The Space

Hardwood floors, great views, lovely neighborhood and a quiet street that is still near all the action in in the Mission and Noe Valley.

Guest Access

24 hours plus a lovely garden.

Interaction with Guests

I do not live there while people are in the house.

The Neighborhood

You're situated in one of the best neighborhoods in San Francisco for nightlife and access to the city. There's a fabulous park up the hill roughly a 10-minute walk from the front door. From there you get views of the Golden gate Bridge as well as the Bay Bridge and the entire Silicon Valley Peninsula -- wave to (website hidden), (website hidden) and Intel! It's really wonderful at first light or at sunset. To get there simply keep walking uphill and look for staircases in between some of the houses that lead up to the next block. It's also a great area to walk dogs so you'll see lots of neighbors out.

Mission Street is the main street below the house where you'll find dozens of restaurants including tacos, burritos, Thai food, Chinese and some great higher-end places.

Getting around

There are a number of buses that pick up at the corner of Mission and Fair immediately below the house. The 14 and 49 Muni Bus head a long mission all the way downtown. If you walk 15 minutes down Mission Street, you reach the 24th St. BART station. Note that walking around the BART station late at night alone requires caution. There have been occasional purse snatching's in that neighborhood. You will want to be alert.

There are a half dozen zip car locations within a half-mile of the house. If you have a membership, it's a great deal at $7-$15 an hour including gas and insurance. Look them up for short term (email hidden)

Enterprise rent a car has a facility at 13th and Mission and if you call ahead they will come pick you up for your rental free of charge. Use this for rentals over 4 hours, i.e., 24 hour units.

  • Ben was a terrific host. I booked Ben's place for a business trip for employees - and according to them it was a great place in a cool location. I will gladly book there again.

  • We stayed together with our 10 month old daughter at Ben's place and it was just fantastic. A super comfy Kingsize bed. A big kitchen with a nice long table. A clean bathroom. A view over the city. A very good connection into the city with the bus or Bart (just a small walk) Good places for breakfast, coffee and dinner nearby. We missed absolutely nothing.

  • Ben was easy to deal with, and his place is great. The house is in a good location within Bernal Heights, and there are lots of great little restaurants nearby.

  • Ben's place is in a great location, we really loved Bernal Heights. It's a 10-15minute walk to 24th st BART in case you want to head Downtown. But really there is so much in The Mission & Bernal Heights you'll be thrilled. Great coffee (& pie) at Mission Pie. You can hike up Bernal Heights Park, visit Alemany Farmerks Market & Cortland Ave for great eats. 24th st area is loaded with eats & it's only a 25min walk to Dolores Park. Ben is very friendly & accommodating. His place is big and comfortable. Great to have a washing machine & the wifi is excellent. Thanks for a great stay, Ben! We were sad to leave your area.

  • location and stay was excellent. Only challenge was parking, but that seems to be the norm for SF
