B&B is located close to city center, district is ok. We received a nice manual from Raul with all the information needed (unfortunately it arrived one day to late so we had no WiFi the first day - after that it was ok). The apartment could have been tidier, we could not use any dishes or pans without washing them before using them, the shower is ok (for Peruvian standards) but not amazing. The kitchen and shower area have serious mold problems... Overall an ok stay even though it was quite pricy compared to a stay at a hostel.
I am sorry about the WiFi password, we just had our modem upgraded and we all got confused with the new network and password, it is all good now. Regarding the mold, i don't remember seeing it otherwise i would have taken care of it cause that's were we live and none of our past guests had such an observation but i will check every single corner to find out where the problem was for you and fix it. anyway thanks for pointing out those, that sure would help make things better, keep traveling safe Simon.
Raul was not available but his sister and parents made the stay very welcoming. Thank you!
The apartment was cozy and was close enough to the main square (Plaza de Armas). Raul's parents were very sweet and attentive, and made sure we had a good experience. The only cons were that the apartment was close to a street market so there was a lot of trash on the streets and it was kind of dicey walking home at night. The apartment also didn't have hot water. But overall we had a good authentic Peruvian experience.
If you want to experience the real version of Cusco, you need to stay at Raul's apartment. Having also experienced San Blas neighborhood, I can say for sure that walking near this apartment will make you feel way more connected with the city, and the locals. Unfortunately, we didn't meet Raul but we did meet his father (also named Raul) who was fully helpful and had answers for all our questions. He even lend us a toaster!
The reservation was canceled 56 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Huge apartment with everything you will need for longer stays. Checkin and checkout made easy with Raul's father living in same apartment block. Walking distance to most important touristic spots. Older style furnishings but very clean. Felt like a home. Highly recommended!
Raul was away during our stay but we were greeted and treated like family by his parents. If you like to travel like a “native” this is the perfect place. It is located in an apartment complex, just a 15 minute walk from the center of town, where you can shop from the locals. There is no shortage of local stands, markets and vendors. The apartment has all the essentials if you want to prepare your own meals. It is spacious and the bed is VERY comfortable.
