Overall, the room was perfect for what my friends and I needed. We had the room facing the cathedral, and the view was spectacular. The location was also good as it was near the metro as well as Las Ramblas, which had many restaurants, shops, etc. The only thing I would point out is the shower temperature was unpredictable. But again, the stay was a good value for the price. Thank you for having us, Alejandro!
Basic and noisy but adequate. This listing operates as a hostel, so there are other 6 rooms with people or families in them. The view on the photo can only be seen from 1 room. Great location but bring ear plugs. Without them you will not sleep, as crowds die down at around 4am and noisy building cites start up at 7 or 8. Did not meet the owner. The facilities are also pretty basic. There is 1 fridge and 2 air fans to share between 6 rooms, so be ready to fight for it. Worth it if you get the room with the view.
There is 1 fan for every room. There is a big fridge but guests seldom use it, it's almost empty.
There are 3 rooms with balcony and amazing view to the Cathedral.
And yes, as described this is a hostel, and the price is the price for a private room,
the thing is that Artyom was in Valencia, and found a private apartment for the same price like a room in Barcelona. but Valencia is Valencia, and Barcelona is Barcelona...
The location was amazing and in the middle of the gothic district! Beautiful view from the window. Unfortunately the common areas were very dirty. There were 2 bathrooms, one was very small, the other had a moldy shower and both were very dirty for the first 2 days we were there. I wrote to them about it the first day and got a quick response back that they would be cleaned. The kitchen was also dirty. The washer could only be used at night when the house keeper is not using them.
La estancia en el apartamento de Alejandro ha sido buena. La habitación compartida entre 4 correcta, así como las zonas comunes y los baños. Buena ubicación. Un buen detalle la facilidad para recoger las llaves en otra ubicación. Gracias.
Loved the location of this place! Pictures are 100% accurate. Cafes all around, metro close by, also this is a stop on all the tour buses as This was my first time sharing a place with others and I was satisfied. No issues with the other tenants and the cleanliness withy the shared areas. We arrived in Barcelona at 11:55pm, it was hard to get in contact with someone because we did not have a phone but once we got access to a phone (taxi driver) we were able to meet with someone for our keys. Overall great stay! I'd recommend to stay here.
We had a fantastic time in Alejandro's apartment. We arrived quite late before checking in on our first night (around 10pm) but this wasn't a problem. Alejandro himself wasn't there but his friend was and she let us in and showed us around. From then on we were on our own but that was absolutely fine, we had everything we could possibly need between the fully stocked kitchen and the two bathrooms. Some of the ware in the kitchen was quite dirty, as were the bathrooms but that's because it's up to the residents to clean their dishes as they go. The bathrooms aren't the cleanest but that being said we didn't really have a problem with them. The apartment is in a fabulous location and it's great value for money! Alejandro is a lovely host, always very quick to respond.. Would definitely recommend.
One of Alejandro's friends met us at the front of the apartment building. Personally, the location couldn't have been better (so convenient to everything) and the view was exactly as pictured. It's definitely a more low-key hostel, hosting more relaxed folks (no drunken and noisy young tourists). The noise from outside isn't too bad (unless you're a light sleeper). We were lucky to get a good view of some of the events happening in front of the Cathedral during our stay.
Interior: It's very basic in decor. There are two bathrooms, so it's mostly a non-issue to share it with multiple people from 5 other rooms (6 in total?). The hot water seemed to run out quickly, ~5 minutes (maybe bad timing on my part?). I never used the kitchen so I can't comment on that. Someone cleaned the flat everyday, so the communal areas were kept in check. WiFi internet worked great.
