If you like to make quick meals in a not so perfect kitchen great! You'll love it here!
Interaction with Guests
I am usually present for the guest's stay, although in the summer we may be away here and there. I enjoy sharing my space and have made many good friends. I have enjoyed a few drink with guests, gone climbing, barbequed with them. It all depends on the timing and the type of guests.
The neighbourhood itself is attractive, safe and quiet, the nearest shopping and restaurants is a 20 minute walk. Our guests have been very happy with the transport resources which quickly whisk them into town in 20 minutes to see all the splendor that Vancouver has to offer.

We stayed at Amy's place for 4 nights. She was very accommodating with our late arrival schedule and also the day when we were leaving, since we could leave our suitcases at her place until the afternoon. We only saw Amy the very last day of our stay, but she was friendly and welcoming. The room itself was a bit smaller than we expected judging from the picture, but perfectly OK for the two of us. The bed and pillows were not very comfortable (to me; my boyfriend was OK with them).
The house is very close to the airport and less than 10 min walk away from the air train, so very convenient to stay there if you arrive late like we did. However, the neighborhood is (too) quiet and there are very limited options for dinner, so we left the house in the morning and only returned after dinner, because in the center there are so many tempting possibilities! That made our days a bit longer and tiring than we would have liked. But on the other hand we had extremely nice weather so it was great to be outdoors.
A lovely, clean and welcoming place to stay with a nice comfy bed - great for catching up on sleep after long flights! Very easy to get into city as well as to the airport. The equipped kitchen was great for self caterers like ourselves as well. We stayed here while sorting ourselves out for our trip around Canada and plan on staying again when we return to Vancouver.
My boyfriend and I came to canada for our vacations to visit some friends that are living in the region. We've stayed at Amy's twice: for 4 days before went to whistler and for 3 days after we came back.
The house was great, really close from the skytrain, about 20 minutes from downtown. The room we've stayed was clean and cozy. Also Amy was very thoughtful, she gave us clean towels and lent us an umbrella in the rainy night that we've arrived.
I recommend her house for those who need a room in Vancouver, it was the perfect first experience at airbnb.
Amy is an awesome and ideal host. She's really hospitable and approachable. The room is clean and comfortable and the location is ideal. It is super close to the train station. I would highly recommend to stay at her apartment if you are visiting vancouver!

About the Host, Amy
I am a copywriter and internet marketing consultant. I grew up here on the glorious West Coast, and originally hail from the island just off the coast, Vancouver Island, known affectionately by locals as "The Rock".
It's actually a massive island with many sights of it's own, both in the city of Victoria (the capital of British Columbia) and outside in the natural environment, including hiking, climbing, surfing, scuba diving, ski hills, mountain biking - you name it! Vancouver offers a whole lot too!!!
We are a welcoming and open minded family who live simply and appreciate nature. We love sports around here, mine (and my son's) is soccer, which I've played for the past 22 years, rock climbing, golf, etc. If there is one thing my partner will never tire of, it is climbing and pretty much any outdoors activity!
