The Space

Why stay in a hotel when you can enjoy your stay the fullest in Brooklyn, yet for much less!

I live in a house in the trendy hood called Brooklyn Lefferts Garden. This room is part of the house that's based in multi-ethnic, friendly, safe neighborhood. Cafes and restaurants reflect various backgrounds. A yoga center just opened only two blocks away. I can also take you or show where to go for a delightful hang out spots or bars with Jazz concerts and hilarious comedy shows.

Ask for the sublet special if you are interested in staying for a month or two!

Enjoy your stay the fullest!

Please note that this not a hotel room with a 24 service which is why it's so so so much cheaper, and much more laid back than hotels. Also, the room is in a house that was built in the 1920s so while you can find so many of Brooklyn's characters in it, it's not really shiny. In addition, the pictures are taken by a professional Airbnb photographer. I love those photos but some guests commented that Airbnb photos didn't convey the real look of the room. In any case, pictures are taken for the same room, I assure you. Lastly, please consider picking up after yourselves (towels, bath stuff, bathroom mat, and wash your plates/pots after cooking). At times, guests think that the house is untidy or dirty when it's actually another guest who decided to leave things unwashed... etc :). In addition, please be advised that when you don't clean after yourself in the kitchen or bathroom, or when you eat in your bedroom that there may be a chance that you see a mouse or roach. Thanks for reading.

Guest Access

Frontyard, livingroom, kitchen, and bathroom.

Interaction with Guests

As much as guests want. I may or may not be present during the stay but if I am not, someone else should be at home to help you when you need.

The Neighborhood

I love that my neighborhood is diverse, fun, not uptight, open, and I mostly love that I can get anything anytime of the day or night. I love that there are so many cafes and restaurants. I love that there are museums, parks, free concerts almost all summer long.

Getting around

Public transportation are about 5 minutes away, and buses are only 30 steps away from my house. Parking is free although you have to abide by the two days cleaning for each side of the street from 9-11 in the morning.

To get from airport, take a taxi for $30-$40, or take the bus or subway for less than $10 total per passenger.

  • Natasha was very welcoming and always made sure that i had everything i needed as well as giving recommendations of things to do, which became very helpful! the room was a perfect size and the bed was comfy. Everything was always clean including the bathroom and kitchen. The train station was very close by and it was a good neighborhood.

  • I really liked staying at Natasha's place! It was just what I needed: Clean and orderly, good bed, kitchen facilities. In this price point, I think it is hard to find anything better:) Besides, this is located in a really cool area in Brooklyn. I didn't know that prior to arriving, but this areas is dominated by people from the Caribbean, so there's lots of Caribbean restaurants and shops everywhere. The possibility to borrow a bike from free from Natasha is also nice. Defnitely recommeended!

  • Natasha was a great host, very welcoming and available. The place was comfortable and I enjoyed talking with the other guests.

  • Natasha was so sweet and extremely hospitable - whenever I had a question or needed help with anything, she was there right away, and she also provided breakfast foods in the kitchen. The neighborhood was great, I never felt unsafe, and all the basics like groceries and the subway (2, 5, Q, B lines) were a short walking distance. Kind of a long ride if you're going into midtown (45min) but not a big deal, just bring a magazine. The house was a bit on the older side and the locks on all the doors were really stiff which was made getting in/out a bit of a nuisance, but Natasha is doing some repairs next month so hopefully this won't be a problem soon. There were other guests staying in two other rooms but this wasn't a problem for me since I was out most of the time. All in all an amazing deal, especially if you're going to be out all day and just need a place to crash at night.. I'd stay here again.

  • Natasha was a great host. She checked on her guests regularly to make sure their stay was going well. The other guests I met were interesting and friendly people. The location was great, just a short walk from 2 train. The room was fine for the price, no frills but comfortable.

  • I appreciate Natasha hosted me very well. My arrival was delay about 30 min but Natasha was waiting me in the outside. She also waited me outside when I check-out, too. Also she also gave me flexible check-out schedule. The location is convenient. Easy to get to JFK by using bus and subway. Many Laundromats are available. The room was also good. Other guests I have met are good and interesting people. The price was perfectly reasonable. It is very recommendable except if you want very close place to Manhattan. Thanks, Natasha!

  • I had a great time there. You can have food in the fridge and coffee too. There were two families staying with me, so it was difficult to use the bathroom during the busy morning time. But other than that, everything was great! Natasha called me a cab to JFK too! Thank you!

  • Great host and place! Location is only a couple blocks away from the train and it also very close to the beautiful Prospect Park which has good food options! Felt right at home right away and the space was cleaned and stocked with essentials everyday.

  • I stayed at Natasha's place for 5 days and I liked it! The apartment was great as a home base while exploring NY, especially one for which I did not spend too much on accommodation (overall, a great value for the price). The place was very close to the subway/metro station and the neighborhood is lively and safe (there are always "eyes on the street"), even late in the day.The room was clean and comfortable. The bed is comfy, the wifi worked perfectly and the shower was good (although a bit busy in the mornings). Moreover, Natasha is great: she is kind, informative and very well organized. If you are in NY on a budget, I strongly recommend staying at Natasha's place!

  • My stay with Natasha was great and she is an excellent host. To my surprise the guests could use the food in the fridge, which was great, especially when you wake up very early because of a jetlag and are hungry but haven't had time for grocery shopping yet. The room was clean and very convienient. It's about 30 min from the subway to Times Square, and the station is only 5 minutes walk from the house.
If you arrive at JFK airport, I would recommend considering taking a cap. It's possible to get there with public transportation, but it's a bit of a hassle with heavy luggage, becuase you have to change and there are mostly no elevators.
All in all, it was a great stay and a very good value.
