In the Crete Senesi, at the heart of a working organic farm, the traditional farmhouse is divided into two apartments sleeping a total of six people. Both are beautifully furnished with family pieces. The smaller one, La Casetta, is an open space for two. There is a double bed, a living area and a well-equipped kitchen with table. The bathroom has a shower. You can enjoy the summer sunset from the covered terrace. There is access to a large shared garden with a barbecue area and a table for dining. Guests can help themselves to the produce of our organic vegetable patch.
This is an ideal place in which to enjoy the countryside in spring and autumn, far from the bustle of a city. The focus of farm activity is on the breeding of thoroughbred horses. Mares and foals graze in the fields and horses train on the farm’s sand track. Situated within the Ombrone River valley, you can enjoy walks along its banks and in the surrounding woods. Here you will discover an unspoilt landscape of cultivated fields, abandoned farms, and many species of wild animals and birds. There are many good restaurants and trattorias serving magnificent local wines. The Rapolano spas are just a few minutes’ drive away; our guests have discounted admission. Cultural cities such as Siena, Arezzo and Florence are within easy reach.

L'accoglienza del mio host è stata splendida, un accoglienza calorosa. Disponibile ad ogni tipo di richiesta e in grado di dare indicazioni estremamente precise.
My husband and I were really looking forward to a relaxing stay in the country after a week of being in Rome. The pictures are absolutely accurate; however, what the pictures don't show you nor did any of the previous reviews share was the amount of bugs. You cannot open the windows of the place or the place will be filled with swarms of mosquitos, bees, & flies from outside. Not only could my husband and I not sit comfortably in the apartment with the constant buzzing of insects, but we did not sleep for 4 nights and are covered with bug bites by the time we left. Something else to know, the listing states that wireless internet is available; however, it is only available in an outside shared garden which is swarming with so many bugs that you can't sit outside long enough to pick up the wifi. This may not seem like a problem for those looking to disconnect for a weekend; but you will need the internet for your research for your trip as well as directions to get around. To end this review, we were greeted by Teodora, Fracesca's daughter; however, we didn't see her the rest of our visit which made us feel very isolated and alone & more importantly unwelcomed. We were under the impression that we would be receiving breakfast each day as as we were charged a per person rate per day; however, all that we received was a loaf of bread and jam upon check in and nothing else during our 5 days that we stayed. After being in Tuscany for 5 days, what should have been a relaxing stay, was not and we were even more exhausted then when we had arrived. Both my husband and I were very displeased with this stay and want to share our feedback as all of the previous reviews were very positive and we wish we would have known these issues before booking.
This was a wonderful Tuscan country getaway! We were greeted by the lovely Teodora and shown around our apartment. It was so quiet and beautiful. Teodora showed us around the farm, which had horses, cows and chickens. We were given delicious homemade baked goods to eat during our stay. The apartment was clean and so charming. The location is perfect for day trips to Siena, Piza and Lucca. I know that I will be returning someday for more rest and relaxation. It was very hard to leave.
Our stay in Francesca and Teodora's farmhouse was the absolute highlight of our trip to Italy. The location is perfect for exploring Tuscany (we toured Siena, Montepulciano, Rapolano Terme, and Chianti), but the real pleasure was arriving on the beautiful farm, discovering the delicious homemade Italian country breakfast cakes left for us, and unwinding after three crazy days in Rome. The house is restful, charming and cozy; the hosts friendly and welcoming, and of course it was a pleasure to meet the animals-especially Biscuit, the Spanish greyhound who visited our room every morning and just wants love.
We found an amazing little co-op market in Rapolano Terme and spent two of our nights there cooking dinner with fresh vegetables and pappardelle and drinking wine at home, which was a wonderful treat after so much driving and eating in restaurants.
There is a giant space in my heart reserved for this lovely spot. I would come back in a heartbeat.
Staying here was a dream! It really is an enchanting place. The apartment upstairs (where I stayed) was large, clean and bright. Theodora took care to make sure every detail was in place and it really gave a very natural, country feel. The room is beautifully painted, the water in the shower hot, everything working in the kitchen and Theo brought me the most amazing home made bread and jams. I tried to rent a car and when I couldn't get an automatic, Theodora was amazing and agreed to bring me to train station to rent a scooter, and then pick me up after I returned it.
Theo even came home early from a party she was at to rescue me on night when I locked myself out! She is so sweet and helpful!
You definitely need to have your own transportation here and its it about 5 km from the nearest town/grocery store/busses to Siena, etc. Plan to arrive during the day b/c its very difficult to see the sign at night. Its really out in the middle of nowhere, but so quiet (except for the crickets and frogs) and you can see so many stars at night.
You cannot get internet in the room, only by going outside of the apt and downstairs to the common area, which has lots of bugs at night and there is no cell phone signal (occasionally outside or upstairs in the apartment you get one). If you are looking for a relaxed country experience, where you can cook your own meals and don't mind a few bugs and mosquitoes, this is a perfect place. Theo also showed me around the farm and gave me some great ideas for scenic drives on my scooter.
Id love to go back when I have more time to relax and enjoy...
Theodora and Fransesca are great hostesses! I enjoyed staying at their beautiful farm. The place is a place of peace. I did some cooking with Fransesca, while Theodora was cheering us on. We had fun. "Helping" Theodora with the horses is a nice memory for the coming year of work. Walking through the wood to the old village is worth a try. I loved the apartment. I might even come back some day.
