Welcome to our sweet house in Morro Bay. We love our town, and we know you will too. Ocean view from the kitchen window, walking distance to a nearby beach and lovely park, just a short bike ride from downtown Morro Bay. A good spot for fun and relaxing together.
We love our house. It's comfy and warm, a good place to be together. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the necessities for cooking the sorts of meals that will make you want to stay at the table. The bed linens are sparkly clean and used just for you.
We'd love for you to make yourself at home here at the Hendrix House. Play wii in the garage; have a glass of wine under twinkle lights on the back patio; lounge, cook, watch a movie in our big open living area.
Interaction with Guests
We love to camp, so while you're enjoying our home we're adventuring in our vintage camping trailer. (Everybody wins!)
Come have a nice long walk on the beach--or rent some boogie boards nearby and get wet. The beach is just beyond Hwy 1--roughly a 5 block walk to the water. Our house sits directly across from a local elementary school and just about a block from wonderful Del Mar Park.
If you've got the soul for it, you can jump on the Morro Bay Transit. It will take you all over town (just get ready for LOTS of stops!) In the summertime, try the open air Morro Bay Trolley. It's a fun way to ride. If you've got bikes, bring them--Morro Bay is fun to ride around. The local bike trail begins at the beach and lets out just near downtown. Bikes with gears work best in Morro Bay (cruisers are cute, but there's a whopper of a hill to downtown that will make you wish you had a couple of extra gears . . .). If you like your car, parking is free in most places in Morro Bay.
Other Things to Note
If you want or need anything in particular, just let us know and we'll do our best to get you set up.
We are big believers in the Scouts' rule to leave a place better than you found it, and we feel sure that our fellow Airbnb friends will treat our home with the same loving care.
Our only hard and fast rule is that we cannot welcome any pets. Neither can we bend about allowing smoking on the property. Our children struggle with allergies and asthma, so we can't risk these factors.
We, two couples both with small children, rented the Hendrix house for a couple of days. The house had a nice welcoming, family-feel to it. Ginger left a good note with helpful details such as where to buy groceries locally and a list of recommendations for things to do and places to eat out. We tried Shine, a vegan restaurant with very nice food. And also did some grocery shopping in Spencer's supermarket which is conveniently located a few blocks away.
The beach was nearby, about a 15 minute walk away. Our children loved playing in the sand and my husband managed to enjoy an early morning run along the shoreline. There were two children's play-parks close by and one of them was literally around the corner.
We took a drive up to Piedras Blancas Rookery to watch the elephant seals. It was a lovely drive up the coast and we were delighted to see so many seals still on the beach.
Ginger told us we could use her juicer and to help ourselves to the oranges in her patio. We had gorgeous orange juice every morning while we stayed.
I would not recommend the house for very young, inquisitive children. My four year old was fine but our curious toddler wanted to get into everything. They have lovely musical instruments around the house and also some glass/ceramic molds in very accessible places so I was a little nervous in case he caused any damage. For the rest, it is a nice property in a convenient location.
Ginger was very prompt to answer all my inquiries and everyone had a terrific time! We enjoyed our stay at the house and Morro Bay.
My friends and I drove up the coast over a holiday weekend and needed a last-minute spot to stay during our trip. Ginger went out of her way to accommodate our request, and we couldn't have been happier with the outcome.
Her house is clean, welcoming, and spacious (there was plenty of room for the 5 of us). It's on the corner of a quiet street, just blocks from the ocean.
I would stay there again and would definitely recommend it to others.
Ginger was super helpful and responsive to all of our messages and the house was a lovely place for us to stay over the thanksgiving holiday. It was clean and was well located with lots of markets and food close by. We had a really great stay and the only fault we could possibly pick is that it's a little further to the beach than we had hoped. Overall, we would highly recommend
We had a great visit in Morro Bay. Nice to stay in a home with artistic personal touches and real CA vibe. The area is a good base for seeing Hearst castle and Paso Robles. Wonderful beach for sunset. Cute tourist area with good seafood or Gingers recommended Taco Temple (huge portions!) In all, a delightful first stay using Air BnB. Thanks!
The Hendrix house was fantastic: It's very spacious (even more than the pictures show) and is nicely updated and clean. The 6 of us that stayed and our 3 dinner guests one night never felt cramped at all. My kids loved the orange tree on the patio and the huge chalkboard in the dining room. The beach is a short drive and there are a number of good restaurants close by. Be sure to go to the Morro Bay harbor and check out the sea otters!
My friends and I traveled to the area for a triathlon and decided to make a weekend out of it. The Hendrix home was perfect for our needs, enough beds & space, & 2 bathrooms - a must with 6 girls! The kitchen had all of the necessities, we brought our own groceries & specialty items. The house is within walking distance of the beach (we took advantage of this) & is on a quiet street where we felt safe. The backyard picnic table was nice for our carbo-loading dinner. We all felt comfortable & right at home. The Hendrix family left us a wonderful note wishing us luck & lots of info on the area. We were so appreciative of the cozy place to stay & relax pre & post triathlon. Thanks to Ginger & co.
Our family, including grandparents (in their 80’s), stayed at Ginger’s home for our daughter’s graduation from Cal Poly. The house was perfect for this event.
First off, the house was immaculate. It’s a joy to stay in a very clean house. The beds were very comfortable. The layout of the house is very conducive for groups. There is a nice big table in the family room, right off the kitchen. The kitchen was very useable. We had 2 breakfasts and a dinner there.
For the kids, there were games provided. They enjoyed Jenga and Pictionary. Also the wi-fi worked great. The 16yr old slept in the top bunk and she thought the cubby built next to the bunkbeds was great (it’s a small space containing a desk with a beanbag loft above it).
The location was very nice. We liked getting away from the hubbub of Cal Poly and all its graduation traffic. We got to spend some time in Morro Bay at the waterfront. We had a nice graduation dinner at the Fish Bonez.
I would certainly recommend Ginger’s place for anyone staying in this area. We had a great time.
