This quite, cool and comfortable garden apartment is in an excellent location at the busy intersection of Church an Market. The Meeting place of the Castro, Mission and Haight districts where all muni lines cross. Walk in and leave it all outside.

The Space

Two options: One King size Private bedroom or one private studio with full futon. A beautiful one-bedroom space with a garden, fire-pit, BBQ. Access to all SF MUNI lines. Right in the middle between the Mission, Duboce Park and the Castro.

Cozy, hidden, two-bedroom apartment. 2 options for staying: 1. Is the King Tempurpedic Cloud in a private bedroom with a TV and Air Conditioner. 2. Full size futon in a garden facing studio listening to a waterfall in the back yard. (I call this room "The Zen Room".

24/7 access. Shared Bathroom with a huge stand up shower. Great kitchen and a garden patio to rest or relax in. Tiki torches and a fire pit area in the back yard and great for night time gatherings, parties or chats.

Don't expect me around much, my dog comes to work with me some days and her other days she, stays at home.

Central to all Muni Lines. 5 minute walk to The Mission, The Castro, Duboce Park, and Dolores Park.

Surrounded by restaurants and coffee shops, but you would never know you were in the city. 24 Hour Fitness on the next block.

Guest Access

Guests will have access to the apartment and the garden. 24 hour access in and out.

Interaction with Guests

I am a busy guy with a lot going on, I am happy and fun to be with my guests, or to let them do their own thing. Every person is different and I can adapt to their needs.

The Neighborhood

My neighborhood is amazing!!! I have lived on the same block for over 8 years. I love having the coffee shop directly across the street from my door. Also, on my side of the block is Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, American "Comfort Organic", a beer pub with 20 beers on tap, and a really a great seafood restaurant. Don't even have to cross a street to get to them.

Getting around

I am located at one of the bussiest hubs of our San Francisco MUNI line. All the lines in the city are within one block of my house. One of the best places to get around the town.

Other Things to Note

You would never know that my place exists here. It is truely an oasis in the middle of the city. Quiet and inviting, with a great back yard with 3 huge palm trees. The only thing missing is a hammok.

  • Everything about our stay with Chris was fantastic. His home had everything we needed, and there were several amazing highlights that I'll rave about here.

I really enjoyed sinking into the memory foam mattress, which gave us quality rest and relaxation after a busy week of activities, traveling, and work.

One morning we enjoyed a really great start to the day with breakfast in his back garden patio. It was a luxury to have that much space to enjoy the outdoors while still being in the center of town.

The location was perfect. Less than a block away from most MUNI lines as well as a 10 min walk to 16th St BART station. And best of all, one block from Whole Foods where we shopped and ate like locals!

And last but not least, our hosts Chris and Celie (his French bulldog) were just extraordinary. Chris went out of his way to make sure we were super comfortable, and his hospitality was really second to none -- in fact the best we've experienced in all our Airbnb stays. In the end, we not only met a wonderful host but we were fortunate to leave with a wonderful new friend.

  • This Hidden Garden Oasis is exactly what it says: A clean and very comfortable place to stay in a very cool/hip area of SF. It had a comfortable bed, a GREAT kitchen and roomy bathroom with nice wicker baskets for your own personal items. The 'Zen' Patio alone, was so nice after a long day of sight-seeing, with plenty of room to relax in the sun or read a good book with the tranquil sound of a quiet water fountain in the background. And kudos to Chris for creating such a thoughtfully laid out landscaped garden area in his back yard, which was a true gem in such an urban area. There's also a fire pit outside and a nice gas fireplace indoors to warm up with depending on the weather. We stayed for a full week and did NOT rent a car. You won't need to, because the Muni bus goes everywhere! And there are plenty of great restaurants too, like Crapevine for the best breakfast and lunch! (that's a C for the best Crepes ever!) And SO many other great restaurants in the area too. Chris was a super great host! And his little dog Celie was a cute and well behaved little doggie. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to San Francisco! It was by far, one of the BEST!!

  • Chris's apartment was just the perfect place to discover all that SF has to offer! He made us feel just like at home in the most friendly way. The bed is huge, the garden is lovely and peaceful, perfect for a sunny breakfast. Everything you need is just at the corner: very good restaurants and bars (Castro/Mission) and convenient connection to public transportation. I highly recommend his place. Thank you Chris and Celie!

  • Chris made us feel at home from the minute we met him, he's a really interesting and well travelled guy, who also happens to be part of the inner sanctum of airbnb itself!
He took us on a tour of the new airbnb office, which was a fun and informative experience, and one which affirmed my belief in it being a company worth supporting, as it seems to have stayed true to its original ethos.
Chris' apartment is in the most perfect of locations, you can walk to the Castro/mission districts in minutes, and dolores park is about 10 minutes away. There are tons of breakfast options literally outside the door, otherwise you could always cook your own in his place.
The apartment itself is charming, the bed was huge and very comfortable, and there's a garden out the back which we would have spent more time in if it had been a little warmer.
We enjoyed Chris' company when he was around, and felt like we left more as friends than just visitors.

  • This was my first airbnb experience and Chris confirmed my reservation very quickly. His listing reflected very well what the place looked like and I was pleasantly surprised by how nice his place is kept. Chris showed me around the airbnb headquarters when I picked up the keys and I was in awe. He's got a very warm personality and was very friendly to me and my guest. I truly felt at home during my stay. I also enjoyed how walkable this location is and how close it is to 24 hour diners, bars, grocers, etc.

  • Our stay at the Hidden Garden Oasis was fantastic! Our host was gracious, his dog was snuggly, and the accommodations exceeded any expectations we could have had! The location is marvelous and our host was quick to hip us to the apps that made our use of public transit and finding our way our around in general a snap! Chris was a wealth of information, positive vibes, and generosity! I recommend a stay here wholeheartedly!

  • Chris was the perfect host. My San Francisco itinerary was riddled with hoops that I had to jump through but Chris was able to accommodate so much. He is very attentive, we had excellent communication. His place is a gem. Everything as posted. Including Celie who is just adorable. Prime location too---everything you need is close by. My only regret is not being able to visit the Airbnb HQ, but that's my fault totally. Would definitely come back.

So be sure you book Chris in your next San Francisco trip. You'll be glad you did :)

  • I had a great time at Chris and Celie's place. Chris and Celie were wonderful hosts and Chris was like a friend that I have known forever.

The place was so cozy that I would have the hardest time getting up and going in the mornings. The location is the best that I have been able to find in the San Francisco area. Public Transportation, restaurants, gyms, and bars are all in walking distance. I can't wait to see Celie again. It was difficult to leave her.

  • Had a fantastic four-night stay with Chris and the adorable Celie. Beautiful, clean, and quiet room and apartment, with an idyllic garden in the back, and great restaurants nearby.

And Chris is attentive to every little detail of your stay, while giving you the space to feel at home. Can't recommend him highly enough.
