Our home is a very unique place in Dublin, Myself and partner run a website and food project called 'News of the Curd' our home is a central place for all things food and drink in Dublin, most weeks we host a 3 course meal to the public. If you happen to stay with ourselves on that evening you are more than welcome to partake! We are both very active in the community and very social. Kevin a life time Dublin knows all the spots and sights to make your stay amazing! Our apartment is inside of an older factory it's warm and welcoming. It always smells of good food. The kingsize bed comfortably fits two people! There's a big auld wardrobe for you to keep your stuff and balcony to look over the street. Bed linen and towel provided. LGBT friendly household. You are no more than 10 minutes away from anywhere in the City! We live above a nightclub and the weekends can be a bit intense, read our reviews and see if it suits you!
You will have your own private en suite bathroom, access to our sitting room and kitchen, though the kitchen is always a bit busy.
Interaction with Guests
We also live here in the room across the hall, we are both very chatty if you want to chat. With suppers each week we are used to having new people around. If you happen to have a meal you will get to interact with some of the most socially aware people in Dublin, find out whats on and make the most of your stay.
As we are in the centre of Temple Bar, the weekend can be on the noisy side, midweek it's pretty quite, less the few shouters. We live two floors above a nightclub, which depending on what you are used to, can be a little loud, so just incase we can give you a set of ear plugs. Depending on what music the club has on, on a particular night there can be quite a bit of bass
Dublin is great for getting around. You can walk almost anywhere, we are about 30 seconds away from a public bike rental station and about 15 min walk from most major city attractions.
We both work very long and busy days, so if at night coming in or going to not make too much noise. We are a non smoking apartment but there is a balcony in your room which you can puff away to your hearts content. No one other than the people booked in can enter the apartment!
We enjoyed interacting with Kevin and being in the heart of the action in Temple Bar district of Dublin.
Even though Robin was away, we couldn't feel more welcome than when we met Kevin! He was so awesome and the apartment was seriously one of the coolest we have ever stayed in. The bed was so comfortable and the place was in a perfect location. We felt so at home and loved standing out on the little balcony in Dublin. Plus, Kevin also recommended us an amazing restaurant and tattoo shop which helped us and gave us memories that will last forever! We would stay here again for sure. Thank you Kevin for welcoming us into your home :)
I was with Kevin ( her boyfriend) 'cause Robin was in Japan but he was very kind with me. The flat is very good located and clean. I deeply recommend this place for a time out in Dublin.
Robin wasn't around when I arrived into Dublin but her partner Kevin was there to help. Kevin is very friendly and helpful - the the entire process was made very easy and simple. I had lots of questions and Kevin was kind to provide advice and suggestions, especially regarding the places to visit and things to do around Dublin. The room was definitely spacious for a solo traveler - but true to form, weekends can be a challenging for those wanting quiet time. Centrally located - it's a good place to start for a first time Airbnb user like me.
Robin currently is in Japan, but her partner Kevin welcomed us and he is a wonderful host. He went on a short trip the morning after we arrived but left us in excellent hands with Millie! (Thanks for everything, Millie). Robin and Millie gave us great advice on where to eat and shop for specific things. Dublin is a vibrant city with lots to offer and I would have loved to have stayed longer.
The bed was comfortable, the bathroom spotless, and it was nice to be able to stay in the middle of everything. Our stay spanned three weeknights, and the club nearby that other reviewers commented on was closed (it is only open on weekends) so we were not kept awake by club music. It is a bit noisy at night just from people passing on the street below and talking, but this is certainly to be expected when staying in Temple Bar. All in all, a wonderful stay with great people!
We enjoyed our stay with Kevin. The location was great, everything was in walking distance. He was a very helpful host. Thanks!
While Robin and Kevin were overseas, Kevin's sister Mellie looked well after my husband Rainer utilising the apartment for two days. The apartment was self contained with own bathroom and the hot water rules not complicated at all. Rainer liked the place a lot and the location in the midst of Temple Bar was great. Thanks to Millie, Rainer found this awesome breakfast place Fumbally at the corner of Fumbally Lane. Again, thanks for your hospitality
