We had a great time staying at the house! The location is pretty good (right near a bus stop for downtown, walking distance to shops, coffee, and a lot of breakfast tacos...), and the house itself was really nice!
The Little Yellow Cottage was perfect. Great location with easy access to downtown & the airport. The house was clean with all the necessities covered, from towels & shampoo, to kitchen ware & a wine bottle opener!
Mary was very accomodating, and helped us get in a little early when our schedule changed. We would definatly go back.
Mary was very welcoming, accommodating and very responsive. The cottage was super cute, clean, quiet and well taken care of. The place is walking distance to some great restaurants and cafes that feel off the beaten track, which was great. The cottage is also very close to the South Congress area if you are looking for more bustling and happening places. It's also close (maybe 10 min drive) to Barton Springs. I would recommend this place!
absolutely great! thanks so much!
-didn't have to worry that we weren't getting in till after midnight and leaving at the crack of dawn since there was a keypad instead of key
-binder full of recommendations
-bananas and english muffins set out for us in case of emergency :)
-plenty of towels
-Mary was accessible and responsive when I missed the wifi password, which she had already left out for us but I didn't notice at first
Mary was amazing - we would absolutely stay in the "little yellow cottage" again! I visited with 2 other girlfriends for ACL Fest. Mary was flexible with our arrival time, and had a binder full of helpful information out for us. She had also left us some snacks and drinks, which was so sweet and came in quite handy during our stay! The location was great and safe, and Mary was available if we needed her. She was quite thoughtful and hospitable. I definitely recommend! The place was great and Mary was fantastic from beginning to end.
While we never got to meet Mary during our time in Austin, she was a fantastic host and super accommodating. The electronic lock was super convenient and worked for our late night arrival from the airport. Mary wanted to know when we landed and checked in even late at night. She was super responsive to the Airbnb messaging system, text, and emails.
The cottage itself was amazing! It has two rooms, one with a large bad and the other with two twin beds. The back yard was great with a patio area for kicking back to play dominoes and enjoy a cocktail and large open grassy area for other activities. We wished we had more time to take advantage of the yard.
If TV is important to you, Mary's TV has a digital antenna so signal can be a little spotty. We only really turned on the TV on Sunday when we were packing and wanted to watch a little football. This is not a knock at all, just something to keep in mind. It's Austin, people, go explore and be weird!
Thank you for hosting us Mary! If we are ever back in Austin we will definitely consider your cottage again!
Overall I would very much recommend this house. The area is terrific (SOCO has a nice vibe and you have restaurants nearby).
The house is immaculately clean and you feel very comfortable. I love that the linens are all white and the bed covers are light, giving you a sense of cleanliness. Terrific choice!
Mary's emails prior to our arrival were super helpful and helped us arrive at ease. She left us cookies, water and other goodies which was a great surprise and treat!

I am a native Austinite and love the 78704 area of town. There are so many things you can do near this home like jogging on Town Lake, rent segways and bikes, kayaking/canoeing, eat at one of the many restaurants or just hang out and listen to some of Austin's best live music. This home is 1.5 miles from Town Lake and downtown.
