Santa Monica beach is a very hip and popular place to be in Los Angeles especially during the summer months. There is something to do for everyone here. Art galleries, music, yoga studios, shopping at Thirds Street Promenade, going to theaters nearby, taking a surfing lesson, or just relaxing on the beautiful beaches...You will fall in love.
The apartment is located very centrally - across the street from the famous St Monica's Catholic Church. The 3rd Street Promenade is 5 blocks away and the famous Montana Avenue is 3 blocks away, lined with cute little restaurants and shops. There is a Vons supermarket 2 blocks away, hospitals 7 blocks away, you literally could walk everywhere.
Personally, I am a film and television producer that travels a lot for my job. I can recommend good places to eat and some fun galleries to visit. Or simply exploring on your own is quite easy to do around here with a very open and welcoming culture.
DETAILS OF THE APARTMENT
The bedroom is very clean and has a new queen size bed, with a Sterns and Foster mattress. There is a cute little bathroom attached to the bedroom, for convenience and I will provide towels as well.
In the living room, there is direct TV (200 + channels), and a Wireless connection. There are 2 custom made couches that you could easily sleep on in case you dose of watching tele. There is a guitar for those who play and a dvd player if you want to watch movies.
The kitchen is has a coffee machine, blender, microwave available for you to use and Whole Foods is 3 blocks away on Wilshire Blvd and if you prefer gong to the coffee shop for your morning cuppa, Coffee bean is 1 block away. We have a washer/dryer behind the building in the alley and the key is attached to the apartment keys - you will need quarters to operate these, which you can get from the coffee bean or Vons.
TRANSPORT AND PARKING
If you are bringing your own car, there is street parking in on 3 sides of the block. Just be aware of street cleaning on alternating sides on Mondays,Tuesday and Thursdays.
Bus lines stop on Lincoln 1/2 a block from the apartment building) and the number for cab service is on the fridge. Coming from the airport, I find the fare is usually arnd $28-$35 depending on traffic and takes about 30 minutes. The blue shuttle is $12 with a few stops along the way. This neighborhood is easy to get around by bike and there are lots of bike rental shops nearby. Roller blades, skateboards and walking have also been popular choices for getting around if one does not have a rental or car.
There is a Lovely Park across the street with a 2 Tennis Courts, 2 Playgrounds, Basketball Court & Exercise Equipment. If you're into Yoga, I highly recommend Hot 8 and have some free guest passes.
All in all, it's just a sweet little piece of home that I hope others can enjoy as much as I do. I am only now renting out the place for the first time as I was using it too often until now. I hope I can help you have a wonderful vacation and and regardless of which place you decided on, that your stay in Santa Monica is memorable and relaxing.
The apartment is smoke free apartment, which also includes burning incense or anything similar that would go against the city ordinance.
This was an incredibly wonderful experience. The place was incredibly clean and welcoming. The fridge was practically empty …everything was perfect and our host was very very acommodating.
Anneli's space was fabulous! It was exactly as described, and in a great location. The apartment was lovely and clean, and the bed - oh my goodness, it was soooo comfortable. I wished my stay was not so short as I really wanted to spend time on the cute front porch with a book and a cup of coffee! Talking of coffee, there is a new coffee shop across the street at St. Monica's Church - called Holy Grounds - which was my go-to spot every morning. Loved my stay. Thank you for sharing your very cool apartment, Anneli.
Anneli place was nice and quaint. Her apartment had everything you couldn possibly need. It was very convenient to the store, beach, and bus stops. Only down side it did not have air conditioning and was stuffy at times even with the windows open.
