About this listing
Private room with a queen size bed. Guests have use of a private bath and shared use of kitchen. There are two separate sitting areas for you to relax in or you can elect to sit on the patio and watch your favorite show.
I do have a dog and your dog is welcome. Sorry, no cats due to allergies.
The house is in a great location across the Ashley River from downtown and just a short drive to the beaches. A two minute walk puts you at the bus stop for a 15 minute ride to downtown. If you prefer it is only a 3 mile drive or bike ride into historic Charleston. However, Charleston is not a very bike friendly town at the present time. You can spend your evenings at one of the fine establishments in the Avondale area west of the Ashley. You will be enjoying your favorite beverage at the outdoor restaurants/bars after a peaceful half mile walk through my neighborhood lined with live oak trees.
Two bicycles are available for your use. Downtown is any easy bike ride or you can ride the 10.5 mile West Ashley Greenway or 2.5 mile West Ashley Bikeway nearby. Two beach chairs along with beach towels and a cooler are available for your use.
A sleeper sofa also is available in a private den for an additional fee if necessary. A hair dryer, iron and washer/dryer are also provided.
Have fun and enjoy your visit!!
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. This place is only ~3 miles away from downtown Charleston and ~9 miles from Folly Beach. He is a great host. He will always pick up your phone call and answer any question you have. A+ host.
Randy was a great host. He was very communicative and flexible when our travel plans had to change last minute. Additionally the neighborhood is beautiful and there are a lot of amenities within walking distance. The location is spot on with nice surrounding areas but also close to downtown and not too far from the beach.
We loved our stay! Even though it was only a night we really enjoyed Randy's place. We didn't get to meet him (unfortunately) but he was an amazing host even from a distance! The place is sweet and in a great location and Randy had great tips for the best spots in town! Thanks Randy!
We had a good time at Randy's. It was a close drive to all of the Charleston hot spots, but out of the chaos. We took a run around Avondale and enjoyed the neighborhood. Randy left a nice list of bars and restaurant suggestions. The only downside was not getting to meet Addie and Randy after all of the great reviews we have read (they were out of town for the weekend).
Randy was welcoming and friendly. He was away for most of our stay so we had the run of the house. He was also responsive which made communication easy.
Randy was SUPER accommodating. His place is awesome with this cool outdoor space with hanging chairs and tables. It was about a 10 minute cab or uber ride to downtown Charleston. He even helped us out when our airbnb for the next night abruptly canceled with a place he frequents on the beach. We were super happy with this choice.
Really enjoyed my stay in Charleston. Randy and Addie Mae were wonderful hosts. Both went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. The house is very thoughtfully configured to allow maximum privacy for the guests. The community of Avondale has an eclectic mix of restaurants and bars, all within walking distance—as is the grocery store. It was an easy eight-minute drive to the Battery at the tip Charleston proper. Highly recommended.
About the Host, Randy
I moved to Charleston in 2012 to open my own business. Along with my marketing business directed to people moving into the area I am a licensed real estate agent. I absolutely love it here. I love getting out exploring this great city. I am an avid sports fan. I have traveled throughout the US, Latin America, Europe and Argentina. I love meeting new people and learning more about them. I also enjoy helping them find their way around Charleston.
I look forward to helping make your stay in Charleston a great one.
