We were in Costa Rica for approximately 4 weeks. We booked the first week at Luis Carlos' place which was great, and which we've already reviewed. The next week was in Cahuita, then we spent a week on the Pacific. We intentionally left the last week open because we didn't know where we'd want to be the last week. Well, we spent it again at Luis Carlos' place. We loved how comfortable the place was, it is secure, it has good sleeping accommodations and the best of the kitchens we had in Costa Rica. the Internet was great, and it was simply a great place to go back to, to relax for the last few days of our vacation. If you want to be near San Jose (or the airport), this is where I'd recommend. I will absolutely stay again with Luis Carlos if I return to Costa Rica someday. I want to mention again how tremendous the entire family is. Coming back to Luis Carlos' place felt like coming home, and I was greeted like that's what was happening. In short, I highly recommend Luis Carlos' home to anyone considering it.

Luis Carlos's home was beautiful, spacious, clean, and our favorite of the Airbnbs we stayed at in Costa Rica. The location is close to a small town and a short taxi ride to the Finca Rosa Blanca Coffee Plantation, which my boyfriend and I also recommend for a tour! Everything was perfect for a quick stay at the beginning of our trip in the country.

Our family of four stayed at Luis Carlos' place for 5 nights in January, and it was a wonderful experience. We used the home as a base to explore Poas, take a coffee tour, go into San Jose and generally hang out. We had four of us split into the two rooms with beds large enough for us to share, two to each. The house was well equipped with everything we needed including a very good kitchen, a great spot to eat outside, and strong wifi. Luis Carlos and his family live next door and they were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. We were delivered some fresh fruit from their garden one day, and another day they brought over some tamales for us to share. There was always someone available if we needed anything or needed to ask a question. Luis Carlos and his sister speak very good English - a bit of Spanish may help otherwise but we got by just fine (I speak some Spanish, the rest of my family do not). In all, it was a great experience and we would not hesitate to return someday.

House as described, convenient stop off on the way from the airport. Buses into Alajuela and San Jose are cheap and easy, about 45 mins but the rush hour can add an hour to this!! Local shops not far. We didn't eat out in Santa Barbara but really liked the Jalapenos restaurant in Alajuela, wouldn't recommend wandering around here late at night though.

Luis Carlos' place was perfect for what I needed. He and his mother (who was there during the day when I arrived, while he was working) were very kind and helpful. The house is adjacent to their house and is well kept up with kitchen and washer dryer. It feels private. They are working on some updates to the water system to increase the water pressure but I personally had no problems with the shower/water system. I would definitely stay there again.

Very nice house, well decorated and equipped, and close to the Santa Barbara town center with shops and restaurants. Luis Carlos and familly were welcoming and nice. The organisation for our arrival was clear. Very nice stay!
