About this listing
Whether you are in town for a weekend or a month, this private room in our recently renovated turn of the century apartment will be your home away from home.
Your incredibly bright and sunny room has a queen bed, television with access to streaming movies and shows, desk and large closet, and overlooks our shared garden and patio space. In the event that bright and sunny is not your style, the room does come equipped with light blocking shades! You will have access to a private bathroom stocked with clean towels and toiletries for your use.
Enjoy easy airport access (short walk to free airport shuttle) in a clean, quiet and public transit accessible neighborhood. We live in historic Jeffries point, a neighborhood with Federal style brick homes, unobstructed views of the Boston skyline, beautiful parks and bike paths, fantastic restaurants and rapid access to downtown.
We are a two minute walk to the Maverick Blue Line subway station which is just one stop from downtown. Our neighborhood is permit parking only (with the exception of Sunday) so if you are driving here, we might not be the best choice for you. There are several Zipcars directly across the street from our house. We are also more than happy to lend you our bicycles.
Ben spent his childhood exploring Boston, and Molly is a former tour guide. We would love to help you plan your trip, and take advantage of historic sites, and insider treasures. Molly speaks fluent French, and can communicate on a basic level of Spanish.
We will provide a continental breakfast, and you are welcome to use the kitchen if you would like to cook.
Also available to our guests:
Yoga Mats and Blocks
Beach Towels and Cooler
If you smoke, we ask that you do so outside. We have a private rear porch, and a shared garden space for your use.
We don't wear shoes in doors and ask that you do the same.
East Boston is safe, but please be sure that all doors and windows are closed and locked when you leave.
We want you to feel at home! If there is anything you need, or would like to borrow during your stay, just let us know!
The house is a traditional Boston Federal Style three decker built in 1902 and refinished less than 10 years ago.
As we arrived later in the evening as planned, Molly and Ben were not at home. But Bill sent me very detailed directions. So it was easy for us to go into the house and to find our room and bathroom. The next morning we met Ben and he showed us our refrigerator and how to make coffee. As it was raining he lent us two umbrellas and gave us some tips for our visit.
As we were very busy with visiting Boston during the day and Molly and Ben were not at home in the evening, we didn´t have much opportunity for a conversation.
Molly and Ben are a friendly and easy going couple, who let you stay in their appartment as it were yours.
The appartment is very good located between the airport and the city. The airport buses you can reach in a ten minutes walk and the subway to downtown and to the airport is just around the corner.
Everything about our stay was great - the easy access to Maverick main station - the lovely apartment and the very welcoming Hosts Molly and Ben
Our stay with Ben and Molly was wonderful. Since the enormous sympathy and affection with which they treated us to the incredible room and breakfest they provided. Oh, and their kitten, Maya, is super nice too! The apartment is in a quiet and safe neighborhood, really close to the airport subway station and another station that served us. In short, our stay with them was the best and we certainly would choose their home again.
Really nice place - functional, charming, always quiet and clean. Molly and Ben are greats hosts, thoughtful and welcoming. Easy access to subway. Absolutely worth it!
Ver much enjoyed my room and the bookshelf in my room. Lovely green space beyond the window. Clean and welcoming. Loved my walks to the harbor. Don't miss the water taxi into Boston - dropped me right at my conference area at the world trade wharf. The skyline and view of Boston was superb. Now I am heading out for long flights and I am basically already at the airport. Totally recommend 129 Orleans as a sweet East Boston B&B with great access.
About the Host, Molly And Ben
My name is Molly, and I am an avid travellor and a warm and welcoming host. I am a native of the Boston area, but have lived and worked in Chicago and Paris. I love warm weather (hence the travel bug), cooking, reading, canoeing, and exploring new cities.
I am listing a fantastic room in the spacious apartment I share with my boyfriend, Ben. Ben and I travel with Airbnb, and have had the opportunity to meet some truly fantastic hosts. We enjoy meeting new people, and sharing our Bostonian expertise. We are both from the area, and are administrators at two of the many Universities Boston is known for.
We can't wait to meet you!
