Williamsburg Artist Loft

Loft - Private room · South 4th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211, United States

The Space

We are renting one bedroom in our loft apartment in the heart of Hipsterville Williamsburg. Our building used to be a rocket factory so it is very artsy-industrial with metal doors and 16 ft ceilings. A ten minute walk from both the Bedford L and the Marcy Ave J-M-Z you are literally steps away from the coolest bars, restaurants, and shops in all of Brooklyn. Not to mention a 5 minute train ride to Manhattan. You are also 1 min from the Williamsburg bridge which you can walk or ride across to the Lower East Side. Williamsburg has just been crowned the music and art capital of New York State. If you are younger than 40 and want to get a real taste of New York then this is where you need to be.

The bedroom contains a twin loft bed with a dinette and dressing area beneath. Upon check in you will receive a private key to your room. WiFi is available throughout the entire apartment and their is a mini DVD player in your room with a collection of flicks.

Our living room is huge and we also have a full kitchen complete with a dishwasher. There is laundry conveniently located on the same floor down the hall.

Did we mention there is a huge elevator in the building? No stumbling up and down stairs for you! The best and most unique part about our place is that it comes with two lovable live in lady hosts. We have both lived in NYC for over ten years and are probably the best tour guides you could ever ask for!

We do have a dog, but as you can see he is little guy and VERY friendly. He is usually tucked away in his room so you won't even know he's there unless you want to play.

Check In
  • Rae and Ginger were super accommodating especially since I made my request at the absolute last minute on 12/30 to stay with them on 12/31! Excellent communication and respond times, found key left for me at bar right where they said it would be, keys worked great. Apartment was tidy and well decorated with fun funky art, perfect vibe for 2 artists who live there. Found good info on door to loft when I arrived, and the dog is a small tin guy who will only bark as a good dog should for a short while when u arrive. Ladder to loft is narrow and not best for physically challenged but everything else was perfect! Clean comfy basic bedding and fluffy clean towel left for me. Bathroom extremely clean and large! One roomie made us some coffee in the am and walked w me towards my next destination in the morning! Building felt secure once inside, mostly younger artsy types, neighborhood felt safe at night too. Great for adventurous travelers. Will def stay again if I can! Thank you rae n ginger!

  • I had a very good time staying at Rae`s and Ginger`s place. They were very helpful and flexible with arranging keys for checkin and time for checkout.
The loft is right off Bedford Avenue, a very cool and vibrant street with lots of shops and places to go out. Subway station is 10 min away. I felt very safe and would stay with them in Williamsburg any time again.

  • Pros far outweigh cons as follows:
-The Hostesses (fun, friendly, helpful, funky)
-No hassle regarding logistics (keys, communication, etc)
    -All basic living amenities met

-Loft may be difficult to access if disabled
-Silence cannot be guaranteed, though this is NYC and ambient sound may be part of the charm
-10 minute walk to J or L trains

-Little dog which could be pro or con depending on the individual. Personally, the little fellow was only mildly and temporarily (judging by the initial barking) annoyed by my presence.

Overall: A grand bargain. No regrets.

  • Just as advertised, didn't meet Rae but Ginger was cool and and gave some pro tips to a first time NY-visitor. Quick to respond to any issue, helpful and great hosts. The location's optimal for brooklyn visits, the flat is clean and your room is atmospheric and comfortable (some degree of agility required for reaching the loft bed). Loved staying there and Noodlez is a sweetheart. Both Rae & Ginger are busy people so don't expect to see a lot of them. Thanks for the stay /Marko

  • A really great location for exploring Williamsburg and great space to stay in.

I never met the girls but getting the key etc was really easy and they replied really quickly to my questions.

    Highly recommend!

  • Keys were left at a bar since I was getting in when they weren't home. Which, I didn't mind. Shower is awesome! Stay was good, but hosts were a little loud past the 11pm hour.

  • I had a fantastic stay with Rae and Ginger! The room itself was cosy (I slept for 12 hours at one stretch), the apartment was welcoming and clean, and located in a terrific modern building. Their place is right in the heart of amazing Williamsburg, about a 8 min walk from the subway. So many cool (cheap) restaurants, shops, bars, cafes, bakeries and more! I spent my evenings listening to great live bands at Spike Hill on Bedford Ave. Was great meeting Ginger and Rae, and had a wonderful time!

  • This is a unique spot to stay (where else would you be welcomed by an octopus with a top hat?) in a very convenient location if you're interested in exploring Williamsburg. Rae and Ginger are very organized and responsive, and kind to shambling travellers like myself.
