Welcome to our sweet house in Morro Bay. We love our town, and we know you will too. Ocean view from the kitchen window, walking distance to a nearby beach and lovely park, just a short bike ride from downtown Morro Bay. A good spot for fun and relaxing together.
We love our house. It's comfy and warm, a good place to be together. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the necessities for cooking the sorts of meals that will make you want to stay at the table. The bed linens are sparkly clean and used just for you.
We'd love for you to make yourself at home here at the Hendrix House. Play wii in the garage; have a glass of wine under twinkle lights on the back patio; lounge, cook, watch a movie in our big open living area.
We love to camp, so while you're enjoying our home we're adventuring in our vintage camping trailer. (Everybody wins!)
Come have a nice long walk on the beach--or rent some boogie boards nearby and get wet. The beach is just beyond Hwy 1--roughly a 5 block walk to the water. Our house sits directly across from a local elementary school and just about a block from wonderful Del Mar Park.
If you've got the soul for it, you can jump on the Morro Bay Transit. It will take you all over town (just get ready for LOTS of stops!) In the summertime, try the open air Morro Bay Trolley. It's a fun way to ride. If you've got bikes, bring them--Morro Bay is fun to ride around. The local bike trail begins at the beach and lets out just near downtown. Bikes with gears work best in Morro Bay (cruisers are cute, but there's a whopper of a hill to downtown that will make you wish you had a couple of extra gears . . .). If you like your car, parking is free in most places in Morro Bay.
If you want or need anything in particular, just let us know and we'll do our best to get you set up.
Ginger Hendrix and her husband are great people, and their home is so comfortable and welcoming. There were six of us, four adults and two boys (4 and 6 years old). The space is so generous that we could all be at home and have our own space! I can't say enough about this wonderful spot, other than to say come stay here.
Thank you, Hendrix family, for a great vacation:)
The Hendrix House was a wonderful place to stay. Six family members gathered there for the sad occasion of my father's memorial and it was a very warm and welcoming place for us to gather. Ginger was responsive and easy to deal with. I would recommend this home in a heartbeat. Thank you Ginger!
The Hendrix home is bright and comfortable for the 5 adults who stayed over the Thanksgiving holiday. A convenient location for cycling north to Harmony and south to Los Osos. The plumbing decided to misbehave on Thanksgiving and Ginger dealt with the matter promptly which was appreciated. If you have children, the home is conveniently located near an elementary school with play space. If you love gourmet tacos, Taco Temple is just down the road and shouldn't be missed...however, it is a cash/local check only.
The Hendrix House is a dream. It was the perfect place for our family getaway to celebrate my father's 60th birthday- spacious yet cozy, charmingly decorated, and equipped with everything you could possibly imagine- right down to our favorite board games and an outdoor fireplace, grill, and twinkle lights. It is also very close to a stunning beach for sunset watching, a delicious taco shop, and a supermarket. We will definitely be back!
We had a great time staying at the Hendrix Family house and highly recommend it. It is in a great location and is a very comfortable house that is nicely decorated and is quite big. It comfortably slept 4 for our visit. Ginger was very responsive and great to work with. She even left us fresh eggs and local bread for our visit. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a family house in Morro Bay!
We drove the California coast (Highway 1) from Carmel to Morro Bay. Ginger's home was a welcome place to spread out and relax for a few days. We had three aging relatives, all over 80 years old, with us. They appreciated the single level home, with just one step to enter the door, and the grab bars in the showers (one a tub-shower, and one a walk-in shower). The livingroom and dinning room had pleanty of places to visit with comfortable seating. For the more vigorous in the party, the half-mile walk to the beach was pleasant through the neighborhoods. Then we could walk along the surf with beautiful views in all directions. Ginger was helpful with arranging for our days in Morro Bay, & kept in touch with us to attend to any needs we had.
Great place and a very convenient location, only minutes away from the beach. The house is clean, well furnished and has a fully equipped kitchen (if you plan to cook). Ginger is a great host who went out of her way to make my family feel welcome. Look forward to going back there!

Ginger was great. She was always available, and her house had everything we could need. The area was beautiful and very relaxing. I definitely recommend it!
Ginger's house was PERFECT for us. We had 4 adults and 3 small children under 4 staying with us and we could not have asked for a better situation. They even had some toys around that our girls took advantage of. Super close to a great park and a short distance to the beach. Loved our stay there and love Morro Bay!
