The house is an 1895 Victorian that has been remodeled in a clean, modern aesthetic combined with a collection of art by local artists. This home is quintessential Boise.
5 minutes to downtown Boise, Camelsback Park, Hyde Park and the Boise Co-Op. Treasure Valley YMCA and Java coffee shop for workouts and mornings.
I'm always a text away. Feel free and let me know if you'd like to try some local flavor - food, sites, music, non-profits.
The North End of Boise is remarkable for its 100+ year history combined with its proximity to downtown and untouched nature. Countless miles of trails in Camelsback for hiking and biking only a few blocks away. White water rafting down the Payette is a 45 minute drive and floating the Boise River requires nothing more than jumping in. Let me know if you'd like passes to The Springs in Idaho City...
Boise is my home, but I travel frequently. I love welcoming guests to this fantastic city.
Boise is one of the most bikeable cities in the US. Hop on a bike at the Boise Bicycle Project or grab the bus, which stops on my block, to get downtown. You can also walk - just a few blocks to restaurants and less than a mile to downtown.
The house is pretty minimalist with a warm, calm feel to it. Pay a little extra attention to the furniture and I will be so grateful!
One room upstairs is private, but the bedroom is all yours. Kitchen is next on the remodel journey.
My sister and I stayed here for 3 nights. It's a fabulous space in North End. I'm really happy I went with a stay in this great neighborhood. We chose a weekend with record breaking cold temperatures and loads of snow. John Michael!'s house was very cozy and comfortable. His next door neighbors were lovely and helped us get our car out of the snow. We ate out for all our meals, but his kitchen is great to cook in. Very comfy bed and walking distance to the co-op and coffee shops at Hyde Park. John Michael gave us great recommendations on restaurants as well as communal hot baths which we loved. If I find myself in Boise again (summer sounds great), I'd definitely return to this house!! Thank you!!
We stayed at the North End Victorian for 6 days. The house was in a great neighborhood and the location was very convenient to downtown. It was easy to park on the street. The house was a bit dark inside, but there were plenty of lights to turn on if needed. It got very stuffy and hot upstairs during the night, but there was air conditioning. Also, if you have to use the restroom at night, the bathroom is downstairs and through the kitchen. And I couldn't quite find a place to hang my dresses and jackets or a place to put my toiletries. The Apple TV was great to use, as well as the fast wifi. Overall, we had a fair stay.
We spent 6 days in John's house and we felt really good there. The house is really nice, and the garden is great.
The neighborhood is perfect : very quiet, green and close from downtown.
We would definitely recommend John's house. :)
I came into town with the Broadway musical Wicked at the Morrison Center. I stayed at John's adorable home and was more than happy. The place is just adorable, in the perfect neighborhood, near camels back park if you have a pet or just like little hikes. John was awesome on his communication. Anything that needed tending to was taken care of in a timely manner. As for the house it's super clean and super charming. Wether you are coming to Boise to enjoy the nature and the beauty or for work, John's tranquil home will be well worth it over any hotel in town.
We had a wonderful time retreating back to this clean and comfortable house close to everything after exploring Boise and the Idaho countryside. Communicating with John Michael was easy; he suggested places to go and music to see. The neighborhood is inviting, just a few minutes walk to a few restaurant/bar choices. If you don't mind an upstairs bedroom (downstairs bath), this place is worth checking out. When we find ourselves back in Boise, we'll be staying here again!
This little home is a gem in the Boise North District. The minimalistic decor and warm colors mixed with authentic furniture will make you feel at home. John Michael was a great host and made sure we were well taken care of.
If you ever find yourself in Boise, I would recommend staying here if its available.
This is a very cute house in a great location. The host was helpful and responsive. When we asked for a rolling pin and there wasn't one in the house, he even sent the next door neighbor over to lend us one. The bedroom isn't pictured on airbnb. It's private with a nice queen bed. The bath tub is great, backyard is cute, interesting art throughout, big fur rug on the floor, interesting books to peruse, kitchen items that a cook will appreciate including quality knives and many pans. Two thumbs up for John and his cool home!

Life keeps me moving and traveling, so when I am not home, I love to share with other travelers the beauty and incredible community that is Boise. Come stay awhile and enjoy everything within walking distance of my North End home.
