  • Raul was away during our stay but we were greeted and treated like family by his parents. If you like to travel like a “native” this is the perfect place. It is located in an apartment complex, just a 15 minute walk from the center of town, where you can shop from the locals. There is no shortage of local stands, markets and vendors. The apartment has all the essentials if you want to prepare your own meals. It is spacious and the bed is VERY comfortable.

  • Raul was the perfect host! My friend and I really enjoyed getting to know Raul during our 3 days in Cusco at his apt. His apt was spacious and very comfortable. It is located in a non-touristy area conveniently close to the Mercado Central de San Pedro where you can pick up all kinds of good stuff to eat and take home as souvenirs. The kitchen is well-stocked and included an electric teapot, coffee maker and microwave.

On our return trip from trekking to Machu Picchu, it was particularly nice to have the use of a washer & dryer in the apt. And for those travelers who need to know this, the hot water shower pressure isn't the best and a bit tricky to use but you get used to it.

We also enjoyed the use of Raul's stereo to listen to music and TV to watch DVDs in the living room. These little things and comforts from home helped to make our stay in Cusco that much more enjoyable.

Raul is an intelligent, talented young man and musician. He is fluent in English. Raul is kind, friendly, thoughtful and knowledgeable. He literally went the extra mile for us. He kindly took the time to take us to two Incan ruins just outside of Cusco, Q'enqo and Saqsaywayman (both highly recommended). We enjoyed Raul's warm hospitality/company and learned a great deal about the fascinating ancient cultures of his people and country.

Fantastic overall experience and highly recommended host/apt.

  • Raul is a great person - very laid back and willing to be of help. He even walked us around the local area on our arrival so we could locate the market and supermarket. The apartment is located very conveniently to everything you may need to make your stay comfortable. The rooms are spacious and airy. However, the apartment is somewhat rundown and in desperate need of a thorough cleaning. It was also very cluttered with a lot of personal items.

    Response from Raul:

Sorry but i have to move, pack and storage some of my personal stuff somewhere in the house in order to host you. Also you came 4 days after your friends and their dog checked in, house is not gonna look as clean as the first checking day.
Anyway sorry it was not up to your full expectations and thanks for letting me know so we can do better next time. Raul

  • We felt very welcome in this nice and commod appartment near San Pedro Market. We would come back!

  • My husband and I stayed at Raul's place for 3 nights. It was exactly as advertised - internet, hot water, kitchen, and plenty of space. Slightly off the beaten track which was nice and very close to Plaza de Armas (10 min walk). Raul was super helpful and gave some excellent recommendations on restaurants. Totally worth it!

  • We tried to book one of Raul's apartments, it was full but he had another one available. It is a cute, cosy two bedroom that sleeps up to 3 people.

It is only a 5 minute walk to the centre of town and the market, so a fantastic location.

The house is surprisingly warm despite the freezing nights and Raul has a heater if you need it.

We were so happy to stay there and really appreciated the kitchen and the wifi (decent speed!). The shower is not amazing for water pressure but it is hot enough, just don't use the water in the kitchen while the shower is on :)

The best thing about the whole experience was Raul who is a fantastic host. He went out of his way to look after us and even let us leave our luggage at his house when we went to Machu Pichu.

We would have stayed again on our return but it was booked.

Raul's apartment is a great home away from home and Raul himself is one of the most friendly and helpful people you will ever stay with. Highly Recommend!

  • Apartment was exactly as pictured. Comfortable, warm beds. Reliable wifi connection. Secure location. Nice hot shower. It´s a 10-15 min walk to the main plaza and maybe a 7 min walk to San Pedro Market. Overall, a really nice spot to spend time in Cusco. It´s a bit apart from the touristy part of town, so you really get a feel for local daily life.
The host and his family are very warm, trustworthy people. Raul was even flexible and was willing to refunded us some of the money we had paid through AirBnB when we had to change our plans last minute. I would definitely stay here again.

  • Pros: The apartment was clean, had a nice bathroom with warm shower, full kitchen with stove and microwave, satellite TV (with several English language channels) and even washing machine! My host was very friendly and attentive and gave us great suggestions on what to do around town, and even gave us a tour of the neighborhood on our arrival day.

Cons: The apartment is a bit off the beaten path in a residential part of town. This is perfect for the tourist who wants to be more than just a tourist, but not for the faint of heart. To get to the Plaza De Armas you have to walk approximately 1.25km/8th a mile.

Walking the neighborhood after dark isn't recommended and we had trouble finding a cab to take us all the way back to the apartment at times. The neighborhood can also be very loud at night and the apartment gets cold, but we stayed in dead of winter (July). These factors are of no fault of the host, but something to consider.

Overall, a satisfactory stay. Just not something I'd recommend for the tourist who is afraid to be outside their comfort zone at times. Great for the tourist looking to see a bit of what life is like for the local citizen.

  • Raul was a very kind and helpful host and the apartment was exactly what we needed during our stay in Cusco. His family very kindly looked after our bags for four days when we were away hiking in the mountains. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, so we felt comfortable walking back there from the centre at night. The price is also excellent considering you get the whole apartment to yourselves. Raul was also kind enough to arrange his tour guide friend who lives upstairs to come and give us advice about what to see and how best to see it. I would definitely stay there again and also recommend it highly to anyone passing through Cusco.

  • Raul was an amazing host for myself and my two friends. He even picked us up from the airport! The apartment was just as pictured on his profile and was also very clean. Having hot water, a kitchen, and washing machine at our disposal was incredibly helpful! He provided extra blankets and space heaters for when it got cold as well. He stopped by a couple times to make sure everything was to our liking (and even brought us some local treats!) and even offered advice about things to do in the area (his friend/neighbor gave us some good recommendations too at Raul's request). The apartment is about 10-15 minutes away from the city center, in a fairly quiet part of town. There are restaurants and markets all nearby, and overall I'd say it's a great location. I would definitely stay here again!
