  • Jackie was friendly and helpful and the house was very clean and beautiful. I loved the decorating and the colorful rooms. She had everything I needed, including full use of the kitchen, for my 4-night stay. Her two beautiful dogs were friendly, just as sweet as can be, and very clean. Jackie allowed me to upgrade to Peaceful Haven, which was very spacious, just like the photos.

  • Jackie is very friendly and her house is so beautiful and cozy! In a perfect location to get anywhere in Portland, including the airport. Jackie also has two very cuddly dogs who were fun, fuzzy additions to the experience. We were given space in the fridge, towels, a clean room with plenty of closet space and outlets and a desk. Overall, it was a very comfortable and positive stay!

  • I really like the house and the decor was cute and interesting. The bed was comfortable and Jackie was lovely. I especially liked the Mayan calendar hanging up in the bathroom and the shabby chic distressed dresser in the hallway. These and other details have given me some inspiration for my apartment.

If you are going to the city in the daytime, then take the MAX. The walk is a about 10 or so blocks away however you pass one or two pubs and coffee shops along the way which are cool. MAX leaves from the station every 15 minutes.

There is also a bus that leaves and drops you off right around the corner from the house, however I would suggest you check the schedule as this bus does not run very frequently (every 30 mins - 1 hour depending on time of day).

The house includes some very pleasant outdoor areas so would be a great choice in the summer. Also the location is only 20-25 mins from the airport via taxi.

Price is very reasonable and although it is not central to the downtown area, it is easy to get there. It is also close to Alberta district that, unfortunately, I did not get a chace to go to.

    Response from Jackie:

Mandi....thank you so much for the review, very kind and generous. Very good information for anyone that would chose my house in the future!

    Blessings in your travels!

  • Wonderful stay! Beautiful home, we were upgraded to the nicer and larger of her two rental rooms as we were the only guests that weekend. We will be back regardless of which room we have.

  • Jackie is a wonderful host with a beautiful home in a nice residential area with all the essential stores blocks down. We felt very comfortable and at home.

  • Jackie's place is great! SO comfortable and convenient to many things. It really came in handy for what I needed when I needed it. Best part is how dog-friendly it is. Got a furry friend...don't hesitate stay here!

  • Jackie was out of town when we visited, so we didn't get to meet her, but her sub-renters, took care of everything we needed. The house is quiet and pleasant, and we enjoyed our stay very much.

  • We chose this place because Jackie and her home are dog friendly.

We will choose her place again and again, because we love her and her place, SO MUCH.

From now on, when we visit Portland, we will book our trips based on her place's availability.

Thank you, Jackie for making such a very sweet place for us to be at home, while in Portland.

  • Such an awesome place to stay! The room is gorgeous, roomy, comfortable, and quiet. The house is just a hop, skip and a jump from the Mississippi neighborhood (lots of delicious food carts, restaurants, bars, niche-interest shops, you name it). Jackie is a really sweet woman, who toes this awesome balance of helping you out/getting to know you, and just letting you do your own thing while staying at her lovely home. She's just a fabulous lady, it was a real treat staying at her house. Really great bang for your buck!

The house is very pet-friendly, but even if you're not a pet-lover/bringer (me and my boyfriend weren't), it's still a very nice (and clean!) place to stay. I will definitely come back.

  • I had a great experience staying in Jackie's home. From the minute I arrived I felt welcomed as if I was staying with an old friend. The room was very large and comfortable and it even had air conditioning which was nice because I was in Portland during a heat wave. The house is on a quiet residential street, but you're only a few blocks away from MLK blvd and buses that will connect you to the rest of Portland. I would definitely recommend staying with Jackie if you want to experience life as a real Portlander.

My life's work is being Me! And now I will get to share that with my new business and the people who come to stay with me.!
I am a total people person. I recently retired from working as a social worker for the state of Oregon. So now it is my turn to be the people person I want to be and take of other in a fun way! I love my dogs, walking them and just having them with me whenever I can. They love company too, so feel free to bring your doggie too. I love to swim and have been swimming in the Columbia River almost everyday for the past month with Dalai and Dolce. I listen to music alot, love live concerts, have been to tons not near as many as some but my next one is Bob Dylan and Mark Knoffler Oct 15th. I live in a great city that allows me to drive to the beach or the mountains in matter of hour or so which I love because I love being outdoors. I am loving being in my home since gaining freedom from the daily grind on 3.1.12. I just did a minor renovation in my kitchen with the help of some great friends. It is gorgeous. Still getting it put together, it gets better everyday. I like to putter around the house and do the things I didn't have time to do when I was working! I have been Oregon all my life and traveled all over the state so I feel able to direct and suggest places people can visit in the Portland area as well as in the whole state. It is such a beautiful place! So for now, I am exploring my freedom and my friend in Salem had started an Airbnb so I thought "hey why not, I have a gorgeous house to share with people and I will get to do what I love to do most is meet new people and talk with them!" I believe ALL WE NEEDS IS LOVE! Thank you Beatles!
