Welcome to my home!
In the heart of the residential New Town, yet close to the city sights and Fringe and Festival venues, my flat is in an amazing central location, great for getting around a city which is just made for walking.
The New Town is a World Heritage Site famed for its beautiful Georgian architecture. My flat is part of a traditional Edinburgh tenement dating from 1807. Set on the third floor, it has stunning views sweeping across the Firth of Forth as far as Fife (weather permitting!).
Your bedroom looks out over the city, and has a 4'6" double bed and plenty of storage and hanging space. Linen, plentiful towels, a dressing gown and a hair-dryer are provided. The bathroom (shared with just one) has a bath with a shower over and 24/7 hot water.
The cosy sitting room is great for a quiet break in between seeing the sights; there is a TV and high speed Wi-Fi connection for emailing. Tea and coffee are available on tap and, for breakfast, a free selection of cereals, toast and fruit for you to help yourself to.
Metered parking (free at weekends) is in the nearby streets. The bus and railway stations are about a 10-15 minute walk, as is the Airbus airport link. The newly opened Edinburgh tram passes just up the hill in St Andrew's Square. There are various convenience stores and all the amenities you might need, as well as lots of local eating and drinking places to choose from, from the restaurants and bars of George Street, to the local artisan cafes on Broughton Street, all a short walk away.
The New Town is a wonderful, less visited historic part of Edinburgh, well worth being explored. Also close by is Carlton Hill, with striking monuments and views over the Royal Palace of Holyrood and Arthurs Seat. A short stroll from here is Princes Street, with its gardens overlooked by Edinburgh Castle and the route leading up to the historic Old Town and Royal Mile.

Lorna is a top quality host. Her home is small, perfectly formed and immaculately clean and comfortable. The breakfast table included fresh berries which was really appreciated as was the use of the kitchen for tea/coffee. We had everything we needed including a top floor view to Fife.
We had a wonderful stay with Lorna and would highly recommend.
A tastefully presented and extremely comfortable apartment in a very convenient location not far from Edinburgh's many attractions and public transport hubs yet in peaceful surrounds - with the bonus of a view!
Lorna made me very welcome in her home allowing me to settle in very quickly to my two night stay.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Within walking distance (10-15 mins) to everything you'll want but is in a quaint, quiet part of town. Lorna was super welcoming (invited me to picnics, festivals and drinks with friends) and really helpful with ideas for things to do and see in the measly day and a half I had. She engaged in conversation easily and was also respectful of my space. Lovely room with great views into the neighborhood dotted with historic homes. You'll be spoiled with choices for breakfast as she laid everything out for me to enjoy from fruits, cereals, breads, juices, teas and jams.
Lorna's place is absolutely fantastic and perfectly located in New Town. The bedroom is really nice and very comfy. Lorna is a great hostess, prepares great breakfast and will help you with anything you might need during your stay.
Really lovely apartment. Lorna gives us lots helpful tips. :)
Lorna was a wonderful host! She offered us dining tips and things to do and see, and had them all written up for us. Her flat is clean and comfortable and in a great location! Lorna also provided a lovely breakfast of cereals, bread, jams, fruit and yogurt. I would definitely go back and would highly recommend Lorna's flat if you are looking to stay in Edinburgh.
Lorna is a very friendly and helpful host and her apartment is well situated, clean, and just all-around perfect for a short stay in Edinburgh. I would definitely recommend staying with her and I would definitely return!
Lorna is a great host! I loved her place! Pretty central, less than a 10 min walk to queen and george street.
Room was really nice, and breakfast was great too! I would go back again!
Lorna's apartment is a super place in Edinburgh - well presented flat in a gorgeous part of the city. Handy for the main tourist places and also easy to get to other parts of the city. I used to live and work in Edinburgh so this was a quick trip back down memory lane but I will definitely be back. Thanks Lorna :-)
Thank you very much, Lorna! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your home.
