Cozy, bright room right next to the shared bathroom. Marpole is the best kick-off point for coming in and out of Vancouver via BC Ferries, the USA and the YVR airport. It's also very quick into the city via public transport.

The space

Our happy little home is 4 blocks from Marine Station (Canada Line of the Vancouver Skytrain) giving quick, easy access to much of the city - 20 minutes to downtown! The two single Sealy Posturepedic mattresses, ideal for a couple of buddies travelling together that need their sleeping space. The house is situated on a quiet street in a safe neighbourhood.

*One double bed
*Desk & chair
*Good size closet
*Free WiFi
*Free laundry facilities
*Free parking
*Shared full bathroom (another half bath close by. Only shared with one guest room, we have our own)

We are happy to share our living space with good natured, interesting people!

Note: We have one other room at this location, so you may not be the only guest at the time of your stay. And we do live here.

Guest access

Kitchen is available for light use. We have the basics. Please feel free to use what we have. We have a French press for coffee, about half a dozen of each plates and bowls, mugs, plenty of cutlery, a small space in the fridge for guests, some pots, pans etc. We don't have a microwave. If you like to make quick meals in a not so perfect kitchen great, this space will do just fine.

Interaction with guests

I am not always present for the guest's stay as I am sometimes working away. I enjoy sharing my space and have made some good friends. Usually though guests are busy and so am I and we rarely bump into each other.

Other things to note

***PLEASE FILL OUT YOUR AIRBNB PROFILE BEFORE BOOKING***
- I have one other Airbnb room that sleeps two.
- I pretty much always have guests in both rooms.
- This rooms share the bath, but there is another half bath downstairs.
- I also have my own bath so no one ever has to face any emergencies :)
- My son and I are sometimes home and sometimes not.

Just a quick note on this: I welcome travelling couples, but people travelling to Vancouver specifically to meet someone for a tryst in my family home. Just a word of advise, this not a great spot for it. It will probably be awkward especially for the person you may be trying to impress.

You can expect a very basic, warm, clean, place to sleep with light use of my kitchen being ok, so I prefer short stays. I'm not equipped for providing the space for long term guests. I want everyone to be happy with their stay, so I'd prefer to be up front about this. If all you are looking for is a very reasonable place to sleep my place is ideal.

Amy's place was a great find. Check in was easy. Close to everything and even though I didn't get to use public transportation, it seems like a short walk to get to it. Amy was fast to respond to my questions. Comfortable house, quiet neighborhood. You feel you have the whole house to yourself, even though there was another airbnber... The room was clean and the bed, OMG! the most comfy bed you will ever sleep on!!! I will definitely stay there again!

Great place to stay! It was very convenient to public transportation, the airport, and an easy drive to downtown. It was also conveniently located to the Van Dusen botanical gardens and Queen Elizabeth park. Although we never met Amy, she was easy to contact and she checked in on us during our stay. Thank you!

Amy was great! Easy Check In.She gave us good reccomendations on tourist activities. The house, room, and shower were very clean! We had a rental car so the house was only 15- 20 minutes driving from downtown Vancouver! When we stayed there was another couple in the room across from us that were very nice. Incredible stay and we want to go back! Vancouver is Beautiful!

Good location, just a 5 min walk to the SkyTrain stop. We stayed for 3 nights. Amy did all the communicating and answered questions that I had in a timely manner. When we arrived, getting the door key was easy and we were to free to come and go as we pleased. On the first night, nobody was there to greet us, but we did eventually see Amy and even Mark a day later. They were very nice hosts. There was another couple in the other room with us during the weekend. We hardly ran into them. All in all, it felt like we had the place to ourselves for the weekend, even though we didn't. Appreciated use of the kitchen and fridge space as that saved us some $$$ in the morning. Bed was comfy, house and bathroom were clean. Would definitely stay here again next time we come back.

I am a mom and a jock, horse lover and bird lover. I work as a operations manager for a local accounting firm and I come from Vancouver island.

It's actually a massive island with many sights of it's own, both in the city of Victoria (the capital of British Columbia) and outside in the natural environment, including hiking, climbing, surfing, scuba diving, ski hills, mountain biking - you name it! Vancouver offers a whole lot too!!!

We are a welcoming and open minded family who live simply and appreciate nature. We love sports around here, mine (and my son's) is soccer, which I've played for the past 22 years, horse back riding, climbing, golf, etc.
