The apartment was newly refurbished in mid 2013 and offers a spacious livingroom with a sun balcony, 2 large bedrooms (the master bedroom has it's own balcony) a high standard fully equipped kitchen and a brand new bathroom with a shower.
Location is one of a kind: in a quiet neighborhood with a choice of restuarants, caffes and wine bars just meters away from the mighty Colosseum and a short walking distance from The rest of Rome's monuments. A metro station, a Tram stop and many bus lines offer a range of traveling options to every point around the city and out.
The apartment can comfortably host up to 6 persons (2 in each bedroom and 2 more on the comfortable foldout couch).
On top of it all this apartment offers to it's guest the famous stylish Vintage interior touch that made us (Retrome) famous.
Starting with the positive, I can enthusiastically recommend any property handled by the RetRome team - they really try hard and offer services that are closer to that of a hotel than a typical AirBnB experience. They have a small office in the neighborhood where their properties are located to deal with anything; they offer to help with your luggage and even let you leave your bags there before and after checkout; and they checked on me every day and straightened up the apartment, emptied trash, and left fresh towels. They go above and beyond, really. As for this particular apartment, it has many nice features, like the two balconies on the front and back of the building, a modern kitchen (but with minimal utensils for cooking), and a great wifi connection (recently updated). Cable TV wasn't useful for an English speaker, only business channels and no news in English, all else mostly Middle Eastern language channels. I must note that the building is old and has typical Roman problems - the water for the toilet wasn't working properly (it would not shut off) and required several visits by a maintenance person. The elevator was glitchy and required multiple attempts to get it to work (and it stopped working altogether just as I was leaving to check out!). If you have some patience for these kinds of things, you will love your stay there. Every time I had an issue, the RetRome team was right on it, and they worked very hard to make it right. As I stated from the outset, I recommend any property handled by RetRome - they do a really great job and want you to have a good experience, and they are very friendly and welcoming. A big thumbs up for the RetRome team!
Our experience has two sides to it. The negative is that the Wi-Fi did not work, and I needed Wi-Fi for work. I spent hours away from my family in the courtyard sometimes in the middle of the night and when it rained I was huddled in a stairwell. Not very comfortable or relaxing. I complained vehemently but there was nothing they could do. The owner gave me a 10 Euro a day credit but that was far from the compensation I should have received for my troubles.
Ok that was the negative lets get on to the positive. The apartment was terrific, two large bedrooms a living room and full kitchen, bright and airy and a nice balcony to spend sipping coffee. The air conditioning worked well the beds as well as the pull out couch were comfortable. We were 4 adults and two small children and there was plenty of room. It is in a nice neighborhood with a Gelato store on the block and the grandchildren loved it. It is in a neighborhood so you get all the neighborhood sounds, good and bad, including the garbage truck at 6am.
Overall a great place to stay, just check to make sure the Wi-Fi is working if that is important to you.
I can't say enough about the RenRome team. Angela was terrific she helped with any and all of our issues and with recommending restaurants, etc. She tried to solve the Wi-Fi problem, even going out and buying me a SIM card (only to be for the wrong I Phone). Thank you Angela, and all the best with the new Bambino. Dawoood was terrific as he cleaned the apartment and brought us towels etc upon request.

The RetRome project was born from a combination of our interest in art and design and our experience in the fields of tourism and hospitality. Interiors are designed by a group of young artists, who collaborate to brilliantly recreate the optimistic and comfy ambience of a 1950's 60's & 70's Rome, without giving up contemporary and comfortable features.
