Sugar Bear welcomes everyone!
Steps to National Forest in a quiet neighborhood, the Bear is a cozy cabin with loads of mountain ambiance. From the spa under the stars to the cozy fireplace. Enjoy your coffee with a view from the covered porch, catch a summer rain or enjoy the magical sound of the wind moving the tall pines. Not many cars but plenty of beautiful birds, and still just minutes from Big Bear central. Modern amenities/Tesla Charger

The space
Read our Reviews, our guest say it best! We strive to keep Sugar Bear Lodge an immaculate cabin and are always updating our amenities. If you have a bigger crowd we have the cabin right next door, Sugar Cub Lodge, 2Bedroom/2Bath. Bring the entire gang and still get a good nights sleep! This is our home away from home which we lovingly care for and lovingly share.

Right out the front door:
~~ The birds! We provide birdseed, you will be surprised how beautiful and unusual our birds are!
~~ You are steps to national forest where you will find the area’s Best Sled Hill and hiking trails.
~~ Enjoy our local Sugarloaf Park for Basketball, Skateboard park, and Children's Playground, all recently renovated.
~~ Enjoy a meal at Kallan's, our local "pub" 10 minute walk in the trees.
~~ Tesla Charging or EV charging via a Nema 14-50 in the garage

What guest love about our cabin:
~ The high pine log ceiling in the great room (smart tv, fireplace & cozy couch)
~ Tasteful decor, comfy and personal, home away from home mountain style
~ Kitchen layout near the living/dining/island bar
~ Nice quality kitchenware, we want you to be proud of your table!
~ Comfy King Size Beds in two out of three bedrooms
~ Kitchen contents/tools for cooking up a great meal
~ Beautiful views off the front porch and back deck
~ Sitting on the front covered porch during a summer rain
~ Direct access from the garage to the front door via front covered porch
~ The spa!
~ Sled hill and hiking seconds away
~ Espresso
~ Books, movies, games, puzzles
~ Our quiet neighborhood
~ Tesla Charger & Nema 14-50 EV Plug

Let's talk coffee:
~ We have a thermo type coffee maker, nice to keep your coffee hot and fresh. ~ And a Delonghi Espresso machine and Breville Milk Frother for making amazing cappuccinos or lattes. I provide the espresso pods you provide the milk.

Other things to note:
~ Washer/Dryer for longer stays only, please ask.
~ We own the cabin next door, dubbed Sugar Cub, : ) Search for it on Airbnb by typing in Sugar Cub Lodge under location it will pop up. Room enough to bring the whole gang.

Rest assured we want you to have a 5 STAR escape in the mountains! First step in that process is for you to learn about our cabin and make certain you love it as much as we think you will. Most of you would never require this much detail! However, with the requirements from both Airbnb and the County, things get wordy fast!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~House Rules~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~ Max occupancy is 6, infants/children are included per county law.
~ Max no. of cars 2 (No street parking, county law) if more ask we might have a fix.
~ You don't have to take your trash! We've hired our neighbor to put the trash out. You are responsible for keeping the trash bin secured inside the garage with the garage door closed at night (the bears!). If you are staying at the cabin Tuesday night you will be asked to put it out early Wednesday morning, by 7:00am.
~ Pets are NOT allowed. If guest arrives with a pet(s), guest, and all accompanying guests, including pet(s), will be immediately evicted from the property with no refund of unused nights.
~ We appreciate your courtesy leaving our cabin as you found it, contents in the same condition & location. Do not rearrange furniture.
~ You may be asked to roll the recycle bin to the end of the driveway or roll it back so it is not in the way of plows. If you are unable let me know.
~ We ask that you thoroughly wash all dishes/pots/pans/ETC prior to departure and put them away. The cleaning fee is for a full cleaning of bedding/towels, bathrooms, kitchen, but you are responsible for the dishes and the messy stuff. Extra fees will be incurred if cleaning invoices us for extra cleaning.
~ We hire a plow service, they will do the driveway, front path and front stairs and will show up after 4 inches of new snow. They do not shovel private areas for obvious reasons. Local snow removal companies cannot guarantee a specific time the property will be serviced. Guests may have to shovel if they arrive prior to professional removal or if it snows during their stay. We communicate with you in extreme conditions.
~ We disclose our Security Cameras as mandated by Airbnb, see our listing under Guest Safety. Since 75% of the properties in the Sugarloaf are short term rentals, and properties are sometimes vacant, for the protection of all guests and home owners alike, there are exterior security cameras that monitor activity. We have 2 cameras, both outdoor cameras, there are NO indoor cameras. One camera is located on the left side of the garage, the view is the front path leading to the front stairs, NO view of the front stairs, porch or front door. The other camera is on the right side of the garage, view of the driveway. Both cameras are motion activated and are NOT recording 24/7.
Quiet defines our neighborhood. Well, the birds aren't quiet, but that is sweet noise coming from the city. The oak trees frame the house giving you a feeling of seclusion. Gorgeous surroundings and views, wildlife and a peaceful community make this cabin a true mountain escape. Forget about seeing a car on the road since we are steps to National Forest and Sugarloaf Mountain. There are cabins next door, second homes, yet we rarely see the occupants. Fantastic newly renovated park, less than a mile with basketball, baseball field, kid's park, exercise course and an incredible skate board park! And there is an awesome sled hill steps from the cabin adjacent to national forest. A great getaway for families, groups of friends and anyone wanting to relax and recharge. Remember we have two cabins side by side...perfect if you'd like to include everyone but still get a good night's sleep!
