Skrida, stunningly designed holiday home, perfectly placed in the picturesque valley of Svarfadardalur. The house has 3 bedrooms, a large, open-plan living room, dining room and kitchen, outdoor hot tub, offering breathtaking views of the valley. A newly installed, very fast internet connection allows facilities for remote working. It is 5 min. drive from the fishing village of Dalvik with a supermarket, swimming pool, health center, culture house, wine shop and easy access to main sights.

The space
Skrida was built in 2005. The house is spacious 138 m2 with a very modern interior design, and offers a unique and picturesque view of the surrounding mountainside through floor-to-ceiling glass on three walls of the main room.

Guests have access to all spaces in Skrida. It will be all yours.

Other things to note
When in Skrida, it is easy to go to the very nice swimming pool in Dalvik where locals meet regularly. The village also has a supermarket, a wine shop, a pharmacy and a health center and some restaurants as well as the culture house Berg. The museum in Dalvik is worth visiting, not to mention the whale watching facilities. Also, for those interested in horse-riding, there is a very good facility near Dalvik.

The valley of Svarfadardalur is considered one of the most beautiful valleys in Iceland. Set on the Troll Peninsula (Tröllaskagi), it is surrounded by high and picturesque mountains. A river flows through the valley where it is possible to fish for arctic char, brown trout and sea trout.

Lives in Reykjavík, Iceland
I am Gudrun, a retired medical doctor living in Reykjavik. Our family owns an old renovated farmhouse, Gröf, in the valley. The modern house we are renting out on Airbnb, Skrida, is in a picturesque setting up in the mountains, on land belonging to the farm. We are lucky to have good neighbours: my late husband's cousin, Sigurdur Bjarni, lives on the next farm, Brautarhóll, with his wife Jenny and they are very good caretakers for Skrida.
