This land grant farm hails 183 acres of rolling blue ridge mountains - at its finest. The vintage farm house, circa 1832 has been restored , reorganized and regenerated for fun in the heart of historic Virginia. Large lawns and decks will host you.
The property of 180 acres rests in the apron of the Blue Ridge mountains, just 6 miles west of the gate to; The Shenandoah National Park. So if you are on a hiking adventure it will only take you a short drive up the mountain to the park.
The wine enthusiast will be happy here, we have 12-15 wineries within a short drive of the farm. If history is your thing, then you have come to the right part of Virginia. Montpelier the home of James Madison is 20 minutes away and Monticello the home of Thomas Jefferson will take 45 minutes to get to. Ashlawn home of James Monroe is just around the corner. History is every place all you and the family have to do is get there from here.
Our farm house and gardens have been restored for comfort and relaxation. We are not off the beaten path, just really in the country. The acres of the farm provide a secluded feeling of home and happiness.
The stately nature of the house can accommodate a house full easily. Our TV room is also the den, so you can take off your shoes and relax with your favorite show. Because the Dish will only allow one show at a time, the TV in the kitchen will show the same as in the den.
Our front porch has swings and benches for just quiet time. If you really want to get busy, we have large lawns and gardens where the children can play and run.
The patio in the back of the house has a gas grill for your use, with tables and chairs for dining. A full service kitchen is at your service.
In the 4,500 square feet of farm house make your self at home. The kitchen is there for your use, cleaning behind your meal is requested. The patio has a gas grill and chiminia for guests.
Interaction with Guests
We as hosts will confirm your arrival to the farm house. Usually at breakfast we help you with maps ideas and brochures and send you on your way. Wineries all around this general area. Some now have restaurants that prepare light fare.
The Blue Ridge Mountains are majestic.
As land owners of this area I feel very happy to be able to share this sweet spot.
Farms are spotted down the mountains, sparkling every day. The horses here a lovely pets of the family and enjoy being visited by you.
Our country roads are enjoyed by the bicyclists of the city. The tender hills and winding country roads are excellent for a ride.
Other Things to Note
Our County is home to many artists. Their talent falls into many mediums. Our pottery and hand thrown artists and easily found. Garden club is active as is the painting classes. And of course the Antiques, they are every place. Lovely galleries to rome through
We have a two night minimum for all our bookings. You can check in between 3 and 6 PM, and our check out is 11:00 AM after breakfast is served.
Our kitchen is fully equipped, you and your guests may use the kitchen for lunch and evening meals, you need to tidy up after your are finished.
Smoking is permitted on the out door decks.

About the Host, Barbara
I am retired and enjoy my days with hand crafts and in the Spring I start working in my landscaping around the house and out buildings. I also plant and keep a full garden along with my husband. Canning our harvest is one of summers chores, but winder is time to enjoy the harvest.
By addressing the need for home, in the USA, is very hard to find just any place so having and B&B gives me and you a party when you arrive.
