin and Greg were gracious hosts. This is the place for people who want to see how artists live in New York City. Also being close to Chinatown meant that we had some great dinners!
Beautiful room and apartment, lovely men and transport is too easy from here. Highly recommended listing. Thankyou
Great host and location in Manhattan - perfect for a couple for a stay in NYC looking to be in a central location - subway that runs uptown is a 2 minute walk. Would highly recommend!
Lovely apartment (exactly as in the ad) in a great location plus close to a bar where Ben serves drinks himself :)! We had a great stay, especially when we went barhopping with Ben and his friends in the area (Greg was visiting his parents over Christmas so we didn't really get to meet him). Would always choose their place again!
We enjoyed our stay in Ben's place. It's a few minutes walk from the nearest train station and next to Chinatown. During the stay, both Ben and Greg gave us a lot of space. If you are new to New York like we were, they were very helpful in giving you advices too. BTW, Ben's art pieces are so cool.
Had a great time with the 2 guys. Really nice & easy going lads. Apartment was fantastic. Very clean, big bedroom & great location. Cool artwork too. Would definitely stay there again.
