This is the back half of our home that we have lovingly renovated just off of beautiful Bayou Saint John. It is a clean and bright studio apartment with its own private entrance. The kitchen is well-equipped with a stove, microwave, full-sized fridge, and useful cooking items like oil and vinegar, tea and coffee, and all the implements you would need for making a meal. The bed is a memory-foam queen, and we have a twin air-mattress as well. The porch-swing is, no humility here, the best! The yard is shared with a 30 foot tall sycamore tree named Elvis, and not a neighbor will be able to see you if you choose to drink your coffee on the porch in your nightwear.
Bayou St. John is an adorable, sociable and historic neighborhood in the center of the city 2 miles from the French Quarter. Walk to the grocery store, the coffee shop, several restaurants, and a teeny neighborhood bar. We are 2 blocks from the Bayou, which is the tail-end of stunning City Park, both of which are full of runners, fishers, dogs, kids and even the occasional pelican or alligator! (He's very small.) There's a beautiful footbridge over the water where all us neighbors take our walks in the evenings.
There are bikes, buses, trolley's and of course, feet for getting around and we will be happy to help you figure out which one is best.

This was our first Airbnb stay and we will definitely doing it again because of such a positive first experience. The apartment ist great - very clean and spacious and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in! Brooke and Elliot were the best hosts you can imagine, very hospitable and helpful. All in all it was a great experience - I would definitely stay here again!
B&E's studio is lovely and simple. The pics don't do it justice. Highlights were the bathtub for giants, bathroom stonework, gas range and super comfy bed. We stayed for four days and used the streetcars to get around. The neighb was great, safe and friendly. B&E gave great recommendations for music and food around town. They are friendly, down-to-earth people that have created something beautiful.
Brooke and Eliot were both great hosts. Aside from an amazing place to stay in a great location near a really cool bayou, they gave us great advice about a parade happening that we never would have known about otherwise. Would totally stay again!
Brooke and Eliot were very helpful and friendly hosts, providing good advice about the neighborhood. The apartment was very clean though spare. The neighborhood is beautiful, safe and convenient. I would definitely stay in Bayou St. John again!
Brooke and Elliot were excellent hosts! They were very accommodating specially for our two little ones. Brooke gave us tips on where to eat and every place she recommended left us craving for more. Their home was very clean and comfortable. The bed was AMAZING! The neighborhood was perfect for a young family. Before we left, Brooke and Elliot advised us on what we can expect if and when we moved to New Orleans. The good and the bad. I recommend this place 110%. Thank you Brooke and Elliot for having us in your wonderful home.
Perfect place to spend our three nights in New Orleans. The apartment was immaculate, the bed was comfortable, the porch swing was indeed fantastic, and it was a treat to have a full kitchen of our own, stocked with all the basic dishes, cookware, and implements. Fantastic neighborhood - quiet, safe, lovely architecture, and great central location. We had some lovely walks along the Bayou, Esplanade Avenue, and to City Park, and up to Willie Mae's Scotch House too (DO IT!). Just a mile and a half or so to the Quarter, really anywhere in the city you'd want to go is a quick drive or bike ride. The convenience of being in central New Orleans, but without the occasional wafts of vomit smell and screaming co-eds of the Quarter.
Brooke and Eliot were perfect hosts - very friendly, provided everything we needed during our stay, but also respected our privacy. They gave us great food and music recommendations throughout our stay - lots of local tips off the beaten path we may not have found otherwise. They even let us bring our little dog, and offered us use of their bicycles. We really couldn't have asked for a better stay, and I've already recommended their place to a half-dozen friends. Can't wait to get back.
Pro tip - ask about the history of the apartment. Very interesting.
Brooke is a lovely host and gave us lots of great local recommendations. The place is very clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and nicely situated near the Bayou, which is perfect for an evening stroll. We had a great time.
Brooke and Eliot are the perfect hosts, provided prompt and detailed answers to all of our question both before and during our stay. They know and love their city! Highly recommended! [If you visit w/o a car (as we did): there is a bus going into the city in 15-20 minutes, but it doesn't run frequently (it has a schedule though.)]
We selected Brooke & Eliot's apartment because it was so close to where our daughter lives, and it looked like it would have everything we wanted. It did not disappoint!! The apartment was comfortable and lovely, the neighborhood charming, and full of restauranrs and coffee houses, and Brooke & Eliot were gracious and helpful. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
I really enjoyed my stay at Brooke and Eliot's. upon arrival Brooke showed me the apartment and indicated where to find things like a grocery story, local restaurants, and the canal that leads to city park which is beautiful. She offered the use of their bikes and I took them up on it. Only five mile through the park is Lake Pontchartrain where I say an amazing sunset and sail boats. I would recommend this place to anyone. Great little neighborhood!! Easy access to the trolly witch gets you down to the French quarter and the river in no time. Thanks for a great stay Brooke!
