Ingrid was gracious and timely in following up, and when the time came was flexible and worked with my hectic travel schedule. The apartment is spacious and a jewel in the historic prefecture, close to a market les Halles Castellane and a bevy of restaurants and shops. And yet, it does not feel touristy or inauthentic.
The apartment is in a great location and communication with Ingrid was very easy. It is nicely furnished and well-equipped (although a kettle would be a good addition!). However I don't recommend the apartment if you are at all claustrophobic. It is on the ground level and so the window of the living room opens directly onto the street. As there are no window bars it is a bit of a security issue to leave it open and when closed you can't see out as all windows are opaque. One bedroom is entirely internal (there is a window onto the living room but the blind is broken) and the other also has an opaque window and a broken blind that can't be raised.
This is a lovely place to stay in Montpellier. It is almost smack dab in the middle of the historic town, but only a 15 minute walk from the train station. There are many great restaurants and bars nearby (check out the Bitrot d'Emma just around the corner - magnificent). The apartment is comfortable and has all the amenities. The front room opens up to the street, which is pleasant if you don't mind the few walkers-by peering in on you. The decorations were entertaining and amusing. The bedrooms are comfortable, tho one lacks air flow with the door closed and can become a little stuffy. Some noise comes in the back windows, but what can you expect, you are in the middle of a city. The shower fixtures were a bit leaky and could use some work. But, all of these are quite minor complaints for what is a perfect spot to take in one of the premier cities of Europe. The host, Ingrid, was great. She was very prompt in her responses to all our questions, both before and after we arrived, and got us settled in quickly (we were a little groggy from 24 hrs of traveling). For price, location, and host I can recommend it without reservation.
We had a very nice (EMAIL HIDDEN)munication with her was smooth and easy. The apartment was just as pictured on the listing and the kitchen was well set up. The location was wonderful, very close to everything we needed. Being that it is on the first floor, there is some noise at night, especially on the weekends, but that is to be expected in the center of the old city. We appreciated that Ingrid sent us a hair dryer and a thoughtful gift of some cheeses. Tres bien!
