This is a very nice cottage overlooking the sea - the view is fabulous.

The Space

See '(website hidden) earth' for photos of area.

The Dolphin Oceanfront Cottage is the closest unit to Kehena Beach - located on The Big Island of Hawaii. It has a beautiful ocean view from every room in the house!

If you are interested in yoga, it is situated in between two world famous yoga centers on 'The Red Road'..

This ocean front cottage is across the street from Kehena Beach in one of the most beautiful places on the planet - the famous 'Red Road' in Puna.
It is in a prime location - near the active lava and Volcanoes National Park - home of Kilauea and the periodic lava flows just a short distance from us. There are also Hawaiian jungles, tropical rain forests, beautiful coastal views, geo-thermically heated ponds, snorkeling, whale watching w/ dolphins that migrate to the warm Hawaiian waters from Alaska. You can often see breaching whales out in the water from our lanai, just several yards off our beautiful coast - in the Kehena Beach area. Many of my tenants have told me that they were able to swim w/ the dolphins as well - and you can too at the world famous 'Kehena Black Sand Beach' !

This is the place for water lovers - you should see the spectacular view from the lanai. Literally, you will see coconut trees swaying w/ the trade winds against a blue pacific ocean backdrop.

We also have the best and safest snorkeling grounds just down the road in the Kapoho Tide pools? You can easily navigate all of these places from our cabin at Kehena Beach, it has come to be a very popular spot 'right in the center of all of these attractions'.

For those of you who are seeking night time entertainment, check out 'Uncles Outdoor Hawaii Bar' if you want to sip a beer, listen to live Hawaiian music, eat great food and enjoy a farmers market at the same time.

This spacious and comfortable, high ceiling cottage has one bedroom w/ queen bed, full bath, living/dining area w/ 'food prep area' (induction hotplate/convection table top oven/ new larger fridge/Microwave/blender/coffee w/ coffee maker - 'dish sink' in utility room and a Hawaiian rock BBQ w/ utensils outside, Wi-Fi internet, Direct TV, phone - situated in a tropical garden w/ ocean view). It can't get much better than this. We have a laundry - utility room as well w/ sink. Soap is available.
It can sleep up to 4 w/ sofa bed or full sized Futon.

This cabin is just 8 miles from Pohoiki Point (surfing area) and the famous Kapoho snorkeling waters are also near by and remain popular snorkeling, surfing and swimming areas. Compare our rates to those in Kapoho - you will love our place.

Kilauea Volcano is just a 45-60 minute drive where you can walk through Thurstons Lava Tube and look in to Kilauea Caldera.

You will love Kehena Beach in the Puna District of Hawaii.

  • The cottage was beautiful and well appointed. A most incredible location and view surrounded by some beautiful scenic drives. Andre was an excellent host.

  • What a fantastic location and cute little cottage! So close to all kinds of cool beaches and parks, we had all kinds of fun. The hosts were great and made us feel welcome. The cabin was well stocked with the essentials and located in such and idyllic setting. Thanks again!

  • Wonderful place to stay, with beautiful view of the ocean!

  • The location was great as it was the closest cottage to my daughters favourite beach, Kehena. The lanai was was the most forward facing of the three cottages on the property, which we liked. The place was clean and charming. It was unfortunate that the codes didn't allow three full kitchens (we did have a hot plate, fridge, and counters, but no kitchen sink) on the property....we made do and costs were less. We'd stay here again.

  • We had a wonderful time here! The patio overlooks the ocean and we saw whales jumping and crashing right in front of us! The cottage (we stayed in the smaller one w the full kitchen) is located on the beautifully lush Red Road and is very convenient to the cool town of Pahoa and also a short drive to Hilo. There is an awesome black sand beach directly across from the cottage and a farmers market at the end of the road (west end I believe) that was one of my favorite activities. Local vendors, music, food, dancing - farmers market was definitely a highlight. We would absolutely stay here again.

  • We stayed at Susan's Dolphin cottage. The place is great with a view overlooking the ocean and just across the road from a beach. We could not ask for a more idyllic location.

  • Great little remote getaway by the sea. If you are tired of tourist crowds and traffic, this quiet retreat cabin is for you! Clean and comfortable, off the cel grid, but there is a land line phone and wireless internet. The wonderful lanai coaxed this night owl out of bed early every morning to sip Kona coffee and witness the sunrise on the sea, something I've never done! ;-)

  • We loved Dolphin Cottage, Andre and Susan are so helpful and the perfect hosts. The cottage has amazing views, is a great location and very comfortable inside. We have been travelling round the islands and were looking for a place to relax, catch up with things back home and see some of the Pahoa/Hilo side of Big Island and this place was perfect. I would recommend this to everyone. Thanks Andre and Susan.
