About This Listing
Private room with a queen size bed. Guests have use of a private bath and shared use of kitchen. There are two separate sitting areas for you to relax in or you can elect to sit on the patio and watch your favorite show.
I do have a dog and your dog is welcome. Sorry, no cats due to allergies.
The house is in a great location across the Ashley River from downtown and just a short drive to the beaches. A two minute walk puts you at the bus stop for a 15 minute ride to downtown. If you prefer it is only a 3 mile drive or bike ride into historic Charleston. You can spend your evenings at one of the fine establishments in the Avondale area west of the Ashley. You will be enjoying your favorite beverage at the outdoor restaurants/bars after a peaceful half mile walk through my neighborhood lined with live oak trees.
Two bicycles are available for your use. Downtown is any easy bike ride or you can ride the 10.5 mile West Ashley Greenway or 2.5 mile West Ashley Bikeway nearby. Two beach chairs along with beach towels and a cooler are available for your use.
A sleeper sofa also is available in a private den for an additional fee if necessary. A hair dryer, iron and washer/dryer are also provided.
Have fun and enjoy your visit!!
Randy was a tireless host, answering and reanswering numerous questions since this was our first foray into Airbnb. He made sure I had everything I needed. He's the perfect host. The house was in an ideal location, within walking distance to many restaurants and an amazing thrift store that benefits kids with cancer. The neighborhood has mostly older homes from the 40's and 50's, and is very quiet and safe. There was always someone out walking their dog when I was out wondering the neighborhood. I was there for a soccer tournament with my 14 year old daughter and the location was perfect for going into downtown and the soccer complex on James Island. Randy was very gracious and allowed us to use his bikes to ride on the West Ashley Greenway, which is super close and easy to get to from his house. It is a heavenly place to ride with sections canopied with trees and Jasmine. Randy had left a bus schedule, recommendations on places to eat and drink, as well as a map of Charleston. If you have no time constraints, taking the bus into downtown might be a great option since parking down there is difficult and expensive. My daughter did not like the idea of staying in someone else's house at first, but she really enjoyed it and was so happy we stayed here instead of with her teammates in a hotel that was far from the soccer fields and downtown. I had a wonderful visit and new love - Charleston!
super friendly and accommodating, Randy has his place set up to be very comfortable to guests. Great patio sitting area too!
Randy was super friendly and helpful. He had a really good list of places to eat, drink and play. The place was clean and in a good location. I would definitely stay there again.
Randy was a great host. His place was very comfortable, and conveniently located to be accessible to downtown via a quick drive or uber. I would agree that if you have pet allergies, the dog might cause them to act up, but was not a major concern for us. The way the house is setup, you practically have your own private bed/bath. He was very helpful with recommendations on what to do and most importantly where to eat. We had a great stay in Charleston and would love to come back.
We stayed one night at Randy's house. He was very accommodating and had great food/nightlife suggestions. Randy contacted us in the morning and asked if we wanted to swing by, drop off our luggage, and pick up Beach chairs on our way to Folly Beach. His house is in close proximity to downtown, Folly Beach, and eclectic little restaurants in Avondale. It's a great location and very comfortable! We can't wait to come back again!
You couldn't ask for a nicer host than Randy. He welcomed us into his home as if we were family & make us feel right at home.
About the Host, Randy
I moved to Charleston in 2012 to open my own business. Along with my marketing business directed to people moving into the area I am a licensed real estate agent. I absolutely love it here. I love getting out exploring this great city. I am an avid sports fan. I have traveled throughout the US, Latin America, Europe and Argentina. I love meeting new people and learning more about them. I also enjoy helping them find their way around Charleston.
I look forward to helping make your stay in Charleston a great one.
