Cheri's house was an artfully curated, whimsical, magical escape. Cheri was helpful in suggesting restaurants but also gave us our privacy. If pure passing through Tacoma, I highly recommend staying with Cheri.
I will start out by saying that this was my first experience using Airbnb and I was extremely nervous going into it. I was new to the state and needed somewhere to stay for a month while I searched for somewhere to live, etc. I really did not know what to expect, but I read some of the other reviews that were left and I decided to take a chance. I am really grateful and glad I found this place. Cheri was amazing! I really can't say enough great things about my experience staying in that home. The first day I arrived Cheri wasn't there, but made herself available through text/email. I had the pleasure of meeting another couple staying here who were so nice and that helped me feel a little bit more comfortable. Within a few hours it felt like I'd always lived here and I was not so nervous anymore. I first met Keri and she was really sweet and we talked briefly. Then a day or so later I met Cheri. I could tell just from my brief encounters with these ladies that they had a really positive energy about them. When I finally was able to have a conversation with Cheri she was willing to recommend some areas that I might like, which definitely helped narrow down my search. Cheri was also able to offer up some advice about different things that were going on in my life and I will forever be really grateful. I'd also like to mention, you have all the privacy you could ever want. I did tend to spend some quite days in the room. As far as the property is concerned it has an extremely welcoming and "homey" feel to it. The decor is very vintage and really beautifully placed and there was a ton of space available. I especially loved the wind chimes outside. The neighborhood was nice as well. Although I did not spend much time exploring the area, I did notice they had a lot of events in the park, which was cool. There was also a really great hair shop within a few blocks. Overall, I just loved everything about this home. Part of me wishes I could have stayed longer because it felt like a second home to me. I don't even feel like I did it justice by writing about it, but all I can say is you should definitely stay here if you are looking for a relaxing experience. You are really close to a lot of activities and I think that everyone would enjoy it. I don't normally write reviews, but I hope that I was able to convey just how great of an experience I had. As someone new to not just the city, but the state this is all I could have ever asked for. It was just the perfect amount of time to figure out everything I needed. Your Proof: I used up every word available for this...
The moment I stepped in this beautiful vintage style house, it felt like I was at home. Beautifully decorated and cleanliness was visible every where, I felt very safe and comfortable. My room was nice, private and provided with all the required amenities. About the host( Ms. Cheri ), how ever much I say won't be enough. She is such a sweet, loving and kind hearted person, not for even a moment she let me feel I was a strange guest in her home. I was treated like a member of family. I appreciated the hospitality of Cheri and keri while I stayed their. I thank you so much. Oh, Ms Cheri has a cute cat named Joyce
It was great. Cheri was extremely helpful via text and when I met her, she was charming and sweet. The listing was awesome and very homey with an eclectic twist of art, books, and quilts.
I don't have enough superlatives to describe our absolutely outstanding stay in Cheri's home. If all airbnb experiences were like ours were with Cheri (and Kerry and their other friends and guests) airbnb would put hotels out of business. Cheri has created an incredibly comfortable home, beautifully and creatively furnished in a way that will bring a smile to the flower child and calm the nerves of the overstressed executive, very peaceful and soothing (with very positive and powerful "qi" in the Chinese sense), just what my (Chinese) wife and I needed after a stressful trip cross country. Tacoma is a very eclectic community with some surprising sights (such as the glass works), and Cheri's well cared for home, on a short street in an equally well cared for neighborhood, is a perfect example of eclecticism done right. As a host she is accessible and helpful but never intrusive, and we left for southern California after two nights rested, refreshed, and hoping we can come up with an excuse to visit her again. As an aside, those of you thinking of visiting Seattle, which we found to be nightmarish in terms of traffic and parking, might make your base with Cheri in Tacoma and take the express bus north to the big city instead. The bus was her suggestion and, in retrospect, I wish we had taken it.
Cheri was out of town for my stay, but sent me detailed instructions covering all of my needs. The house was clean and quiet - perfect. Everything was easily accessible, and the location was ideal for avoiding US Open traffic. Would definitely consider staying here again.

About the Host, Cheri
I love living in Tacoma and exploring the Pacific Northwest and beyond! It delights me to share my whimsical space and offer deeply relaxing in-home massage and spa experiences! Licensed as a Massage Practitioner for over twenty years sessions are available for fee and subject to availability, planning ahead is helpful but I can be spontaneous if you catch me at home!
A lover of nature and a curious explorer I usually have some kind of camera on my body, that is when I'm not in the water, my home away from home!
I'm currently working (playing!) on curating a photographic and mixed media gallery of my artistic expressions!
A special gift left by a guest really describes me best...
Everything warm...heavy quilts, red wine, naps, fires, strong coffee in heavy mugs
Everything soft...pillows, flow curtains, cats, skin
Everything strong...hands, intentions, feelings, desires, words, colors
Everything fragrant...food, flowers, candles, damp earth
