The most romantic spot in the most exciting part of Amsterdam? Our spacious houseboat in a historic lock with a large idyllic garden and a fantastic view over the IJ. Enjoy the tranquility, passing ships and the city skyline. In less than two minutes you can take the free ferry (24/7, every 5 minutes) in the center of Amsterdam! Walk straight to the Jordan with cozy cafes, restaurants, shops and special markets, the Nieuwmarkt or stroll along the famous Amsterdam canals. Or take the tram that takes you within five stops to all major museums like Van Gogh Museum, Stedelijk Museum, Rijksmuseum, Anne Frank house, the Hermitage etc. But from the houseboat you can walk starting at the 19th century lock to the architecturally striking Eye Film Institute with four cinema's, bar and restaurant, the Tolhuispark with music programming during Summertime and soon a hotel with revolving restaurant transformed as former Shell Tower. The houseboat is spacious (100m2) and light and has a modern bathroom, dishwasher, washer, dryer, central heating, free wifi etc. - We have central heating, double glass etc. which makes it also comfortable to stay during winter. The garden of 350 m2 offers complete privacy. Enjoy the whole day in our comfortable loungers in the sun. Swim in 'front' between the swans and ducks in the IJ. And light the barbecue or a campfire in the evening. The bedroom is approximately 6 x 2.5 m2. The view from your bedroom is on some houseboats and sailingboats, surrounded by trees. The houseboat can be rented from a minimum of two nights. We had some difficulty finding it, entirely our lack of direction, and Reinhart went out of his way to come find us and direct us back to the boat. He was very friendly and welcoming! The houseboat was very comfortable and absolutely stunning-- it would be a mistake to stay anywhere else! It's very easy to get around and very close to anything you could need. Thanks for everything! Just wish our stay could have been longer!

Hi, I am Reinhart, welcome to my profile: I have been living in Amsterdam for many years now. I work in the (international) creative industry. I like to travel, do city trips but also like to visit remote destinations. Love to be on the water, visit museums, go to theaters, enjoy live music, festivals, nice bar's and to meet nice people.
I enjoy to open my house to anyone that likes to have a truly local Amsterdam experience (on the water). We might meet soon?
