Our home is a very unique place in Dublin, Myself and partner run a website and food project called 'News of the Curd' our home is a central place for all things food and drink in Dublin, most weeks we host a 3 course meal to the public. If you happen to stay with ourselves on that evening you are more than welcome to partake! We are both very active in the community and very social. The kingsize bed comfortably fits two people! There's a big auld wardrobe for you to keep your stuff and balcony to look over the street. Bed linen and towel provided. LGBT friendly household. You are no more than 10 minutes away from anywhere in the City! We live above a nightclub and the weekends can be a bit intense, read our reviews and see if it suits you!
You will have your own private en suite bathroom, access to our sitting room and kitchen, though the kitchen is always a bit busy.
Interaction with Guests
We also live here in the room across the hall, we are both very chatty if you want to chat. With suppers each week we are used to having new people around. If you happen to have a meal you will get to interact with some of the most socially aware people in Dublin, find out whats on and make the most of your stay.
As we are in the centre of Temple Bar, the weekend can be on the noisy side, midweek it's pretty quite, less the few shouters. We live two floors above a nightclub, which depending on what you are used to, can be a little loud, so just incase we can give you a set of ear plugs. Depending on what music the club has on, on a particular night there can be quite a bit of bass
Dublin is great for getting around. You can walk almost anywhere, we are about 30 seconds away from a public bike rental station and about 15 min walk from most major city attractions.
We both work very long and busy days, so if at night coming in or going to not make too much noise. We are a non smoking apartment but there is a balcony in your room which you can puff away to your hearts content. No one other than the people booked in can enter the apartment!
While Robin and Kevin were overseas, Kevin's sister Mellie looked well after my husband Rainer utilising the apartment for two days. The apartment was self contained with own bathroom and the hot water rules not complicated at all. Rainer liked the place a lot and the location in the midst of Temple Bar was great. Thanks to Millie, Rainer found this awesome breakfast place Fumbally at the corner of Fumbally Lane. Again, thanks for your hospitality
We were hosted by Kevin, who was fantastic. You cannot beat this location! The private room with bathroom was great, and Kevin also provided us with a map and advice and directions.
Only downside -- the nightclub is really just below the apartment, and is VERY loud Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, till the early hours of the morning.
Kevin was there to greet me and help me get into the apartment. He made me feel very welcome and really enjoyed my time in Dublin staying here. the Room was prefect and while the Bathroom en suite was smaller than the main bathroom that i was welcome to use it was perfect for my needs and the showers were great with plenty of hot water. The location in temple bar is perfect for exploring Dublin as everything is within easy walk from this location. I went and explored Jameson and Guinness on foot and had a lovely time. I also got to experience one of Dublin's great barbers at Sam's Barbers and highly recommend the hot towel shave. Last Kevin was great host and when he recommends somewhere to eat i would definitely go check it out. Every time one of his recommendation would surpass my expectations and be the perfect meal. Also important to note that most places other than restaurants and pubs close around 6pm in Dublin making this an even better place to stay, go out exploring till 6pm, head back drop things off and freshen up and you are in the middle of Dublin's night life to enjoy.
Couldn't ask for a better location for a Dublin stay. Kevin is a lovely guy, very welcoming and knowledgeable. Had some great chats about food, Dublin, Ireland and all things craic. Wish I'd been able to stay longer. I'll just have to come back!
Another great location choice – being in Temple Bar a short walk from Trinity University and so many other destinations was perfect. Robin wasn’t in town, so we only got to meet Kevin, and he was great. Very friendly and accommodating – both as we checked in a little late in the day and as we emailed with questions throughout our day exploring the city. He gave us great suggestions for dinner and for listening to traditional live Irish music. Would definitely stay here again if I go back to Dublin.
