Welcome to this lovely 2-bedroom one-bathroom house at walking distance to many fabulous places such as: the Grove, Farmers Market, Beverly Center (in door mall), the famous Hollywood, Down Town and so much more. great location in Melrose!
Wonderful stay at this apartment. Very clean, very spacious, and quite homey. Especially enjoyed the outdoor space (some in front, some in back)!
Only minor complaints include lack of soap / toiletries (not compulsory, but would be nice) and e-mail responsiveness - otherwise great.
The house was in a great location and central to all major areas. The place was very clean, tidy and well maintained. Everything is as you see in the photos. Highly recommended for a comfortable LA stay.
Location, size and decor were great! Beds were very comfortable. Internet only worked in certain rooms. Most of the light bulbs were out but that has been reported to host and should be updated. Noise travels easily through apt and we could hear through the wall to the apt next door.
Easy and convenient. Great location walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Also really close to universal studios about a 15 min drive. The house is a little basic and older but the age adds to the charm. Lovely large posters of Disney scenes really made the place feel fun and homely. Bathroom newly renovated and everything was clean and working and they have a washing machine and dryer and even provide detergent.
Great stay would definitely come back. :)
Clean house, great neighbourhood, silent street, nice patio. Close to everywhere like Groove, Beverly Center, Hollywood etc. Strictly recommended. The only think is there is no remote control of TV unit :) You should control it via using buttons next to the TV.
I love the "grove" house on N. Alta Vista. The place was absolutely perfect. The master bedroom with the french doors opening into the garden backyard and the shower was the highlight for me. It is so close to Melrose and walking distance to so many things. This is the second Angie rental I've stayed in and she's been great. I can't wait to come back to this house and just relax in the bedroom looking out into the garden!
Comfortable home away from home.
Safe and quiet neighbourhood.
The door a bit stiff to open at first but soon get used to.
If you drive...must be one of the best locations to stay in LA.
Beautiful home!!!!! Great location..... I loved it. I didn't realized how close it was to everything.
TERRIBLE: Why no other bad reviews? Probably because if you eventually cancel your stay, Airbnb will not allow you to leave a review unless you send it to them via email to be reviewed.
House was disgusting! As soon as we arrived we noticed gnats flying around the house and spiders and spider webs in the bathroom, above the beds, in the kitchen, above the sofa. Dead bugs were all over the bathroom walls. Within a few days we had bug bites on us and bugs would fly into our food and drinks. The home owner asked if the house was like that before we got there. Like brought all the spiders and webs with me? We checked in on Monday, the home owner didnt send someone to clean till Friday. The cleaner was rude as soon as she arrived. We showed her and she immediately grabbed a broom and started knocking the dead bugs and spiders off the walls and ceiling onto our belongings! It was a nightmare! I said, "Omg please stop!" She got very upset, left, and never returned to finish cleaning.
On the same day we told the maintenance guy that the front door lock wasn't working. We couldn't unlock/lock the door so one of us had to stay home to let the other in and out the side door, otherwise we would've had to leave the house unlocked if we left together. So for several days my husband went to visit our friends and do things while I stayed at the rental to let him back in. Also on that Friday, the maintenance man was working with the AC ducts and took the filters out, never to put new ones in! Dozens of flies were flying into the house through the ducts during the hot day to escape the outside heat. It was like a horror movie with 40 something flies on the walls and ceiling of the hallway.
We asked Airbnb if we could leave but they wanted to give Angie ample time to fix issues. After six nights at the house with our issues not being resolved, we asked Angie directly if we could leave. Angie would not refund us and told airbnb that she had sent someone to the house almost everyday to fix issues, which was an outright lie.
Lastly, the AC doesn't work well. It's cold at night and very hot during the day no matter what you set the AC at. The beds are not real beds. They are box springs with thin mats on top. One bed is actually just springs, exposed metal springs with a blanket on top! Also, the shower water doesnt drain well. I can't believe how bad our stay was. Seriously ridiculous. We were only finally permitted to leave, by airbnb, after seven whole nights dealing with this insanity and constantly calling airbnb and Angie to get issues resolved. Airbnb was very sympathetic in tone but only let us leave after seven nights there.
