Great location

Extremely private wooded getaway nestled deep in the woods overlooking the Wood River, about an hour drive from the Twin Cities & 1.5 miles from the St Croix River. With many modern touches, it's still very much a cabin. Relax outside on the wood deck on top of the ravine or in the large screen porch. Get cozy by the wood-stove, fire-pit or swim in the river. Enjoy total seclusion or visit many local restaurants & parks with great hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, birding, and skiing nearby.

The space
A long winding driveway leads to a wonderfully secluded hidden get-away in 16.5 acres of heavy forest. The modern, two bedroom cabin has a clean and relaxing feel with a quiet sense of peacefulness coming from the surrounding woods and sound of the Wood River below. It has a fully equipped kitchen with gas range, full bath with shower, an open dining and living room with a wood-burning stove, a large 4K UHD TV including Netflix and an eclectic collection of DVDs. You'll enjoy a high quality stereo system with Bluetooth and a wide assortment of CDs.

The cabin can be a great place to get some work done too, with reliable high-speed fiber-optic wireless, many comfy places to sit and work inside and out, and a new central air-conditioning and high-efficiency gas heat system throughout provides year round comfort no matter what the temperature outside. You can also fire up the indoor wood stove for the warmth and romance of a cozy fire!

The large master bedroom has a luxurious queen bed prepared with organic linens, an adjustable ceiling fan, storage for clothes and personal items, and an HDTV with DVD player. The second bedroom includes 2 comfortable beds, (a twin and full) made with organic linens, a ceiling fan, and storage for personal items.

The large screen porch has a breakfast table, a quiet lounge area and a super comfy double papasan couch, perfect for napping or cuddling...

The wooden deck right outside the living room has comfy Adirondack chairs, a large gas grill, dining table with 4 chairs and a beautiful view of the steep ravine down to the pristine Wood River.

There is ample parking, enough for severals cars and even space for a trailer to turn around.

UPDATE: We are paying extra attention to cleaning and sanitizing. Our housekeeper takes great pride in making sure every surface is sanitized for your safety.

Where you’ll be

Grantsburg, Wisconsin, United States

While being on a lake can be like being in a goldfish bowl with no privacy, our river setting has total privacy and has no other homes within sight.

The cabin sits atop a beautiful ravine along the Wood River. There is a nice wide path along the top of the ravine that leads to a steep rope-lined incline down to the river, with a second fire-pit, sitting area and small sand beach to access the nice sand bottomed river.

The cabin is approximately 1.5 miles from the St Croix River, a Nationally designated Wild & Scenic River. Canoe and kayak rental services are available only one mile away on Hwy 70. The nearby area includes many excellent hiking, biking, and ski trails accessible to all ages. Brandt Pines is a favorite location and is just a couple miles north. Grocery stores and restaurants in Grantsburg are just a mile or two east. Crex Meadows Wildlife Sanctuary draws people from all over the country for spectacular bird watching and is just on the other side of Grantsburg. However, just staying home at the cabin around a coxy fire and chilling out or adventuring down the ravine to the river is also a great option.
