Interaction with Guests

I'm always happy to speak with guests if they have any questions. Additionally since I live in the building I'm always available to help should any guests need anything such as supplies, extra towels/linens, blankets..etc. I love sharing recommendations and history about the neighborhood so if any guests is interested do feel shy to ask.

The Neighborhood

The apartment is located in the heart of historic Koreatown (aka Wilshire Center) in the middle of Los Angeles. Two blocks away from LA's principle thoroughfare, the famous Wilshire Blvd. Close to Downtown, USC, Hollywood, Silverlake, Echo Park, Fairfax District, West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. It's one of the densest neighborhoods in the country so it's super dynamic and feels like a city...this is the REAL LA. On the other hand, though it is in the center of everything the nights are quiet and sometimes you completely forget you are amidst the frenetic energy of LA.

The neighborhood IS SAFE, super diverse (both racially and socio-economically), and located near many schools and grocery stores. Remember this apartment is located in one of the largest cities in the world so like all cities it will have a similar sense of urbanism. It is very walkable and there are a ton of restaurants and bars nearby. You have everything from upscale, trendy, cheap, and mid-range bars and restaurants all within walking distance or very short uber ride. Cuisines nearby includes a mix of Korean, Mexican, Middle Eastern, Fusion, Contemporary, Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Steakhouse, American, Pizza, Coffee, Fast Food etc...the list goes on. I'll be more than happy to give you all my recommendations for the neighborhood.

Koreatown is a great neighborhood and for the adventurous it's a great area of LA to explore.

Getting Around

There are two metro stations near by - Normandie/Wilshire (Purple Line) and Vermont/Wilshire (Purple Line and Red Line). If you are trying to get to Hollywood from the apartment you can take the Normandie station and transfer one stop at Vermont or it's just as easy to walk from the apartment directly to Vermont. Hollywood, Downtown, Universal Studio, Chintatown, and Pasadena are all easily accessed by the metro train network.

An Uber or LYFT to downtown LA is about a 7 min drive and costs $5-10. Santa Monica is about $20-25.

There are lots of buses that go through neighborhood to all different parts of town. My recommendation would be to download the Metro app (it's free) or visit the website for bus times...the buses and trains are all GPS timed so you'll know exactly when they arrive. There is also a local DASH bus that services Koreatown and stops at the Vermont/Wilshire Metro station. The DASH stop is right around the corner from the house which make getting to the station easy if you have a lot of bags or luggage...please note that the DASH bus runs every 20 mins and stops running at 8pm.

If you have a car...Koreatown is also centrally located near 3 freeways all with in 2 miles (10, 110, and 101).

If you are going to the westside or beach - Santa Monica or (URL HIDDEN) car on the freeway it should take about 15 mins (without traffic). If you take the Expo Line train or Wilshire 728 rapid bus it takes about 45mins. - 1hr.
