About this listing
Welcome to our sweet house in Morro Bay. We love our town, and we know you will too: ocean view from the kitchen window, a 1/2 walk to a nearby walking beach, about two blocks to a lovely park. We've got a nice, comfy house in a friendly neighborhood
We love our house. It's comfy and warm, a good place to be together. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the necessities for cooking the sorts of meals that will make you want to stay at the table. The bed linens are sparkly clean and used just for you.
We'd love for you to make yourself at home here at the Hendrix House. Have a glass of wine under twinkle lights on the back patio; lounge, cook, watch a movie in our big open living area.
Interaction with Guests
We love to camp, so while you're enjoying our home we're adventuring in our vintage camping trailer.
Come have a nice long walk on the beach--or rent some boogie boards nearby and get wet. The beach is just beyond Hwy 1--roughly a 1/2 mile to the water. Our house sits directly across from a local elementary school and just about a block from wonderful Del Mar Park.
If you've got the soul for it, you can jump on the Morro Bay Transit. It will take you all over town (just get ready for LOTS of stops!) In the summertime, try the open air Morro Bay Trolley. It's a fun way to ride. If you've got bikes, bring them--Morro Bay is fun to ride around. The local bike trail begins at the beach and lets out just near downtown. Bikes with gears work best in Morro Bay (cruisers are cute, but there's a whopper of a hill to downtown that will make you wish you had a couple of extra gears . . .). If you like your car, parking is free in most places in Morro Bay.
Other Things to Note
While our house is listed as offering essentials, we ask that you bring your own personal toiletries. We are happy to provide fresh linens and towels. Because we use our garage to store personal items, we're sorry not to be able to offer access to our laundry. We happily provide the address of a nearby laundromat.
We are big believers in the Scouts' rule to leave a place better than you found it, and we feel sure that our fellow Airbnb friends will treat our home with the same loving care.
Our only hard and fast rule is that we cannot welcome any pets. Neither can we bend about allowing smoking on the property. Our children struggle with allergies and asthma, so we can't risk these factors.
Ginger was very nice and easily reached over the phone, key pickup was a breeze. The house was nice and welcoming with a great little private yard where we had a fun brunch at the picnic table before setting off for the day. It made my family and I feel right at home while we were in town for my cousin's wedding. Very quiet neighborhood. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Morro Bay.
A great location in a very quiet neighborhood. It is just a short walk to the beach and just down the street from one of the best Taco joints you will ever go to, Taco Temple. The house was very clean and comfortable for a family.
Lovely house for a family vacation in a great location. Walking distance to the beach and a great play park. A few minutes to the delights of downtown Morro Bay - all the easier to enjoy with Ginger's local-knowledge recommendations.
We enjoyed our stay in Morro Bay, whale watching, wine tasting and relaxing on the nearby beach.
The house was clean, comfortable and big enough for all 5 of us. It was just a 10 minute walk to the beach and walking distance to the grocery store for provisions. The kitchen was perfect for cooking the family meals. Ginger has a great book collection for browsing too!
All in all we really had a good time and would return. Our only disappointment was the occasional fog that you get along the coast at this time of year; so we'll come back after September next time.
We rented this charming, homey, cozy and very clean beach getaway for a long girls weekend. To tell the truth, the reality is better than the pictures. Ginger leaves a very welcoming letter for you, full of tips on places to go, restaurants nearby. The beach is a two-minute drive away. Downtown Morro Bay is five minutes away on the highway. We loved staying here. The beds were comfy and made up with the freshest smelling sheets this side of your grandma's. The kitchen is well-apponted should you like to cook. There is plenty of room for hanging out, playing cards/board games, and chatting. There are two patios, front and back so you can sit wherever the sun and your fancy takes you. I would stay here again in a hot minute. My guests loved it. If you are a family with a couple of kids, it will be perfect for you. Highly, highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay, great house with lots of room and living space. We would definitely stay again!
Wonderful and cozy house, really suitable for families that want to spend some time bonding, cooking together, playing board games, or just conversing in a spacious well lit living room. Location is in a quiet area, also close enough to Morro Rock and downtown San Luis Obispo. Ginger was very responsive and accomodating. It was our own fault we didn't check if the house had a hair dryer but she was kind enough to drop one off. Definitely would recommend staying here if you're looking for something more suburban but still want to be close enough to SLO or the beaches. We had a very pleasant time.

About the Host, Ginger
We're a family of five, and we love Morro Bay. While guests are in our home, we're camping around the beaches and mountains of California. We get adventure; you get coziness. :)
