Andres was extremely welcoming and helpful during our short stay in his guest house. We arrived to the airport late, and our airport pickup was on time, friendly, and helpful. He was also early for our airport drop up, making us feel confident that we would get to the airport with no issues.
The neighborhood that Andres lives in is very quiet, safe, and walking distance to La Parque de Amor and anywhere in central Miraflores. The only time we took a taxi (which was extremely inexpensive) was to go to the historical center of Lima. His place is also roughly ten steps away from a small market where you can buy water and snacks.
The room was clean and comfortable, no extra frills but was exactly what we were looking for in our short stay. Andres provided us with a map, gave us a card with multiple ways to reach him if we had any questions, and there was always breakfast for us in the morning. Andres was very friendly and a great host. I would highly recommend him! We had a great stay in a beautiful area of Lima!
Stayed 3 nights in early May. We liked best the location in a quiet, leafy, residential street behind the Marriott hotel (handy landmark for telling taxi drivers) in Miraflores district, which everyone told us was "very safe". It's a minute's walk from the beautiful Malecon oceanfront promenade and the Larcomar mall which has several eateries and a supermarket. Andres is a sweetheart, tried to answer our questions (his English is very limited, our Spanish even more so), was available on whatsapp if we needed help, lent me his mother's hairdryer. The studio was fine, not as bright as in the photos and a bit musty-smelling, but everything worked, wifi was fast, water pressure good, soap provided. It's a self-contained unit in the back garden, though you walk through the house to reach it. Breakfast was basic (coffee/tea/juice, rolls, butter & jam) which we supplemented with fruit we bought. I'd recommend Andres' place as good value in a great location.
I cannot recommend staying with Andres enough. He was welcoming and very helpful. Excellent, facilities, hot water, good wireless, art on tje walls. The perfect base to explore Lima.
This apartment is really well located in Miraflores. Just a few minutes walk to Larcomer shopping mall which is on the cliffs.
The apartment has good internet, hot water, heater etc. Everything one needs really. It can be a bit dark inside but there is plenty of lighting to make it nice and bright. The apartment is in the back garden of the house and is very quiet and peaceful. Breakfast is very basic but there are so many amazing food options a few minutes walk from the apartment!
Andres responds messages really fast and arranged us an excellent vehicle back to the airport. Highly recommend this place!
Our stay at Andrés studio was awesome, it's a cozy and clean space near to a lot of restaurants, bars and shops in a safe good looking neighborhood, Juana the housekeeper it's a charming person just like Andre's family. I highly recommend this place, I would definitively check in back.
We arrived in Lima in the afternoon and Andres had arranged a taxi to pick us up---it all went like clockwork. Andres was away at school and we did not see him until departing at midnight on our last night. That was disappointing as we did have questions, but the maid was lovely and made us feel comfortable, although she did not speak any English whatsoever, so it was a bit difficult at times. The studio was very nice, clean, comfortable and very interesting as it seems to be an artist's studio with lots of work on the walls and such. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom fine, good shower. The location in Miraflores is absolutely THE BEST, really, really well located for walking. Could have used a bottle of water when we arrived, but we bought some at a little tienda about a block away so that wasn't a problem. As we ran out the door at midnight to catch our plane we met Andres and I was able to ask him who was the artist whose works were all over the studio walls.
Said his father is an architect but does the art as a hobby. The family home through which we passed to get to our studio was absolutely beautiful, so well appointed, interesting and lovely. The maid, Juana, was as gracious as she could be. Breakfast was very minimal, but did include fresh squeezed orange juice. Andres had arranged for the taxi driver, Sr. Hans, to pick us up on arrival in Lima, so we engaged him for the return taxi to the airport on our departure. He was very prompt and we felt very comfortable with the arrangement. Thank you, Andres, for setting that up for us. He's an excellent contact. Would have liked Andres' suggestions about what to see and do in the area, favorite restaurants, that sort of thing. As it turned out, we had some bad ceviche in the afternoon we arrived (at a very well respected upscale restaurant in the Larcomar shopping mall) and were in bed or in the bathroom most of the next day, leaving no time for exploration with our final day in Lima! Oh well, next time we will come and stay at Andres' studio again and go do some of the things in the guide books that we missed. Andres cannot be faulted for having been at school. His bnb is fine, comfortable, and I recommend it for anyone who wants to be in the best location in Miraflores.
